On the other hand Geoff Johns did to Tim and Kon what any fan probably would have done; immediately canonized their deepest and most fervent headcanons. He wanted them to be the bestest of friends soooo bad as confirmed in at least two letters to the editor he sent in the 90s.

#he sped run what could have been an awesome growth between them #like i get it #they did have fondness for each other and they were friends #but best friends was pushing it #they both had hangups and issues #they could have been resolved and it could have been an awesome comic story #buuuuuut he just didn't want to go that route and just.... established that they were besties #i get it i would probably do something similar if i just wasn't given the go ahead to show that sort of development #i would have preferred to see their bonding and growing closer than having bart's knee blown up #and him being thrown into a manic depressive state #but we all know what his opinion was on bart so...
