bernard when he learns tim used to be in love with kon but dated cassie bc of their shared grief over kon’s death bc cassie used to date kon and tim was the closest she could get to him after his death, but now bart and kon are dating and tim’s so confused and tim’s like oh yeah, kon was in love with bart the whole time, and bart like died a couple of times but when he brought yj back together he did it to find kon and bernard’s like, so everyone’s in love with kon? and tim’s like not really, we were kids and codependent as hell, but kon was definitely in love with bart the whole time, and bernard’s like but bart never made a move? and tim’s like nah man kon’s girlfriend died and they were friends, and the girlfriend wasn’t cassie, so then tim tells him about tana and bernard’s head hurts.

bernard: “so this whole time, you and cassie knew bartkon was real????”

tim: “to be fair, it took kon longer to come out of the closet than me.”

bernard: “and impulse just came back to life outta nowhere!?”

tim: “speedsters are built different.”

mind you, bernard and tim are having this conversation at two am in bed after three rounds of sex.

The Thawne family really has such continual issues with love (romantic and familial)/that when it comes to love they continually face issues. It's almost like they're cursed in some way .

A lack of familial love is an issue seen with three Thawnes: Malcom (Cobalt Blue), Eobard (Professor Zoom), and Thad (Inertia). All three of them felt unloved and unappreciated by their own family. And these are three Thawnes of three completely different eras. (Malcolm - 20th/21st Century, Eobard - 25th Century, Thad - 30th/31st Century).

Familial relationships and familial love in the Thawne family also tends to be complicated when you look at Meloni and her relationship with her father, President Thaddeus Thawne. There's clearly a controlling aspect to President Thawne's relationship with his daughter, but it also seems like he does love his daughter.

Also Meloni's relationship with her son, Bart, is also complicated. There's not a lack of love between them as a mother and son, but at the same time the two barely know each other/their complicated situation doesn't exactly allow for them to really have an opportunity to develop their relationship with one another.

Eobard's relationship with his family is bad (he's viewed as a disappointment). He also makes it so his brother Robern never existed.

Romantic relationships/Romantic love for Thawnes don't end up well either considering how Meloni's husband ends up killed. And that in part is due to the fact she fell in love with and Allen.

It might have been a first love/first relationship for Bart, but Carol ending up having to stay in the future after Bart fully realizes his feelings for her is another example of romantic relationship/romantic love not working out for a Thawne.

The same version of Eobard also falls in love, but continual even as he rewrites his life and the life of the women he falls in love with (She starts out with a fiance, Eobard then makes it so her fiance has disappeared, she still doesn't want him, he makes it so she never dated him, she still doesn't want him, he makes it so she has never dated in her entire lief to the point it's like she's cursed (that's the actual word used there), and she still has no interest in him), and he ends rewriting his life to the point he narrates that he has never been in love.

Also to a lesser degree Thad ends up abandoning his first girlfriend and first relationship ever, so chalk up another one to love being complicated for the Thawnes.

There are just so many instances of love not working out for Thawnes. Romantic love and familial love is so complicated and messy for them.

Young Justice Animated. Full stop. The list is too long to exhaust, but some of the top ones being;

1.) Bad Dad Clark TM 2.) Believing cartoon specific details are details also found in comics and making a soup that has way too much salt. 3.) Flanderizing, everyone. 4.) Also simultaneously over-analyzing and holding it to a higher, unattainable standard, in comparison to other shows because it has queer characters. 5.) Coloring COMIC BART'S eyes as GREEN. K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc? Honestly the Post-Zero Hour version of Querl Dox/Brainiac 5 has one banger of a character development arc where he goes from removed, unattached, very traumatized but so very eager to obtain approval to someone that does show empathy, concern, understanding and sees the people around him as less obstructions and as his friends. I love comparing Querl during the events of Legion Lost to his first appearances in in PZH run; in that scenario Querl was faced with a hopeless situation and an unattainable expectation and he decided to instead of revealing that despite all of his knowledge he was incapable of getting them home he maintained his team's spirits and hope that they would make it back home.

Had this even occurred when he was younger - he would have told them immediately that they were fucked and he had no solutions. They would never make it home based on the materials he had to work with.

It was a character evolution that was handled so exquisitely it makes me swoon a lot.

fnnerm I have so many so this is hard to narrow down to just one.

One of the more recent ones I came up with is that in universes where Don survives and is not murdered by his father-in-law he becomes a meteorologist essentially and is one of the key persons that operates climate and weather control on Earth. He is pretty dorky, but has a personality that people genuinely gravitate to as he is more extroverted than Barry. As such he became something of a familiar face for people on Earth because he not only delivers weather reports in fun ways, but he garnered the nickname "Weather Wizard" as a sort of nod back to the past. Iris absolutely LOATHES this nickname.

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?

Generally speaking it's comics but I also have a deep love for Tolkien so that's book driven. I don't typically spend much time thinking about a favorite source text for what I spend my time on but I do spend a lot of time reading comics.
