Allow yourself to dislike something without a reason. "I just don't like ____ character" is a whole ass reason. You do not need to seek one out, nitpick the content for a reason, or find immorality to justify your dislike. Just dislike it. If someone asks why you dislike it, "I just don't" is a good enough reason - if they do not accept this, that's on them not on you.

Adult Kon using his x-ray vision to see Bart's fractured and broken bones post-battle. Kon using his TTK to hold said bones in place while he heals. Sometimes Bart is unconscious for it, often he's awake yapping about what they're going to have for dinner. It's such a casual event for them eventually. Everyone else just looks at them like ಠ_ಠ because legs don't bend that way and that's a lot of blood.

When Kon first did this they were still teenagers and he was crying while Bart kept trying to get up and leave before his leg was healed. He threw up twice afterwards. He's always been squeamish about real-life gore, his boyfriend's gore was out of the question.

Wally and Bart will both bully the other and slander each other's names at any opportunity but also will kill for each other, or in Wally's case, do something far more terrifying.

i love all the aus where thad has a happy ending and stays with max & helen & bart because how tf would they explain that to bart’s civilian friends. how would they account for the sudden appearance of a long lost twin brother. bart and carol stay up all night workshopping possible explanations and write a whole soap opera about how they were separated at birth that’s frankly more ridiculous and unbelievable than the real story. preston decides that enough crazy shit has happened in bart’s life that he HAS to make a documentary about it and ‘shadows’ bart to get day in the life content. cue incredibly typical close-call shenanigans featuring bart shoving his costume in a closet while preston’s back is turned, talking about ‘his cousin wally west from keystone city- OH HAHA not THAT wally west,’ etc etc. this is how preston finally accidentally finds out that he’s impulse, because after bart does everything he can to keep it secret thad just shows up in his inertia costume and waves hi. preston is less mad about the whole impulse thing than he is about the fact that now he can’t share his documentary

I think a lot of batfans very much underestimate how dispiriting it is and enraging it is when you are trying to celebrate a non-bat character, theme, or concept only to have a batfan swing in and instead make it about a bat character, theme, or concept.

This isn't something that happens "occasionally" - it is persistent and unrelenting and it makes fans of non-bat characters feel undermined and unheard. So yes, pettiness does come out because we. are. tired.
