@the-flaming-pavus continued from here.
An amused smile was plastered on Nethra’s face. He enjoyed seeing Dorian like this. Of course, he enjoyed seeing Dorian in any context, but anger was one that did not show itself quite as often. He locked his fingers together in front of him and walked dramatically slowly around the library, admiring the mess he accidentally created.
“Well, do I look the librarian?” He could not hide how much he relished this, not that he tried to hide it. “Maybe you should post a sign. How was I to know to make sense of all of this?” He sat himself in the large chair in the corner, crossing one leg over the other and steeping his fingers in his lap. “I am deeply, achingly sorry, Master Pavus. If you must punish me, I will accept whenever you lay upon me.”

"Oh, had I known there would be so many wonderfully attractive people here -- such as yourself-- I would have come much sooner." That was Nethra's greeting as he held a hand out and offered a charming smile. -iveredhe
@iveredhe starts the beginning of yet another fucked up verse :I
Séaghdha blinked, somewhere between confused and flustered, and took a moment to glance around and behind himself. Surely this man wasn’t speaking to him. But… there was no one else nearby, and the hand was outstretched to his person directly… Judging by how well kept the elf was, there was no doubt he was someone of importance (though his vallaslin had Séaghdha curious, as he’d never seen a Dalish so well appointed before). Josephine would be displeased if their newly made Inquisitor did their guests insult however, so despite the flush creeping up his cheeks, he took the hand offered him shyly.
❝You flatter me,❞ came the soft reply, though he tried to find a voice more appropriate of his new title. From his rapid lessons in The Game, such a bold greeting usually meant someone was after something. He could not show he was effected (or, at least, couldn’t show it any more than he already had), so he straightened his posture and tried to look like the proud, confident individual he was supposed to. The drastic difference in height between them, however, just made the attempt cute more than anything else.
❝We have drawn all sorts of people to our cause, from all across Thedas. If it is, ah.. aesthetics that you seek, I think you will be pleased. And the Inquisition is always grateful for help, serah… ah… may I have your name?❞

Madurai salon owner is talk of the town, post Mann ki Baat
Tumblr media
Forty-six year old C. Mohan’s phone has been ringing continuously ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday mentioned about him in his ‘Mann ki Baat’ radio programme.
“I have lost count of the number of calls I have received. It could be over 250 calls,” Mohan told IANS.
During his Mann ki Baat programme, Modi said Mohan, who owns a salon in Madurai, had spent his entire savings to help people in distress during the Covid-19 lockdown.
“Shri Mohan ji runs a salon in Madurai. Through sheer hard work, he had saved five lakh rupees for his daughter’s education. But he spent the entire amount in the service of the needy and the underprivileged in these difficult times,” Modi had said on Sunday.
According to Mohan, he had saved the amount for his daughter M. Nethra’s education. She is now in eighth standard.

In a first, four Indian sailors together qualify for the Olympics; Nethra Kumanan becomes the first Indian woman sailor to qualify directly
Tumblr media
In a historic first, four Indian sailors- Nethra Kumanan, Vishnu Saravanan, KC Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar- qualified for a single edition of the Olympics. Nethra Kumanan achieved the feat of becoming the first Indian sailor to have booked a place at the Olympics directly.
Nethra Kumanan
At the Mussanah Open Championship in Oman, Nethra Kumanan finished sixth and was placed second overall in the medal round. With that performance she booked her place in the Tokyo Olympics in the Laser Radial category of the Sailing event. Nethra is the first woman from India to do so and significantly, the first Indian sailor to have booked a place at the Olympics directly.
Tumblr media
Nethra was introduced to Sailing during a summer camp organised by Tamil Nadu Sailing Association in 2009 at the age of 12. Although she was into Tennis, Basketball and Cycling but eventually she took up Sailing. "I love it, it’s like no other sport, and I played everything as a kid,” says Nethra. “Sailing has been different and more mental than any other sport that I’ve tried.” [Source: Olympic Channel].
Nethra has been training in Spain for almost two years and often has to shuttle between Chennai and Spain while managing her B.E Mechanical Engineering lessons online. She won the national championships twice and has been a runner-up on two other occasions. Her first podium finish in an international event came at the India International Regatta held in Chennai in 2014.
Though Nethra was a part of 2014 Incheon Asian Games and 2018 Jakarta Asian Games but she came into the limelight after winning a bronze at the Hempel World Cup Series in Miami in 2020. She became the first Indian woman to win a World Cup medal in Sailing.
In Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Nethra Kumanan will be competing in the Laser Radial category. The category was first introduced as an Olympic discipline at Beijing in 2008. Nethra is presently training under Hungarian coach Tamas Eszes, a two-time Olympian.
Vishnu Saravanan
Vishnu Saravana finished second at Mussanah Open Championship and sealed his place for Tokyo Olympics. Competing in Laser Standard category, Vishnu finished third with a netpoint of 51 and guaranteed a berth for Tokyo Olympics following the medal race. In the medal Vishnu bagged 2 points as he finished first.
Tumblr media
The Laser Standard is the original rig, with the largest sail of all variations and has been used at the Olympic Games since 1996. Indian Army's Madras Engineer Group (MEG)'s Naib Subedar Vishnu Saravanan had undergone training at Malta under the Sail Coach Academy for the past two years.
Vishnu enrolled into Boys Sports Company, MEG and Centre in 2015 as a Boys Sports Cadet. He won medals in Junior National and Youth National Championships and participated in the Hong Kong Sailing Week - 2016 (ASAF Series - 2) where he won a silver medal. Based on these performances, Vishnu was appointed directly as a Naib Subedar into MEG 2017.
After enrollment into the Army, Vishnu won his first gold medal in Senior National Championship in  2018 and bronze medal in the Laser Youth U-21 World Sailing Championship 2019 held at Croatia.
K C Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar
KC Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar qualified for the Tokyo Olympics by finishing at the top in the 49er category at the Mussanah Open Sailing Championships. The pair of Ganapathy and Thakkar had won bronze at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
Tumblr media
In the 49er category, two sailors on-board take different roles. One generally steers the boat while the other undertakes more of the physical work and controls the sail. Both of the crew are equipped with their own trapeze, and sail.
After the qualification of four Indian sailors for the Tokyo Olympics, Capt Jitendra Dixit, Joint Secretary of Yachting Association of India, told PTI "Yes, history has been scripted. Four Indian sailors have qualified for Olympics to compete in three events. It's the maximum number of sailors qualified and also in number of events.”
There have been four instances of two Indian sailors qualifying for the Olympics earlier but they took part in the same event. The Indian pair of Farokh Tarapore and Dhruv Bhandari participated in the 470 Class at the Los Angeles Olympic in 1984. Tarapore and Kelly Rao represented India in the same event of Sailing at the Seoul Olympic Games in 1988. Tarapore, in his third Olympics, paired with Cyrus Cama to take part in the same 470 class in Barcelona Games in 1992. Malav Shroff and Sumeet Patel participated in 2004 Athens Olympics in 49er Class.

@lathsuledin liked this for a one-liner.
Nethra moved in on Vel from across the room, his arms folded across his chest. He wore a subtle smile as he spoke. “I heard you were looking for me.”

Let me spam my OCs at everyone for a moment. In order from top to bottom:
Gaelavun: Ancient elf,  Arcane Warrior, and the estranged son of Elgar’nan. Best boy ever.
Arison: Bard Elf (think Leliana in terms of fighting abilities) from the city who communes w/ spirits (hence the glowing eyes).
Nethra: Ancient elf, Dual-wield Rogue/Bloodmage who is a devout believer in the Creators, despite knowing the truth of them. Total asshole.

@lathsuledin gets a starter.
“What an interesting design.”  It was the first thing Nethra thought to say upon greeting the relatively newly appointed Inquisitor. He had been waiting patiently for the shine to wear off and for a chance to catch him more or less alone before introducing himself.  He smiled pleasantly and the wine-red markings on his face curled with it.
“Your vallaslin, I have never seen such a unique design before. Who is it meant to honor, if you do not mind my asking?”
