It had been weeks since Eli had had a night out. There had been date nights with Zane interspersed in and while Eli enjoyed those nights, it had been forever since he'd done something on his own. He knew that that was part and parcel with being a parent, but sometimes, Eli missed the ability to be spontaneous, to simply decide that he was going out for the evening. So, when he'd seen karaoke night at Hell & High Water advertised, Eli had decided that he'd definitely participate.

"Oh, Angie," he greeted with a wide smile. Zane's boss had always been welcoming to him. "I'm not much of a singer," he replied with a shrug. He'd participated in the church choir when he was younger but that hardly counted. "I did sign up, though," he continued, because karaoke didn't require being talented. "Are you participating?"

smile spread across her face, angie picked up her drink as she watched the person in the spotlight sing and laugh. she had been needing a fun, light-hearted night and a drink and karaoke was just the perfect fix. turning to her right, she spotted a familiar face. “eli! honey, how are ya? what are you doing here?” 

he was still sporting a coat so she couldn’t be sure if he was coming or going; if he was here to stay or just popping in since it was in the neighbourhood. “you know you have a sweet voice. do you fancy yourself a singer?” she teased him, hoping he would take her up on the implied challenge.

“Mentira.” abrió la boca con ligera sorpresa mientras miraba a la contraria. “¿Nunca te saltaste clases?” volvió a preguntar algo incrédula, para ella era algo mas de cada día. La pelirroja negó con la cabeza chasqueando la lengua, era algo inaceptable. “Nos vamos. En quince minutos te veo en el baño que esta en el primer piso al lado de las escaleras.” anuncio mientras guardaba sus cosas. “Y no, no es una sugerencia es una orden” lo dijo segura, y no esperó una respuesta por parte de la contraria enseguida se dio media vuelta y se encaminó hacia la puerta de la cafetería. Tenían que aprovechar ese breve momento luego del almuerzo para poder escabullirse.
