Evan had gone to see Constance as soon as things had settled down. He had missed her but then he always did when he went too long without seeing her. What with the questions she had asked the last time he had seen her, his answers that he knew did less to assure her every passing day and how he had disappeared without a word right after the attack, he knew that this visit was long overdue. He avoided looking for their mother in the manor and instead headed straight for her room, knocking once before turning the knob. A smile spread across his lips when he saw her, a book open in front of her. “Busy?”
