GALADRIEL STARR

9. Pick one aspect, be it physical, emotional, psychological or otherwise of one character and go into depth about it.

Galadriel is, simply put, a mess. He’s a barely functioning alcoholic that spends his time engulfed in malice and guilt. He constantly lashes out against Schwartz, who he blames for all of his problems while ignoring his own glaring faults. Honestly, they could be illuminated with Hollywood spotlights, and he’d find a way to avert his eyes.

He’s a textbook narcissist who spent the early half of his life pursuing worldly pleasures without any sort of remorse. Using people to climb the corporate ladder? Fine. Flings, no matter the feelings involved? Absolutely. He lived for compliments and recognition. His face was his literal moneymaker and he was vain to a repulsive degree. His vanity could have rivaled Adonis.

After 10/30, it all changed. His beauty was tarnished with scars, and he was no longer the center of attention. His shitty attitude hardly drew attention now that his face wasn’t worth looking at. It took a huge toll on him and his ego, especially considering that fucking around and being handsome was all he was good at.

Galadriel had to rebuild himself from the ground up, and only did so by sinking lower and lower. He became disillusioned with Schwartz - often trying to get into physical fights with her during board meetings. He had to have several arrest records buried by the company and its associates in the political sector. He’d become nothing more than an obnoxious drunk until Dorothy was roped into Schwartz Industries.

At first, he didn’t believe he had a daughter, nor why she’d appear at his lowest. Of course, the answer was always Schwartz. To the CEO, Dorothy was nothing more than a bargaining chip. To Galadriel, she was a constant reminder that he couldn’t do anything right - not even be a father. Basic biology, and he’d still fucked it up.

Most of his days are spent in bed, loathing what he’s become. He still thinks he deserves better - that he should be at the top of the food chain. Realistically, he could probably achieve that if he weren’t so caught up in self-loathing.

What was the Incident that prompted Schwartz Industries to take on Lilith? And what is her daily routine like?

Even though I haven’t gotten to the 10-30 Incident in the Foundation series, 10-30 describes a devastating event that took place last October, in which Schwartz Industries was attacked by the SDS. UNKNOWN had infiltrated Schwartz Industries under the guise of an employee, and for UNKNOWN reasons, broke the contract between the SDS and SI. The SDS firmly retaliated by bombing and infiltrating the Schwartz Complex.

In the chaos, many were injured or went missing. Some were outright killed. Galadriel, lucky enough to have lived, but unlucky enough to have sustained injury, suffered in the aftermath. He was the face of Schwartz Industries; a pretty boy made for networking and brand. However, when 10-30 occurred, his face was damaged. There’s now a long, thin scar running from one cheekbone to the edge of his jaw. Although SI has done everything in its power to reduce its visibility (including herbal remedy, magic, and surgical skin grafting), nothing has made it fade permanently. This is detrimental to a business that relies on looks and investigative paparazzo; thus enters Lilith.

Lilith was hired to take Galadriel’s place - but it wouldn’t look good on the company to replace someone based on something so superficial, let alone destroy the ties he’d already made. Therefore, it was best for business to have her sign on as “The New Face” as well as Galadriel’s lover. A love story born out of tragedy and a new player in the game was all it took for media attention to be turn a blind eye from Galadriel’s private life, and Lilith loved every bit of attention.

She’s demanding, in both attention and presence - which serves her well in her day-to-day life. She generally spends mornings at home, catching up on gossip and playing “treat yourself” with designer bags online. Afternoons are for hair, make-up and gossip lunches with friends. Evenings are spent at galas, swooning business partners and being generally charming. After parties are a riot, and when not on call, will discuss SI over drinks with the other “high-rollers.” As vapid as the whole thing sounds, she enjoys the life of seven sins.
