Kazuma doesn’t like when his older brother Eiji does too much shooting whenever there’s a lot of Dusks soldiers swarming around the area in the Akatsuki Special Ward trying to take over the town. He often yells at Eiji for being too reckless. You urged Kazuma not to be too hard on him while HE shouts at you for being too soft on Eiji. 

The Hero of Akatsuki usually enjoys Kazuma yelling at him for some reason. You would stand by and watch the little drama between the Arashiba brothers. Kagami and Banri would do the same too, covering their mouths as they released their little laughter of amusement at the two. 

You headed over to Eiji’s bedroom to patch him up a bit, earning a curvy smirk across his face as you entered his room with the first aid kit in your hands. “Hey there cowboy..” you greeted your boyfriend, sitting by his side on the bed. “Hi, babydoll..” Eiji scooped up close to you while you unzipped the little green kit getting the stuff out. You placed some ointment on the scratches that were on his upper arm before wrapping a strip of bandages around it. While you were doing that with such concentration, Eiji couldn’t help but gaze deeply into you. Loving how focused you look. Your boyfriend swiftly moved his head to peck a kiss attack towards your lips, grinning in success afterwards. You lifted your hand to your trembling lips in a heat of flushment, “E-Eiji!” 

He laughed at your adorable reaction, squeezing your hand, “I’m sorry, baby doll. I couldn’t help it. You just look too adorable, especially when you’re very focused.” 

You rolled your eyes at his comment, gently pressing down the bandages around his upper arm, “You know, Eiji….you are a silly, reckless man…” 

“What can I say, babydoll? It’s a part of my charm.” 

“There, done. You should get some rest, mister.” You put the things away back in the first aid kit. Before you could grab the little green bag and take it back downstairs. Eiji seized the opportunity to toss it aside and placed you down on the bed beside him in such a shameless manner, his dreamy gaze locked onto you. He cradled you in his arms, not wanting you to leave him all alone in his room. 

You let out a little sigh, a small smile glossing over your lips, “Eiji, please let me go. I need to put the first aid kit back downstairs. Also you need to rest, cowboy...” 

Eiji chuckled, holding you gradually close to his chest, “Well, I would rest better if you stay here with me…” 

You surrendered in defeat, cupping his face as you leaned in to press down a loving kiss at the corner of his lips, “Oh Eiji, what am I to do with you…?”

another “I read catastrophe again after getting caught up with the manga so now I wanna scream at kagami” THIS IS ALSO HELPFUL FOR YOU MANGA THEORISTS I GUESS

the FORESHADOWING like when was catastrophe published?? 2014?? And Kagami already had it planned out enough to have Mahiru say shit that doesn’t make sense until some of the most recent chapters??? And uh?? If you think about what she says now it kind of means stuff??

This part is more about the actual implications to the plot and stuff about Yu as well as Mahiru’s Plans, I had to split it up into that and then the other one will just be me bitching about Mahiru in this chapter

So the prologue for book 5 of catastrophe, that’s the scene where Mahiru talks to Yu while he’s in a cage. Basically Yu’s parents were working with the thousand nights but then decided maybe not and set their house on fire and tried to kill him, but then saito and his boiz yeeted yu (Guren watched that part on tv back in like, a couple books ago before the thousand nights censored it) and have been doing a lot of funky experiments on him for the past few months 

From what I can tell he doesn’t remember any of it, and Yu thinks that the fire thing just happened recently, he thinks he’s in a cage because he’s a demon, and his memory gets erased of this later too. So for a few months every time he’s conscious he’s in a perpetual state of “what the fuck is going on and I’m still fucked up over what my parents did”

He’s kept with the thousand nights for a good long time before Saito takes him to the orphanage on christmas (and again, from what he says we can tell he still thinks that the fire and all that has just happened despite the fact that it’s clearly a different season now.)

So this chapter takes place in the fall, I think? Mahiru walks into the thousand nights place and goes “do you have a seraph boy for me” and they’re like “no he’s at the hyakuya orphanage” ((that one was a 4 year old named junji who mika practically adopted)) and she’s like yeah ok I’ll talk to yu anyway, so I’m gonna foreshadow shit to him and he’s gonna remember it even tho you’ll erase his memory and hmm. She was right. Why

So she’s like so you’re name’s Yu right *turns to the camera and winks* and then she monologues about Yu’s name. Which. Well. If you’re caught up in the manga you know it’s just as significant as Mikaela. She says it’s spelled with the kanji for “gentle”, which ow?? She’s like well his parents really hoped that against the odds he would turn out to be kind and gentle, no matter what happened.

Considering the fact that they’ve basically said that Yu is the devil? Or at least has some sort of devil thing going on? Uh? Ouch? Like his destiny as well as every other clone with that name is basically to be like inherently evil or something, even though all of them we’ve seen are the sweetest fucking things?? Yu is BABY?? Like?? OW???

And then Mahiru laughs at herself about that name, saying wasn’t that hilarious. The thought that despite everything, he’d be kind. Then she’s like “anyone who is capable of being that kind must be like a GOD” *wInK wInK* and K A G A M I can we NOT add another SPECIES for FIVE SECONDS lemme remind you of SUN GOD ATEN the fUcking,,, 6th?? Is it?? 6th different identity/species of Yu’s?

Plus the fact that Yu says “I’m a demon and as long as I live bad things will keep happening” I did nOT need that in the context of recent chapters because the fact is deep down he still really believes that like DAMN

There’s more stuff that she says in this chapter that’s kinda foreshadowy but it goes more into the “bitching about mahiru” post so look for that if you want it, I just thought I’d separate it bc this is more actually about the plot

I need a Kuroko no Basuke Season 4 desperately but we’re never getting it so I will be throwing around a bunch of ideas on what could’ve been based on where we left off ;_;

Lucky for us, Fujimaki did give us hints on how things are going (Last Game does not exists *shuts ears* lalalalallaLALALALA). 

In the manga, the newest captains are:

Yosen- Himuro

Kaijou- Hayakawa

Shuutoku- Miyaji(Yuya)

Touou- Wakamatsu

Seirin- Hyuuga(unchanged)

Rakuzan- Akashi(unchanged)

Seirin has two new first years in a canon extra: Asahina Daigo and Yaagi Yuta. So that’s basically set the Seirin team pretty well. Supposing this goes like a usual sports anime and we got all three years, then season 4 would’ve focused on Riko and gang’s graduation, the second-years wrapping up & preparing Kagami, Kuroko and the bench trio to take over because they’d probably be playing first string. 

We could have a lot of stuff going on with the Uncrowned Kings, Himuro and the current captains(final year). I kind of want the Seirin upperclassmen to graduate with a win but I doubt Rakuzan would let it happen. Yosen hopefully makes it to the top three, and Shuutoku top 5. 

Kise’s pretty pissed after Kaijou losing against Touou- and honestly Touou’s going to need some work on being a team. Wakamtasu and Aomine have always been on bad terms and it’d take time to fix it, but Kaijou is getting good at team work. If they did go up against each other I think Touou would lose because of how much the team started to clash against each other(redemption arc in 3rd year tho so it’s fine). 

Yosen’s going to be on another level now that Himuro’s captain, It’s his final shot at taking on Kagami before graduation. I don’t think Seirin could win against them if they were to play in a match. They’d probably lose. Seirin placing third or fourth. 

Idk why but I’m picturing the Winter Cup finals as Yosen vs Rakuzan with Rakuzan winning. 

Shuutoku- okay I don’t remember a lot of the team dynamics but I do remember it being like- Midorima gets into a position to do his shot- ball travels- a Shuutoku member is under the basket to ensure the ball goes in if he misses. He depends on his team a LOT. Takao’s Hawk Eye, the rebound member under the basket, ensuring that no one is around him- his 3-pointers takes time. In the set-up for his 3-pointers, a lot of energy is spent. Takao’s eye and his proficiency as a PG +Shuutoku’s competency makes it possible but it clearly takes a lot of team effort- which hinders the rest of the members. 

Touou- As I mentioned before, Wakamatsu and Aomine really need to learn to put aside their differences, otherwise it’s going to be difficult to play. Aomine is literally unstoppable and in reality probably the most well-rounded player(there’s Kise and Murasakibara when he goes all out) in GoM. Any conflict probably arises from his inability to coordinate with the team and letting his pride get to him- the best way that could happen is in a match with Kise. Kise riles him up and is his eternal rival. He’s always won against him, so if he gets close to losing or actually loses- it’s going to throw him off. (We can have some Momoi and Aomine conflict as well).

Yosen- Murasakibara stated that he has to hold back lest he hurt people during games, now he doesn’t have that restriction because the GoM can handle his strength and holding back would be a problem. Honestly Yosen has a pretty good line up in second year. Murasakibara isn’t just a shield anymore- never was. All is looking good for Yosen actually, their arc could be focused around their positive developments because Himuro was so vengeful last time. MuraHimu just enjoying b-ball in s4 thank you very much. 

Rakuzan- Actually, same as Yosen, they’ve all come together as friends after first year. It’s Uncrowned Kings’ final year and you best believe that Akashi would make it fucking spectacular for them. We could probably get some insight into what’s up with Akashi’s dad and that whole thing. I can’t see them losing tbh. 

Kaijou- This team. Honestly Kaijou might be wiping the floor with everyone. Kise’s actually ready to go unhinged, he’s probably seeking fucking vengence after Kasamtasu cried and they lost. He’s got Perfect Copy on lock too, he can copy all of GoM. He’s a lean mean killing machine out for victory and he’d do anything to get it. He’s getting along well with his team too and has the flexibility to compromise. I’m genuinely scared of Kaijou in 2nd year. 

Seirin- I feel like there’s going be hiccups with the first years- Kuroko’s just learning to be his own ‘light’ but it’s such a feeble first step into a new territory and style, there’s bound to be some conflicts with Kagami. Probably in terms of passing- like Kagami expects Kuroko to pass the ball, Kuroko gets reckless with his new found abilites at times, etc. The seniors though, they’d be fine. They’d probably brush up on their pre-existing abilities and move forward. 

Really interesting match-ups:

- Yosen vs Rakuzan(we get little to nothing of Akashi & Murasakibara’s dynamics) - Touou vs Kaijou- but Kaijou wins -Shuutoku vs Touou -Seirin vs Yosen- but Yosen wins -Rakuzan vs Kaijou would be cool -Kirisaki Daiichi vs Rakuzan(somehow, idk)

This is just a huge ramble. If anyone knows basketball well and wants to write/has written a sequel of sorts for KNB, please lmk so I can read and quench my thirst :_;.

This year’s recs is kinda short on new stuff cuz I’ve been rewatching/watching some older anime but I’ll put the newest ones at the top and the older ones closer to the bottom

Moriarty the patriot - Ngl I didn’t know this was a Sherlock Holmes anime and I was watching it for the guy people dubbed the mafia Kuroo who I now know is actually called Sebastian Moran

Banana fish - ….. that shit got me fucked up. I think it was one of the most wholesome relationship I’ve seen between two male characters in supposed yaoi a long time. Only saying supposedly since I’ve seen people call this a yaoi but I’m not too sure if it’s officially labelled as one but I I understand why it’s called yaoi by many

Devils line - okay so this was released in 2016 but I think the dub came way later. But anyways it’s about vampires and it’s really good in my easily pleased opinion. It’s about a guy who’s half vampire named Anzai who falls in love with a human girl and it not only deals with their romantic relationship but also the relationship between humans and devils (they call them that in the anime and manga) and how there’s also an underground organization that’s trying to kill off all vamps. It’s only got 1 season and bitches be hoping for a season 2 to come eventually cuz I wanna know what happens so rn I’m buying all the mangas for it. Outside of that another reason I think people would like it is cuz there’s a couple that was homosexual and one was asexual many of the devil and human couples have a relationship that doesn’t involve sex, and and involves very little kissing too sometimes so I think that’s something that’ll interest someone. I can talk more about it in a separate post cuz it’ll get really long

Beastars/beastars season 2 - the only warning I gotta give is that it’s more mature then I expected and you’ll probably end up simping for Legoshi. I know I kinda did but that’s because I was so attracted to the voice of his English and Japanese actors

Fire in his fingertips - it was an accident that lead me to watching hentai for an hour but Souma is fine as hell so I’m just gonna shut up

Kuroko no basket - it’s a sports anime but it kinda feels like a video game sometimes with how powered up the main characters are but it’s still enjoyable to me. And it also has the guy who is Hawk’s English voice as Kagami

Ouran high school host club - I know I’m late to this game but it took a whole ass 5 or 6 years for the animation style to grow on me so I decided to watch it and I was enjoying it more then I expected

My hero - also late to the game but I said fuck it and watched it now. It’s fun to watch and has very little filler, and it really is just the fans that make it weird

Angel’s egg - okay so this one is probably the oldest on the list with its release date being in 1985 but it has beautiful animation style, and anyone can watch it since there is very little dialogue for you to read through

Now for a disappointment and so far it’s only been one with it being record of Ragnarok. Don’t get me wrong, reading the summery made it sound interesting and I heard the manga is very popular as well but the anime didn’t live up to the expectations. A lot of the scenes were static and that included the fight scenes so that made for pretty boring fight scenes. Static images was used for too many of the fight scenes so your attention will drift when you’re supposed to be watching Zeus and Adam the first man fight it out along with the 2 other matches. If there ever is a reboot made for it I’d only watch it if there was a better studio that took on the project cuz these guys missed the mark

You loved going out shopping with Akashi, but your lover could be too much sometimes.

Akashi seemed to have difficulty understanding the concept of “window shopping”; if you even looked at someone for longer than a glance, he’d be ready to call the nearest store associate over to purchase said item.

That led to an awkward discussion in which you insisted that you really didn’t have any burning desire to purchase the item, and it was often hard to convince Akashi that no, you were not lying, and yes, you were being completely honest with him.

It still didn’t stop the fact that sometimes things would just “coincidentally” end up on your desk at school, little gifts that you knew were from a certain redhead.

Wanting to repay the favor, you watched him intensely during the current shopping trip, finally managing to escape away with an excuse about needing to use the restroom.

It was a bit harder to dodge the bodyguards, but a quick dart into the lingerie section took care of that, the sight of lace and negligee even a bit too much for the most stoic bodyguards to be brave enough to step through

You were picking out a lovely silk tie accompanied by a silver tie pin, just having retrieved it from the clerk after you purchased it when you heard it.

“Attention _____, please come pick up your child at the nearest security booth. Attention _____…”

You stomped over to the nearest security booth, apologies already prepared for the frazzled women that was glancing nervously between you and Akashi

Not even a hint of embarrassment betrayed Akashi’s face as he looked calmly over at you, his arms crossed in front of him.

“Seijuro, did you really need to do that?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, _____.” Akashi stated, raising one perfect eyebrow at you. “You left me behind, and thus I employed an available resource to have us reunited.”

You wondered how much trouble you’d get in if you strangled Akashi instead with the new tie you had just bought.

Midorima

You’d left Midorima to his own devices at the bookstore, having picked out the necessary textbooks for the upcoming semester at school

You were browsing in the manga section, satiating your inner fujioshi as you ducked behind the displays, eagerly flipping through the new volumes available from your favorite manga artist

You’d never admit it, but one of the characters looked so much like your boyfriend, and was even a tsundere too!

It was hard to keep back your fan girlish squeals as you tucked the new releases into your shopping cart, knowing that it’d take Midorima a bit longer to finish browsing the study guides section

Your inner thirst momentarily sated, you walked up to your favorite clerk as you passed over the goodies, her face mirroring your smile as the two of you gushed over your findings

It was nice to find someone who understood, especially since you couldn’t ever imagine asking Midorima to discuss such books of such indecent nature with you

You could picture your carrot-kun in your mind saying that, but part of you wondered how adorable it’d be to see him blushing if you forced him to read the manga along with you…something you’d definitely have to consider in the future, of course

“Attention _____, your lost child is waiting for you at the security booth outside the bookstore. Attention _____…”

You quickly finish checking out, racing over with your books in hand as you come across one (1) blushing carrot and one (1) smirking, hawk-eyed basketball player

“Yo, _____-chan!” Takao waved. “I found Shin-chan for you!”

“Aww, Shin-tan, did you get lost?” You peer into Midorima’s eyes, laughing at the disgusted look on his face. “Don’t worry, I’m here now~”

“W-What nonsense, Takao simply dragged me here for no good reason!!” Midorima stuttered

You decided that it would be best to lead your green-haired boyfriend away, lest he be arrested for assault in the middle of the mall.

Aomine

“I wonder if they’ll pop if I stab them hard enough…” You muttered under your breath, sick and tired of the female staff that was hanging off of Aomine’s arm, her breasts pushed up directly against his arm in the middle of the store. There were no way that those things were real, with how perfectly round they looked…

You’d underestimated just how devoted Aomine was to lingerie, of all things. When you mentioned going shopping for some unmentionables during the weekend, he’d invited himself along. To give you an objective perspective, of course.

So why was it that he was surrounded by a gaggle of females, instead of being his usual perverted self and coming up to you with all sorts of scandalous suggestions??

Clearing your throat loudly, you stepped up to your boyfriend, gently (or at least you tried to bed) prying off the hands of the girl that was clinging to him like a barnacle.

“Excuse me, but I think we’ve got enough assistance here.” You used the most sugar sweet voice you could manage, taking Aomine’s hand and not even hiding the fact that you rested his palm against the swell of your breast. “Babe, help me find something in my size?” You asked innocently, peering up at Aomine through your lashes as you pushed your chest against his hand.

Your display of possession finally chased away the mean old biddies as you began pushing Aomine out the door, ignoring his protests. “Babe, cmon…”

“Jeez Daiki, you can at least pretend to not notice.” You pout, sitting him down outside the store. “Wait here while I go finish buying this stuff!”

You hadn’t even had a few moments to yourself when the announcement paged overhead, hearing your name being called out to pick up your….child…from the security booth.

Aomine had a shit-eating grin on his face when you marched up to him, huffing and puffing. “Sorry _____, I just couldn’t wait. Besides…”

You yelped as he grabbed you by your butt, pulling you in as he not-so-subtly grinded himself against your hip. “I have to pay you back for making you mad, hm? This is all for you, babe.”

Kise

You weren’t sure what you had been thinking when you thought that for once, the two of you could enjoy a nice, private, shopping trip to the mall.

It seemed like all of his fans were coming out of the woodwork, in droves as they lunged for your boyfriend, stopping him every moment for autographs and pictures.

You liked that Kise was kind to his fans, but sometimes, enough was enough.

You finally gave up after you were pushed to the side of the crowd, deciding to take a break to go through the newest magazines that had hit the shelves.

Grabbing the nearest one, you discovered an article on said boyfriend as you read it with interest, blushing a bit at the embarrassing pose he had on in the picture.

It was an article about love and relationships, and you read his answers to the interview questions eagerly. You couldn’t help but smile fondly at the way he answered-your relationship couldn’t go public just yet, but it was obvious at least to your eyes that he was talking about you.

There was no need for you to feel insecure about your relationship with him, you thought. You were just about to put the magazine back on the rack when you heard your name being called overhead, asking you to pick up your child from the security office.

One quick checkout later, you were running to the stop when you came across a very familiar figure-even covered in hats, sunglasses, and wrapped up in scarfs like a mummy, you’d be able to recognize Kise anywhere.

“_____-cchi!!” Kise whined, tackling you right as you came into his sight. “Where were you?!?!”

“What are you wearing, Ryouta?!” You asked, quickly unwrapping the scarves that covered his face. “Aren’t you hot underneath all of that?!”

“But we finally had some time together, and I had to figure out something!” Kise replied, tears coming to his eyes as he latched onto you. “Sorry for making you jealous, _____-cchi!!!”

“I wasn’t jealous-“

“Wait, what is that?!” Kise grabbed the magazine out of your hand before you could react, before he turned to you with a pout. “_____-cchi! Do you like my picture more than me?!?! I’m the real thing!!!”

You couldn’t even blame the staff for calling Kise your child, with his crocodile tears and the way he was stubbornly clinging to you while you tried to calm the blonde-haired model down, assuring him that no, you were not going to leave him for a picture of him at a photoshoot.

Murasakibara

Big pouty baby here, 1000000%. When I first got the request, the first person that popped into my mind was our dear Murasakibara

You were visiting him in Akita for the weekend, but the rest of the Yosen basketball team had all demanded to meet up with you too on the outing

Murasakibara was first able to be tamed with snacks as he watched you handing Okamura tissues, listening to him cry his heart out to you about his recent relationship troubles. Then you were scolding Fukui for being mean to Okamura. Liu had somehow started a conversation with you too, and you were busy trying to decipher his speech, while updating Himuro on Kagami’s latest news and how he was starting (just barely) to tolerate Nigou at practice.

Even his coach had gotten involved, and Murasakibara had pouted when you agreed to meet with her for sushi, the two of you forming a bond over how to deal with Murasakibara whenever he got too spoiled or was acting up.

Finally having enough, Murasakibara walked away, crunching the bag of potato chips in his hands. I’m going to crush them all…how dare they take all of _____-chin’s time…

You had just managed to get Okamura to stop crying when you heard your name being called overhead, your brow furrowing in confusion at the odd announcement.

It wasn’t until you were looking around and hearing Himuro commenting about how Murasakibara had wandered off that you’d run over to the security booth, meeting with one very pouty, very upset purple-haired titan.

“I definitely don’t recall giving birth to someone so large, Atsushi.” You commented, tilting your head as you tried to coax Murasakbara into bending down so you could pat his head. “What’s wrong?”

He’d been standing in the same area for several moments, pretending that he knew what he was doing, staring at the map of the mall posted on a kiosk in the center of the hall when a passing security guard finally stopped to ask if he needed help

Himuro felt embarrassed as he admitted the situation that he’d found himself in, and he covered half his face with the palm of his hand as the announcement played overhead, asking for you to pick up your child in front of the security booth.

“Tatsuya, you had me so worried!!”

Himuro apologized profusely to you as he saw the beads of sweat on your forehead. “_____, why are you so sweaty…?”

“Because I was looking for you, silly!” You stuck your tongue out at your boyfriend as you flicked him in the forehead, ignoring his soft “ow” that left his lips. “You have a phone, don’t you?”

Himuro had indeed totally forgotten that he did have a cell phone on him.

“Cellular mobile devices are helpful for contacting someone when you can’t find them, in case you didn’t know.” You lectured him, and even though he was being scolded, Himuro couldn’t help but think you were so adorable, the way your cheeks were puffed up like a squirrel.

“Sorry, sorry.” Pulling you close, he kissed you on the forehead, ignoring your protests that you were super sweaty and gross. “Thanks for finding me, _____. I’ll make sure to hold onto your hand tight the next time so I don’t get lost, okay?”

I’m torn because... on one hand, I want to give proper mythology and such for like--anything that’d be put into the show, but on the other, I liked the idea that Alix’s brother was just sort of a conspiracy who thought of stupid stuff (which is why I kept the concept for MC Jalil Kubdel).

Zoe did it really well in Scarlet Lady where Alix knew the actual mythology and started blurting it out whenever Jalil got it wrong.

Considering “Ikari Gozen,” I imagine Alya and Kagami don’t get along as well. I agree with basically everyone that Marinette and Kagami not getting along is bad, but Alya and Kagami not really getting along makes more sense and is more tolerable.

Since Alya is Marinette’s “““BFF”““ (supposedly), I could see her kind of being like, “You’re competing with my girl over the same guy,” and keeping Kagami at arm’s length, worried that keeping Kagami close will allow Kagami to be closer to Adrien since Adrien is an extension of their friend group (kinda, sorta, not really, but Marinette calling him a friend so technically--)

You know, Alya trying to be a good friend and help Marinette with Adrien in more subtle ways. It’s the wrong way to go about it but she’s trying.

LUKANETTE IS AMAZING IN TERMS OF PROGRESSION KDJNGJDFG, I ADORE IT. Every episode they share together, we either learn something new about them or see more details on their relationship.

I think I was already all-in before “Silencer,” but man, that episode just sealed it even more. I was like well dang, why does the love square even EXIST???

Ugggggh, the worst part is that I have the same exact fear that they really are going to be like yeah Ladybug you silly fool Chat Noir has been with you since the beginning!

I mean, we’re already basically getting that with the New York special; Chat was supposed to protect Paris and then didn’t tell Ladybug that he “had to” leave for New York (and the New York thing is inadvertently Marinette’s fault and parts of the fandom actually did blame her for it even though it was Chat’s choice not to say anything), then Ladybug gets upset with him when she discovers it mid-battle, which leads to Chat being distracted and Cataclysming someone (another thing that Ladybug can be “inadvertently” blamed for), then Chat gives up his miraculous so Ladybug isn’t even allowed to be angry and cue the later line of “I can’t imagine being Ladybug without... him.”

So clearly that’s saying something. Adrien doesn’t get anything close to that level and Marinette is chewed out for not asking him to stay when Nino had already asked him too.

It’s like--Marinette chooses to go after Adrien and then gets either nothing in return, or humiliated by the narrative, and then in the New York special, she decides to do nothing and everything still goes wrong while Alya yells at her for it. The “damned if she does, damned if she don’t,” on display is stunning. The girl tries to confess and it’s like, “no, not allowed, but Chat is allowed to confess.”

I still don’t understand this logic of his overarching plot but also “there’s not much of a timeline.” I think the only solid thing we’ve ever gotten was something about all the episodes in one season coming after all the episodes in a previous one, but there are still things that don’t add up? The only thing the season 3 production order will give is making sure the hero debuts work out (so no Viperion or Pegase before “Party Crasher,” for example).

It’s not really reliable. I mean, like--I’ve been experimenting with timelines for a while, and stuff like “Miraculer” baffles me. It’s basically non-canon with no value whatsoever. All it does is make “Heart Hunter” look even more confusing and treats Marinette even more horribly for not picking Chloe when she explicitly told Chloe that she wasn’t getting it back.

I’m not familiar with that one! Is it any good?

(Okay, I actually was too curious and ended up looking it up; fancy! I couldn’t have guessed that it was a webtoon! I started reading the 1st issue and before I knew it, I was on the 6th! Oops~)

And yeah, I’m not really capable of not analyzing shows. There are some small exceptions, but they’re usually not full shows in the normal sense. If there’s an ongoing plot, my mind tends to be working at all times.

In terms of Miraculous, Season 1 was harmless enough where I was bothered but pretty quiet about it, but then it just got progressively worse. It really feels like one of those things you can’t unsee when it finally hits you, y’know?

Gonna go point by point here:

1 - Yeah, the whole thing with Homura not “being able” to save everyone... kinda questionable, and I didn’t really buy the arguments they used to explain it away. I think there was this one PSP game or something with Madoka Magica where you could kind of choose what happened (like, there were bad ends where Sayaka didn’t get her soul gem back in time and her body was partially decayed; ick) and I think there’s a good end where Homura saves everyone but--yeah, not canon.

I just don’t care for twisted stories like that unless there is actually a good end on the horizon (and I mean like “Everyone Lives and is Happy” good end). Angst is just so exhausting so the second I saw Mami’s head being bitten I was just like, “Ah, okay, so we’re doing this then.”

2 - Eugh, the sexism thing. It’s so... yeah, and especially this because the whole “girls are emotional” thing, I don’t really care whether or not the show is trying to “subvert” or “explain” anything, it just feels like poor taste and I don’t like it. (I also didn’t know about that Death Note thing because I didn’t watch it, but geez.)

3 - Wow, I’ve been away from the show for so long that I forgot what Mami’s wish was; I thought it was to “not be alone” or something (or maybe not die alone?? I really don’t remember), but either way, the fact that it follows some sort of genie wish logic is just--*sigh*--they’re teenage girls, come on (plus, the “genie wish logic” is really overdone to me anyway).

4 - The other thing about Sayaka is that it’s really predictable that she’d “die so quickly.” Basically everything was pointing to her just being annihilated at some point, and being Madoka’s best friend, it was pretty inevitable that she’d go.

((semi-unrelated, but someone also asked me which character’s name was lied about before episode 3 hit and they wondered if it was Sayaka’s; it was Kyubey’s))

I think the main ship from Given (Mafuyu and Ritsuka) is really adorable (you might’ve seen the amusing video of their love being mutual before), and while I would’ve said the same thing for the kinda-sorta side ship, it gets--uh... really bad during the movie/rest of the manga, I’ll just say that much.

Inuyasha kinda? Though Inuyasha and Kagome are definitely not the kind of romantic chemistry that I lean towards (I find “the bickering couple” to be rather exhausting). Plus, Cardcaptor Sakura did the “male tsundere” better than Inuyasha did (though the Clear Card Arc was terrible, at least it’s not canon kinda-sorta? idk it seems like a mix of the anime and manga so...).

I mean, there’s probably a couple more examples somewhere, but--yeah, I’ve got nothing. Maybe if I thought back to all the generic children shows I watched when I was little (like those old Disney live-action shows; I had no taste when I was younger), there might’ve been something that satisfied kid me but idk.

I don’t remember what post inspired this, but I have no problem answering regardless, ahaha~

My main issue is Aang’s attitude about the whole thing. I’m not saying it was right of Katara to go out and get “revenge via murder” exactly, but I also think that Zuko had the right idea with allowing her to go and face the man who killed her mother so she could get some form of closure (also note that Zuko doesn’t express any sort of opinion when Katara decides not to kill him; he just wanted her to have whatever she thought she needed to heal).

It’s also the episode where Zuko directly confronts Aang on his “violence isn’t the answer” rhetoric which then goes completely ignored as Aang lionturtles his way out of the conflict. Aang is also not confronted on his point of “forgiveness is the first step to healing” (when Katara has a right not to forgive and Aang isn’t challenged outside of Katara commenting on it) and was permitted to ride his high horse when Katara “steals” Appa like, “It's okay, because I forgive you... that give you any ideas?” which is just--

reaaaaaally "holier than thou”-esque when Aang is like, ten, and Katara is a sort of motherly figure to him. The episode even has Sokka praise Aang for how “wise” he is and I groaned through the entire thing.

Another smaller thing is that it sort of makes the air kingdom look way too “perfect” by having Aang be the “source of wisedom,” especially when it’s like “violence isn’t the answer” while all the other airbenders are dead.

Happy birthday to my birthday buddy Hiroshi Kamiya! Technically, our birthdays are both on the 28th, but technically, mine would’ve been the 29th in Japan... oh well, we’re still birthday buddies. OnS Theories (S5) - Fifth Theory - Mahiru and Guren. A promise that will last in eternity, and the sacrifice required to save humanity. Warning: Long theory

This will be one of the longest theories I'll share or update. I've been quite dull or not motivated when it comes to theories (honestly I should be motivated, the story is going to reach a new phase but well, let's proceed!)

The last 3 chapters of the manga made us understand that Guren plans to do something in the dark in order to achieve this "betrayal". The most common thing to see or especulate is that Guren ends up being possessed by Mahiru and ends up attacking others or perhaps that he might end up making an alliance with the first progenitor; even so, knowning Kagami, he's probably giving another direction towards this "betrayal". I could be wrong but well, this is a theory.

To begin with, let's start diving this huge theory in parts, first Guren and Mahiru's relationship; so far, their relationship is quite awkward but at the same time there's trust between them, there's love and sacrifice; therefore, what kind of relationship do they have?

Well, this will be in base to the Light Novel; which is the point on which everything started; Mahiru and Guren were two beings from different worlds; until someone decided to oppose or reject the decisions the first progenitor made against humanity; therefore that person decided to weaken the Hiragi family and after 500 years, that person ended up making two kids meet each other; that person is obviously Rigr Stafford. Even if he sought to divide even more the Hiragi family he never expected that love would bloom between them; therefore Guren and Mahiru started to meet up in secret until Tenri Hiragi discovered them and ended up separating them for 10 years.

After that, we know so far that Guren tried to look for Mahiru, he tried to understand her plans; he wanted to save her; even so, he couldn't grasp to a certain extend what Mahiru's plans were until he started looking up her research materials mainly because Mahiru left them specially for Guren to find out the truth slowly.

To give more focus on their relationship (not love but more like partners in crime, more like two souls that trusted each other) Guren and Mahiru trusted on each other in a way no one else does; even so, there was something that Mahiru never told Guren and that was her destiny; thaat she was living in order to die.

With this, Mahiru looked and experimented with the Hyakuya sect's help in order to give humanity the tools to fight the apocalypse or the catastrophe; just like making Guren and Shinoa survive the catastrophe; still, Mahiru never told Guren that she needed to die, that she needed to sacrifice herself thanks to a superior being and the fact that she only had someone who could call her family, that being Shinoa; Mahiru gave everything for her in order to make Shinoa live a "peaceful" life in a way the Hiragi family wouldn't bother with her lifestyle.

With this, Guren ended up wondering why he couldn't catch Mahiru no matter the effort he gave; and this is related with the previous parragraph, if Mahiru told Guren about her life, Guren would have done something worst in order to stop her from dying even so, if this had happened, Guren would have ended up dead.

Therefore, the relationship between both of them can be described as one of the purest even if the current Mahiru is a demon, there's trust; Mahiru is not a demon, she might be selfish but, there's something that lingers her to remain and keep herself from being a total careless demon. Now relating with the light novels; the reason why Mahiru killed Guren's friends...it is quite the dark story even so, if she didn't kill them, the JIDA would have killed them without mercy, therefore in order to leave Guren in peace, Mahiru ended up killing and commiting atrocities; and something the fandom tends to forget is that; before Mahiru died, she was a vampire, not a demon; she wasn't a namanari or anything; she was a sired vampire by the third progenitor Krul Tepes.

Now, with all of this, ¿what does Shinoa have to do with their relationship?

To begin with this, we know Mahiru loved Shinoa to no end; to the point she gave up her life with the sole purpose to allow Shinoa have a normal life, in order to make Shinoa have a certain amount of freedom or getting her rid of their own father, Tenri Hiragi. This is mainly because Tenri would have ended up using Shinoa as a human weapon if Mahiru didn't come up with plans or strategies. But focusing to the main point; Mahiru knew that she wasn't going to be able to give Shinoa the best future, because she knew that Shinoa's demon would return with her, therefore, Mahiru focused on teaching her sister how to close up her heart, how to hide her emotions even if it hurt; even so, there was a sole feeling Mahiru couldn't erase or erradicate, that being "love".

Why love?

Love is one of the feelings that holds a huge weight in the story; and this is mainly because it makes humans do a lot of actions, making them stop thiking about the danger, putting their lives at stake in order to reach their loved ones.

Even so, Mahiru knew that if Shinoa kept loving her or kept having this feeling for her; Shikama Doji would end up taking possession of her sister before she could grow up and develop; therefore, in the light novel when Kureto warned Guren about killing Shinoa; Mahiru told Kureto to do whatever he pleased, making Shinoa's feelings break into peaces and making her doubt about the truth of everyone's words.

Now, how does this affect Guren?

Guren was the 2nd person Shinoa trusted in; and this is mainly because so far, Shinoa didn't hold any affective feeling towards Guren even if she knew he was someone close to her sister; even though she knew Guren seeked to save her sister no matter what; at the same time, Mahiru shared secret information about Shinoa to Guren; giving as a result a certain amount of trust between Guren and Shinoa; asides from this, after the catastrophe, it could be expeculated that somehow Guren ended up taking care of Shinoa and this is mainly because Shinoa was used to live up by herself, therefore after the catastrophe, it can be said that she was left alone again; making Guren to check on her from time to time.

Returning to the main point; what's the eternal vow between Guren and Mahiru?

Their promise mainly focuses on giving hope to the human world; to the destroyed world, which means, they would follow up their schemes in order to restore humanity, even if they needed to commit dirty acts, betrayals and so on.

This can be proved mainly because of how Guren ends up making people turn around, making them feel confused and everything; mainly because he learnt this from Mahiru but also with the same reason he seeks to protect those he loves even if it means to hide the truth from them.

At the same time, that vow would focus as well on Mahiru's family, that being Shinoa; which means, no matter how hard the path was, they would find the way to put an end to everything.

Now, about that sacrifice, how does this relate with their eternal vow?

Guren is known as an anti-hero, which means he took the path of darkness with the sole purpose to see that glorious day; even so, Guren is tired, he has lost a lot of things mainly due to stuff of the past; and this is something we could see in chapter 56; Mahiru noticed that Guren's heart was at his limit, Guren couldn't stand holding the secret, seeing how time was running out.

Therefore, inside of that sacrifice; Guren will focus on reaching the place Rigr and Shikama are; that being said, Guren won't focus on killing Shikama, because even at the currrent time, Saito believes that Guren will be in Shinjuku; even so, their main focus is that, once Mahiru takes Guren's body, he'll find a way to have a short distance with the first progenitor; of course that'd surprise Shinya and company but, the result of this is with the sole purpose of one thing, to sacrifice everything in order to seal or at least to stop Shikama for a certain amount of time once again; meaning that Guren's body might end up being lost in the process.

Now, what does this suggest?

So far we know that Shikama is almost God, he was resting inside Tenri-s body until he died by Kureto-s hands< even when Mahiru was alive, she adquired or at least assimilated Shikama inside her body with the sole purpose to make Guren and her erradicate a certain amount of his part while the other was confined in a cursed gear; what does that mean? It means that Mahiru looked for a way to seal Shikama, that way he wouldn't be able to contact Shinoa easily; which is something that can be seen in chapter 73; since he wasn't able to enter in Shinoa's heart, he focused on another subject that he could invade.

Therefore, it's possible that Guren and Mahiru might end up facing Rigr, and after that, these two end up facing the first progenitor in a way to proceed to make a ritual or something similar to a seal in order to keep him restrained. On this point, it could be possible that Guren might end up losing a lot but at the same time, this will allow Mitsuba's squad to find a key to face up the first and finish up with Shinoa's possession.

With the sacrifice, is also possible that Guren might end up saying goodbye to Yu and even it might be possible that he ends up revealing how to save Shinoa in base of Mahiru's research.

The kny ocs are siblings with noncanon breaths (breath of spirits and breath of stars) the older one, Makishi is a pillar who uses breath of spirit- having a memento of a fallen person allows him to use a move based on them. (Alotta angst potential since their family was hunted for being part of the sun breathers). Kagami, the younger sister is also a pillar (for less time) uses breath of star and can make like comet-y moves? Havent fleshed her out much yet, but shes kinda like a shrine maiden type?? N e way, Makishi has a heart of gold and is highkey in love with shinobu, even if hes deathly afraid of insects (a man who suffers because he drink respect women juice and respects a girls interests!!1!). He does put a lot of pressure on himself to be a good role model esp for the younger generation, and works tirelessly to make people happy. He does quarrel with his sister but healthily, they dont have crazy big fights, unless one of them was being reckless. Theyre all that eachother have, and they work hard to keep eachother safe. Makishi is kinda one of those soft kind boys, but will throw hands if necessary, while kagami is kinda the tired mom friend esp for tanjirou and nezuko. She really looks up to rengoku and appreciates alot of the pillars, and wishes she could be useful to them!

Okay I just finished watching KnY and OMGGG I love it so much!! The art and animation are sooo good. I should probably read the manga so I know what happens... I have a feeling a bunch of my faves will die (because that’s always what happens when I get rapidly attached, but LETS SEE).

Last Game Summary *MAJOR SPOILERS*

MAJOR SPOILERS! If you don’t want to be spoiled about Last Game just don’t read this. Also, for those who are gonna spazz and post about the summary PLEASE DON’T SPOIL FOR OTHERS WHO DON’T WISH TO BE SPOILED. (There are people trust me). The show I went to had the liveviewing for the seiyuu greetings as well so I’ll write a bit of that after this.

Now if you want to be spoiled, please continue!!

I’ll start off with some basics. Granted being an anime adaptation they had to cut some scenes from the manga, such as Seirin practicing in the beginning so we don’t see the new first years, Akashi talking with everyone about Bokushi coming back, Riko talking about the issue with their teamwork, Kise and Kagami freaking out over Kuroko missing, Nijimura at the end (I WANTED TO SEE NIJIMURA), the “fillers” as I would call them. But I guess with the time limit they had to cut those ;n;

But now I understand the “original story” concept they added and why it’s called “Last Game” rather than “Extra Game”

Okay actual movie report. I had to try to memorize almost 3 hours worth of stuff (Movie & greetings) so I apologize if I don’t include everything but I’ll try my best.

Movie opens up with Kagami transferring to his middle school in Japan after moving back from America and joining the basketball club. He makes a dunk and accidentally knocks down someone in the process. Much like his current self, he extends a hand and apologizes as he tries to help the guy up, but the guy comments how he saw how Kagami’s face looked like he’s playing as if he was bored. Time progresses and people note how Kagami is always alone at school because the basketball club doesn’t like him. Kagami looks out a window saying it’s boring and he wants someone to do something about it.

Scene then cuts to the current time where it’s hot in the summer as Kagami walks to Seirin. Then we see Kuroko was actually behind him with Nigou in his bag saying it was his turn today to take care of Nigou. Kagami then gets a call from Alex but we don’t hear the conversation. Then we see Alex and an American coach who praises how good of a player Kagami is. Alex responds by she guarantees Kagami loves basketball more than anyone. The coach asks her if he can be expecting a “good answer” from Kagami.

Kagami and Kuroko arrive at Seirin (late of course) just before the Team Strky match begins. The news introduces Jabberwock on the screen. Seirin talks about how amazing it is for Kagetora to guide them and that’s how Hyuuga and Riko got live tickets for the exhibition match. Izuki mutters if things are “going well” for those two and Koganei mentally tells Hyuuga to be a man and “clutch” her heart. At the court, Hyuuga sneezes. XD  We see the rest of the GoM and their teams excited for the match too. Yosen in particular died seeing Okamura’s new hair haha. Hyuuga has a quick flashback to a phonecall with Kiyoshi (who’s at a hospital for rehab) how Kiyoshi’s heard of Jabberwock but has heard many bad rumors about them which Hyuuga then grows worried.

The match between Jabberwork and Team Strky begins. The animation for this was insane. Team Strky starts off strong and each member gets a turn in the spotlight, though Kasamatsu and Imayoshi get a bit more naturally. Then Jabberwork was super fast and seeing them making of fun of Team Strky was really heartbreaking. Kasamatsu offers to shake hands despite the loss but Nash takes the chance to make fun of everyone as we all know then spits in Kasamatsu’s hand. Kagetora proposes the revenge match which we all know who the members are.

The GoM arrive at the gym commenting how they never thought this would happen again. Unlike the manga where most of them were bickering with each other over Interhigh they cut that part out and just had them greet each other calmly. Kise asks Kagetora if those two were coming and he replies of course. Akashi comments how they were the ones who beat them so how could they not. Kuroko and Kagami then arrive which Momoi immediately glomp tackles Kuroko. Hyuuga, Takao, and Wakamatsu arrive as well as the bench members. They even had the scene where Hyuuga questions himself if it was okay to be there and Akashi reads his mind and tells him he’s more than welcome XD. They show a bit of the GoM practicing, like a quick scene for each character, then it cuts to the day before the match. Kagetora tells Riko and Momoi he’s going to Roppongi to watch over Jabberwocks to prevent them from going crazy which Riko worries. These scenes are pretty much teh same as the manga. Kuroko overhears Kagetora and Riko’s conversation. Kise then asks Kagami to have a one on one match. Aomine asks if anyone’s seen Kuroko and Midorima says he hasn’t been seeen since Kagetora left, which Kise and Kagami look at them blankly.

Jabberwocks are at a club and sees Kagetora arrive asking why he was there. Then they see Kuroko which Kagetora freaks out asking why he was there. (All in Japanese) Kuroko confronts Jabberwock in the same way as the manga. For censorship reasons, instead of a punch to the face Nash kicks Kuroko in the stomach before the GoM arrives. (Oh yeah they had the running scene before commenting how Kuroko is so reckless, unpredictable, etc). Akashi stops Aomine and Kagami before a fight breaks out and tells them to save it for the match as Kuroko wishes (same as the manga) and they start to leave. Jabberwock makes fun of them for chickening out which Akashi retorts back in ENGLISH, “Shut up you scum! You guys better be ready to lose. We’re gonna mop the floor with you tomorrow.”

The next day is the actual match. Seirin comments how they’re playing in a stadium which Izuki replies that Jabberwork made fun of basketball for not only Team Strky, but the entire country. So of course many people are going to come to watch the match. All the other schools are watching as well. Mayuzumi comes in too later in the match (and he talks! He just provides random commentary every now and then) The stadium is decorated with Jabberwock and Vorpal Sword banners everywhere and on the monitor it shows the Vorpal Swords member info much like the first promo they did. (It’s the same picture for Akashi as my icon for those who can’t remember which one).  Silver says in English “Hey you babies! Did you remember to put on your diapers??” The match for the most part follows the manga so I won’t go too much into detail. (ALso I just don’t remember every single thing about it or that’s worth nothing). VS starts off strong until Jabberwock starts taking them seriously. For more details on the match please just read the manga as it follows most of that, if not all. They did include all the big points though, such as Midorima’s 3 pointers, Kise and Aomine team play, Kagami teaming up with Aomine and Mukkun, Kise going into the Zone, the short Kise and Aomine Teiko flashback with Momoi crying, Aomine vs Silver, Akashi vs Nash and his Devil Eye, oh yeah BOKUSHI. Mayuzumi comments how even with Emperor Eye, Akashi was still being pushed back. They did include the scene of Kise talking to Kasamatsu telling him to win for the sake of their hard work so far and Okamura teaching Mukkun after Winter Cup. They also included Akashi and Midorima’s miracle play (same as Takao). Takao comments how he knows what’s gonna happen and he’s amazed but also frustrated at the same time. He seemed a bit sad about it ;w; Mukkun breaks his wrist like in the manga and Kuroko takes over. KUROKO WAS PISSEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD DAMN KUROKO YOU SCARY. For Kuroko’s comeback after switching with Mukkun, they played a new insert song, “Against the Wind” by no other than Ono Kensho! Bokushi’s farewell was done quite well. If you remember the original Yu-Gi-Oh and how you often saw a transparent Yugi talking to Yami Yugi it was similar to that. Bokushi was playing as he was talking to Oreshi who was transparent next to him, saying he needs to disappear for the Emperor Eye to be complete. Oreshi’s heartbroken face was a stab right to your own heart *sobs* As Bokushi says farewell and thank you, their fingers are briefly partly locked together before Oreshi walks away letting go of Bokushi. (Oh for you fans out there this time theyr’e actually naked). Mayuzumi notices Akashi’s change. Akashi makes use of his fully developed Emperor Eye and VS attacks Jabberwock with less than 30 sec remaining. They manage to narrow it to down by 1 point and as we know, Kuroko steals the ball and Aomine and Kagami finish it up. So very similar to the manga just much better because the ANIMATION IS AMAZING ESPECIALLY FOR KISE’S SCENES OR ANY SCENE WITH TEH ZONE.  Vorpal Swords win and everyone is happy. Mayuzumi also smiled! 

Kagetora throws them a party at his gym where he’s drunk and tells everyone to drink up! Hyuuga tells him that they’re only high schoolers but Kagetora tells them juice is okay! Momoi comments how Kagetora likes to spend money and Riko gets embarrassed asking her to forget about it. The GoM are together enjoying all the junk food (including Akashi) and Kise says he wonders what news Kagami has to say. (Oh yeah the Seirin first year trio is there too. Oh should say second year trio now). Kagami and Kuroko are seen alone in a different room looking out the window. Then we see the two of them talking with Seirin. Kagami announces he’s going back to America. They ask if it’s like the time he went back for training but Kagami says it’s different. He’s been recruited to a very good high school and will work to become an NBA player. Everyone in Seirin is shocked and tells Kuroko to say something about it (who all this time has had a sad expression). Then they ask if Kuroko knew about it the entire time and Kuroko answers yes because he was coincidentally there when Kagami got the call from Alex. Seirin was sad but they tell Kagami that they’ll support his decision. THe GoM then comes out having overheard everything. Kise comments how he noticed Kagami was acting a bit weird. Aomine sulks saying HE should be the one recruited to which Midorima asks him since when did he become “number one.?” . Everyone else in their own way expresses their happiness for kagami. Akashi tells Kagami that the GoM gives their support to him and thanks him for the matches they played against him . Akashi also says that Kagami was not only their best rival, but also their best friend.  Akashi suggests it’d be sad for Kagami to just leave like that and as the GoM they’ve already had the greatest match with Kagami, so as a farewell present for Seirin he suggests one last match. Seirin vs the GoM. Everyone is shocked and Akashi assures them he’s already prepared their uniforms in which Koganei screams “HOW FAR CAN YOU SEE INTO THE FUTURE?!?!?” Seirin asks if they’re okay playing a match and the GoM assures they have enough strength to play another game and Kise says if necessary they can use the subs (Wakamatsu and Takao) and Seirin could change out too.  We see them on the court for the Tip Off (GoM is in their VS uniforms and Seirin in their school ones) but we don’t know the outcome. Yes even Mukkun decided to play with one arm.....XD;

Then we see Kagami and Seirin at the airport. Kagami politely thanks them and he’ll do his best and becoming an NBA player will be easy for him and shakes hand with Kuroko. Being quite formal about it. Kuroko thanks Kagami and wishes him luck. As Kagami lines up to go through the gate, he starts to regret not thanking Kuroko properly and leaving with just a handshake. He runs back just as Kuroko was leaving and yells at Kuroko that he was wrong and lied and that he realized that becoming a pro is going to be difficult and he’ll struggle and that Kuroko has done so much for him and that HE was the one should be thanking Kuroko and starts crying. Kuroko with his back towards him, wipes his eyes and turns to him and says “Well of course there’s going to be obstacles. Did you really think that you could become a pro THAT easily? Struggle more” Kagami is a bit shocked that Kuroko was talking to him like that, but then Kuroko says that if it’s Kagami he can overcome them. Kuroko also starts tearing up and raises his hand in a fistbump saying he’ll always be Kagami’s shadow. Kagami smiles back and raises his fist back at him and the scene/movie ends with the two of them smiling with their fists out as they stood apart.

THE END. TIME FOR GRANRODEO’S NEW SONG IN THE CREDITS

Okay not the end. After the credits there was a short post-scene.

We see an airplane flying away and Kise says “So he’s gone huh....?”. We see the GoM together on a bench watching the plane depart outside somewhere . Mukkun says “So that means we’ll never play against Kagami again?” And Aomine  says “No way” and Midorima agrees. Aomine declares he’ll go to America. Kise asks if it’s to see Kagami and Aomine says “Of course not, BAKA! I’m gonna become an NBA player!” Kise asks when and Aomine responds that he doens’t know yet but it’ll be soon. They ask what did Midorima mean (about fighting against Kagami) and Midorima smiles and says that it’s pretty much a given that they’re all going to continue playing basketball. Akashi smiles and agrees and says that only the stage has changed and that as long as they play basketball they’ll be able to fight Kagami again. We see Kuroko running and smiling as he meets back up with Seirin who were waiting outside for him.

The ending card is very similar to the photo of Seirin winning Winter Cup. All of the Vorpal Swords members are on the court smiling raising fist bumps with a giant banner that says “Vorpal Swords,” including Kagetora, Riko, Momoi, Hyuuga, Takao, and Wakamatsu.

Ask Explosion #3:

I think Felix would be confused to hear that Adrien is already involved with her, maybe even questioning why a “bold, strong girl like Kagami” would be interested in Adrien. He might also insist that it’s Kagami’s choice and he’s not exactly going to “give up.” Not that he’d pursue Kagami aggressively, but just that he’d hang out with her in “totally friendly” manners.

Bonus if Kagami catches on very quickly and Felix rolls with it and insists that he’s worthy of her, which leads to Kagami going on a bunch of dates with him to prove otherwise. Adrien is lowkey panicking that he’s going to lose Kagami to Felix when Kagami returns, super casually, and tells him that he had nothing to worry about and that’s why she so confidently went on all those dates (or I guess there could be an alternate Feligami ending for people too).

I admittedly have never heard of the Mid-Autumn Festival before this ask, so it’s hard to say because I haven’t experienced it.

It would be acceptable in a young person’s fanfiction but not in an actual TV show. I’m fine with flirting but there has to be a limit (Astruc said once I think that it’s something Chat has to work through - don’t recall if it was the flirting or how it disrupted battle - and I’m 65% sure that Kagami exists just to pull Adrien out of his Ladybug crush just enough to where he doesn’t get distracted so the writers don’t have to put focus into teaching him a lesson).

Yes, absolutely. I’d give her an 8.5/10.

And... yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case, especially considering all the people they gave a miraculous to Gilbert du Motier, so it wouldn’t be a stretch.

That’s one quote I don’t remember and also is one I do not have on hand so that I can conveniently roast Astruc for it.

“Recommend” is a hard word. I don’t really “recommend” things to people unless I know them on a personal level. I just say what I like and let people go from there.

The other thing is that, with shows at least, I do this thing I call “clipcutting,” which is basically taking out most/all of the aspects of a show that I hate (yes, I am that petty) so I can just have one product where I can watch without the garbage (”garbage” being a broad-ish term; sometimes it’s just “this part is meh and I can live without it”).

For example:

(For reference, average episodes are about 20-22 minutes, I considered “Origins” enough to be its own clipcut, and Part 1 of Season 1 would be a little less than double its length without me clipcutting it. And before anyone asks, the filesize for “Desperada” is so big because I didn’t have the logoless version yet and encoding is a hassle on my computer so I wanted to save it; these pictures are old but get the point across.)

So my views on some shows might be flavored slightly because I watch them without the stuff I deem to be “garbage.” For example, I watched Inuyaha back in the day, but I also gave a big “no” to Miroku’s flirting and a lot of the love drama (also basically any time Kagome went back to the modern era because I get second-hand embarrassment).

Note that none of my “libraries” are that big just because I like to keep my interests small.

Shows (anime): Bloom Into You (I don’t recommend this unless Season 2 gets and I also haven’t read the manga just in case it does so I don’t know how the full story ends), Given, Cells at Work, and Asegao to Kase-san (clipcutted to remove the PG-13 bits so I can just have cute lesbian fluff)

Shows (live-action): Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (I adore campiness and this show is full of it) and Good Eats (because food science)

Movies: Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs (I got an ask about this one and I’d very much like to gush about it but my keyboard is on the fritz; even answering basic asks like these can be tedious) and Beauty and the Beast (the 2014 French movie and also the original Disney movie)

Games: PIKMIIIIIN (I adore this series so much), the original Spyro trilogy (I never played the remastered version), The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Slime Rancher, and a few games in the Sonic series (Unleashed is my favorite and I will die on that hill); there are also “smaller” games that I don’t really count (like Diner Dash and the Azada series).

I presume there’s no connection. Might just be “this sounds like this other language’s word by coincidence.”

Probably not. I watched the Japanese dub and both it and the English dub are so different that I feel awkward talking about one and not the other (which I haven’t seen).

I will say though that I watched the Clear Card Arc and I hate it with a burning passion. It’s basically like--all the tropes from the original that I didn’t like, rehashed, then slapped on with even more keeping Sakura in the dark. That whole thing made me outright dislike a bunch of characters (Syaoran, Touya, why did you betray me) and it wastes so much time with characters implying but not saying and also having an entire episode based on telling a story about a fox who wants to buy gloves (which I imagine is some metaphor for something but it’s a BORING metaphor).

Oh, and taking time out of an episode to talk about cheesecake. That too. Can we please not?

Top Five Yuuki Ono Roles

In honour of Yuuki Ono’s birthday, I decided to make a top five role list. 

As usual, for me to put a character on this list, I would’ve had to watch at least a couple of episode of their given series with their character in it or at least a good number of clips that showcase them or something. It’s really by my own bias discretion. Since a lot of good roles don’t make it onto the list (because I don’t watch all their roles), I would like to give a few honourable mentions before we start the top five.

Honourable Mentions (That I Haven’t Watched):

Josuke Higashikata (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure):

Okay, I still haven’t watched Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure yet, but I want to watch it eventually. I’ve seen clips and stuff, but I only know that you shouldn’t insult this guy’s hair. That’s about it. I want to watch it just to see some of my favourite seiyuu being badass though. 

Taiga Kagami (Kuroko no Basuke):

Here’s the second most popular Taiga in anime! I just count Taiga Aisaka as the first for obvious reasons. I just have a habit of avoiding sports anime. All I know is, you got yourself a crap-ton of puns and a gay rainbow with a huge exaggeration of basketball (gosh I hate basketball and volleyball because of my experience in real life which obviously have no relation to me being a puny wimp or anything). Anyways, here’s a character whose name isn’t a colour pun.

Shogun (Gintama):

He appears in episode 83 for the first time. I haven’t made it there yet. I do know his fate, but let’s just leave it at that. I’m not ready for the serious side of Gintama. Let’s just keep it at making fun of Shinpachi, please. But seriously, the clips I’ve seen make me think that Shogun is going to bring some good comedic relief with a darker twist. Let’s see how that goes.

5. Karasawa (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou)

I can already hear the back of my mind going, “This is such a small role. This doesn’t deserve to be here.” Small character or not, I seriously liked this show. The only reason why I gave it a seven out of ten instead of an eight or nine is because the comedy for me is always hit and miss. Sadly, there were quite a few misses which I can’t just ignore. But don’t get me wrong, I really liked this show. If I were to change anything, maybe give this guy some more screen time, and give the high school girls some more good stuff. Honestly, all of them were kind of bitchy, but I would like to see what other high school girl stuff they can include (without them being bitchy). But seriously, Karasawa had some really funny moments. The cast was one of the things that made the show so funny, and I wouldn’t want to read the web manga for that reason. 4. Pin-senpai (Arai Kazuichi)

Another supporting role? Yeah, he has more supporting roles than lead roles in the anime I watch. This character is really simple, but he’s a nice breath of fresh air because hear me out, this series is a cheesy rom-com. To have a character that isn’t involved in relationships (so far) is really nice. He’s only in for the humour, and I like that just fine. He does a good job with it too. Here are some clips of Pin.

3. Masayuki Hori - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

(I don’t know about you, but these are OTP goals)

He’s technically a supporting role, but he’s kind of a main supporting role if you get what I mean. Hori is one half of the comedic duo that’s Kashima and Hori. They break down the stereotype that only girls are the “tsunderes” of relationships, and it’s really funny while doing it. I loved watching Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I still rewatch some of it to this day. Even if my favourite characters are Seo and Mikorin, I have to applaud the rest of the cast because this is a colourful show where the cast is really what makes the show great. Clips of Hori

2. Ashiya Shirou - Hataraku Maou-sama

I didn’t enjoy this anime as much as people said I would. My sense of humour is weird. I didn’t like the actual storyline. I found the overarching “supernatural” elements really weak, and so is the romance for that matter. The real good stuff from this show is in the comedy (where they spent a good chunk of their time). He’s the housewife while the demon king is the breadwinner who works at McDonald's (call it what you will, that place is McDonald's). He’s committed, devoted, and I really wouldn’t be surprised if someone on Tumblr made a yaoi/gay ship out of this. Somehow, Tumblr never fails in finding some weird ships that I didn’t know existed. Here are a couple of my favourite scenes here and here and here. They’re less than a minute each. I think one is about five seconds. And one of them has subtitles that go by fast, but it doesn’t matter. That priceless scream from Osaka Ryota and Yuuki Ono during the five-second one though.

1. Kaname Tsukahara - Kimi to Boku

Why does nobody seem to watch this show or read the manga? Why is this manga on hiatus? How long has it been? Is the mangaka feeling better yet? Mangaka need to take better care of themselves (I shouldn’t be the one saying that with the habits I have). But seriously, would you look at that? Here’s a role where he’s the protagonist. Kaname is our glasses protagonist who seems to be a good student, but he still hangs out with his group of weird friends who he has known since childhood (for the most part). Kaname is different from the rest of them, and they definitely do a lot to make sure of that, and I really liked the way that each of the characters is portrayed in this show. The cast is kind of stacked. Not going to lie, I watched it to hear Kouki Uchiyama playing a quiet character with some toned down edge. It’s so simple yet so nice to watch.
