I was shopping for band tees for the hold steady while talking to a friend about wanting to see minnesota. and the hold steady is my fav band and I'm always thinking about them and though they're based from brooklyn they're all from minneapolis and write all their songs about it.

so minnesota has ended up taking on a kind of mythological stature to me

remembering the hold steady and minnesota and baseball and just recalled this story from one time when I saw them

I was in LA with my baseball journalist cousin. we drove down ways from like frenso-ish in the central valley down to the city for the show

we got to the venue... or rather this vegan burger joint just adjacent to the venue... (it was good)

20 min lil journey huffing and puffing down the sidewalk vibing with the vibrant night light as twilight settled in.

I got back my cousin told me craig was just there wearing a twins cap and they talked for a sec because he liked their shirt.

that's how I didn't meet craig finn from the hold steady
