America’s First Daughter and her friends are on a countdown to stop a terrorist group and keep her family safe.  Lots of twists and action-packed pace!

So many mixed feelings.  I am a series fan, but now... I don’t think I am any more.  The last few have fallen off, but I just keep trying.  I think this one cured me.  So much of nothing for me and Emily drove me nuts with her autocratic snobbery for what was best for the poor and her flaky behavior elsewhere.  Pretty bad when I preferred the secondary story of reading about a medieval lady doing embroidery.

Just how much can one woman take and keep coming back.  A bit, apparently.  I enjoyed this tough, survival adventure story and love that the author isn’t afraid to write a vulnerable character who faces life.

Hannah’s story builds from Grants.  She was a tough heroine in some ways, but was a mess in others.  I enjoyed how the author brought her along and gave her and Detective Brody Mcnamara an intense case.

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

Psychological Thriller

It got off slow, the heroine was a jerk and an alcoholic, but the last third of the book redeemed it and got exciting.

Newness & Wonder by Alexis Lynne

Contemporary Romance, Holiday Romance

Heartwarming and sweet.  Loss and family, friendship and slow-burn love.  A quick-read that was a well-developed holiday wrapped romance.

Light-hearted and fun, but a smidge of spice and a devious ex kept it interesting.

Final leg of the trilogy tells Mac Barrett’s story with side character police detective Stella Dane.  Amazing combo of all elements done with depth.  Action from a killer, a gang, and drug dealers in the jungle paired with a need to heal from past issues for both Mac and Stella made this the best for last.
