Mixed bag.  Loved the sweet beta hero making good, but got frustrated with the heroine who just could not get out of her own way.

Fun variation on P&P with the focus on a fiercer Jane Bennet and Bingley.

Came highly praised and turned out to not be unwarranted.  The wry wit and interesting way of making the character engaging while very much not human and the suspense was great.

I snatched up book two and enjoyed Murderbots further adventures that now include an amazing ship AI system who wants to be friends and helps Murderbot fill in the gaps that his erased memory need.  Need I say he finds more trouble of the human variety and things get intense again.

Minutes to Kill by Melinda Leigh, narrated by Cris Dukehart

Hannah’s story builds from Grants.  She was a tough heroine in some ways, but was a mess in others.  I enjoyed how the author brought her along and gave her and Detective Brody Mcnamara an intense case.

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

Psychological Thriller

It got off slow, the heroine was a jerk and an alcoholic, but the last third of the book redeemed it and got exciting.

Newness & Wonder by Alexis Lynne

Contemporary Romance, Holiday Romance

Heartwarming and sweet.  Loss and family, friendship and slow-burn love.  A quick-read that was a well-developed holiday wrapped romance.

Aton by Cara Bristol

Light-hearted and fun, but a smidge of spice and a devious ex kept it interesting.

Final leg of the trilogy tells Mac Barrett’s story with side character police detective Stella Dane.  Amazing combo of all elements done with depth.  Action from a killer, a gang, and drug dealers in the jungle paired with a need to heal from past issues for both Mac and Stella made this the best for last.
