Do you guys have a headcanon/theory for dndads that isn't EXPLICITLY stated to be true but you 100% believe it was intended to be?

I'll go first; in the mountains of dadness, we hear about Willy as a kid and how his dad was an alcoholic and died from it, which is why stud takes him in. I fully believe that willys dad was beating him. There's no way that Willy as a kid was just killing cats for funzies without having learned physical violence from somewhere. Sure it COULD be because hes "just like that" but in a podcast on generational trama and cycles of abuse, it makes sense that while Willy didn't HIT Ron, he still passed on abuse in a different form. He might see it as "better" because at least Ron wasn't going to school with black eyes and bruised ribs like he was. Who cares if it's neglect or emotional abuse because if it's not leaving scars it doesn't count. OBVIOUSLY Willy was old enough to know better and he's still a piece of shit, but I think it makes him more interesting if he was once just as helpless as Ron was. Did he see himself in his son when he tried to drown him? Did that make his grip tighter? Did it make him push deeper? If you are your father in the eyes of your son, then who is he to you?

GUYYYYYYSSS the crew boys on the titanic (ep 43) are carl and stud stampler ‼️‼️REAL NOT FAKE ‼️‼️

proof:

-the titanic was heading to new york city, where stud lived before moving to san dimas to take care of willy

-the older of the two is drinking whiskey while they play soccer, carl (stud’s older brother/willy’s dad) died pre-atmod, implied to be a result of alcoholism

-the younger doesn’t talk BUT the older has a strong irish accent, if they are carl and stud it would explain why stud’s “1920s new york” accent is so heavy in atmod, because that accent came from the influx of irish immigrants in new york at the time

-there were around 160 irish passengers on the titanic (54 survivors), most of which were 3rd class passengers, likely immigrating to america to get away from the intense political tension taking place in ireland at time

-it would add to the inter-generational stampler family soccer talent! carl being able to kick around an iceberg chunk as a soccer ball, terry jr being the “star striker” of the doodlers, and scary being “one of the best” players on the teen high team

-it would add to the inter-generational stampler family boat trauma/death

-the timeline aligns really well! assuming carl is in his late teens/early 20s during the voyage (1912), then has willy a few years into his life in america (let’s say 1915-1920ish). willy is 8 (if i’m remembering right) during atmod, which takes place in the 1930s.

☂️ In this AU, everything is pretty much moved up one generation! Ronald, as a young boy, carpooled with his father, Willy (@emotionally-detached-warlock​) his friends Glenn, Henry, and Darryl, and their fathers Bill, Barry, and Frank. (They’re all alive and well here! I mean, they have their problems, like Barry having his own deal going back to the place he escaped so long ago...but still!) On the way to their soccer tournament, the kids are kidnapped by their grandparents. (Bill & Barry’s fathers don’t have names, but Ron’s granddad is named Carl!)

Everything goes the same, except it follows the dads (Willy, Bill, Barry, and Frank)’s journey to save their lost sons in the forgotten realm! Their arcs follow similarly to their sons; for example, Willy’s arc is the same as Canon!Ron’s and Barry’s is the same as Canon!Henry’s.

Ronald’s arc is similar to TJ’s because he ended up in Castle Ravenloft, but he is rescued last. When the dads reach the finale of their journey, Ronald ends up killing Carl and gaining a large amount of magic. He uses this magic to aid the fathers in the final fight, and becomes Willy’s warlock.

Currently, he is a perfectly normal guy! He works in the San Dimas Library as a children’s librarian to gain [REDACTED] magic from his relationship to the community. :)

I mean, they have their problems, like Barry having his own deal going back to the place he escaped so long ago...but still!) anyways, i don’t really post my dungeons and daddies art here (or any art really anymore), but i had a lot of fun making these family trees for the dads, so i thought yall might enjoy, it also includes all my designs so fun!

[id: four digital pieces of family trees of the four main dads from dungeons and daddies. There is a legend on each tree that shows the color coding as follows: blue means siblings, green means child, pink means married, purple means was married, gold means alive, red means deceased.

Stampler family tree: the stampler family tree starts with two brothers, Carl Stampler and Stewart “stud” Stampler, Willy Stampler is the son of Carl Stampler. Ron Stampler is the son of Willy Stampler. Ron is married to Samantha who was previously married to Terry Sr., they had a child, Terry Jr. Now for the descriptions. Carl Stampler is a white man with auburn hair with grey streaks and brown eyes. He has a stern face with strong cheekbones. and a beauty mark below his lip. Stewart looks a bit younger than Carl with dark brown hair, two beauty marks, and a rounder face. He has blue eyes. Willy is depicted older with full grey hair and a long looking face with brown eyes. He is very similar looking to Carl. Ron has a much rounder face and paler skin than his dad and wider blue eyes. He has dark brown hair with streaks of grey and a mustache. Samantha is a white women with a blonde bob. She is smiling and has an angular face with blue eyes. Terry Sr. is also white and blonde with a chiselled jaw with a chin dimple, glasses and green eyes. Lastly, Terry Jr. looks to be much younger version of Terry Sr, about 13, with sandy blonde hair, green eyes, and a chin dimple. His eyes are sunken.

Wilson family tree: the wilson family tree starts with Robert Wilson. Then Frank WIlson, son of Robert. Frank has two kids, Darryl Wilson and Casey wilson. Darryl Wilson is married to Carol Wilson and they have a child, Grant Wilson. Carol also has a sister named Stacy. Now for description. Robert is a round light skin man with light brown hair and glasses. He has hazel eyes and a moustache. Frank is similar looking, but a little fatter with brown eyes and ash blonde hair including grey streaks. He is smiling and has a scruffy beard. Darryl Wilson is pale with dark brown hair with grey streaks. He has a full bushy beard and brown eyes. He is wearing a blue baseballcap. Casey Wilson is a fat women with light skin and dark brown hair, braided back. She has wide brown eyes and is smiling. Carol Wilson is a thinner woman with a gaunt face and a short ash blonde bob that cups her face. She has blue eyes. Her sister, Stacy, is similar with face shape and eyes, though her eyes are brown. She has short brown hair and dangly light blue earings. Grant Wilson is a light skin boy looking to be around 12-13 with shaggy medium brown hair and freckles. He has his father’s sunken eyes and is wearing a jean jacket.

Oak family tree: the oak family tree starts with Hildy Russet. Barry Oak is her son and has one son himself, Henry Oak. Henry Oak is married to Mercedes Garcia-Oak and have two twin boys, Lark and Sparrow Oak. Now for descriptions. Hildy Russet is a dark skinned woman with dark brown hair curled in a 1940s hair doo. She is wearing a red brown hair and a light brown trench coat and red earring. Barry Oak is a dark skinned man with dark brown hair with grey streaks pulled into a ponytail. He has dark eyes and a well kept beard. Henry Oak has light brown skin with a grey streaked dark brown hair pulled into a man bun, with loose pieces in front. He is wearing glasses and has a scruffy beard. Mercedes is light brown skinned women with long wavy brown hair. She has dimples and a round face and brown eyes. She also has fuller lips and is wearing a blue shirt. Lark and Sparrow are almost identical with the same light brown skin, brown curly hair and angular face. Lark’s hair is parted to the side and has freckles on the bridge of his nose, while Sparrow’s hair is messier and hangs in his face and he has freckles on his cheeks. They’re about 12.

Close family tree: the close family tree starts with Meryl streep. Meryl’s daughter, currently unknown name, is married to Bill Close. They have a son, Glenn Close. Glenn Close is married to Morgan Freeman and they have one son, Nicholas Close, now for descriptions. Meryl Streep is an asian man with pale skin and black hair and a small moustache. He has dark eyes and is wearing a green suit. He also has high cheekbones. Bill Close is an asian man with tan skin and long black hair, tucked behind his ears, He has a scruffy beard and dark eyes. Glenn Close is an asian man with light tan skin, he has shaggy black hair that hangs over his forehead with a spotty scruffy beard. He is wearing small black sunglasses on the bridge of his nose. Morgan Freeman is a round black woman with black curly hair that goes to her chin, it includes a single red streak. She has wide, light brown eyes and pierced ears. she is wearing a gold necklace and tank top. Nicholas Close is a young, light brown skinned, boy about 12-13. He has a shaved side of his head and curly black hair that fades into red ontop. He has freckles on his cheek and a piercing in his nose and two in his ears. He is wearing a red hoodie and smiling.

So for reasons that we don't need to unpack over here (because that's what Faultless Finish is for), last year I pulled all my stuff from ao3 that wasn't co-authored. I found the PDF backups that I'd done before I deleted, and you know what? Some of this is still pretty good and I enjoyed rereading it. I have zero plans of ever finishing the unfinished ones, but on the off chance that somebody was like "I dig your Wrightiverse stories but I kinda miss that other one," here you go. UNFINISHED STORIES: If A Tree Falls (Rated Teen and Up, 5207 words. 3 chapters of what would have probably been at least 10. Originally published 8/4/2020.) Erin O'Neill decides to kidnap Nick, then rapidly realizes she did not think this through. I hadn't thought it through too much either, so I have no idea how this would have ended up. I still enjoy their dynamic quite a bit. Ghost Story (Rated Teen and Up, 10447 words. 6 of 7 chapters done. Originally published 7/13/2013.) Ron absolutely, one hundred percent believes that spirits walk the earth after they die. He just isn’t afraid of them. The last chapter of this one would have sort of skipped over the intervening years, then picked up with Samantha and TJ moving into the house with Ron. They would have brought along their own metaphorical ghosts (Terry Senior), but would have also been making new happy memories all together in this place that really needed some. Ron would have shown them the places/objects from the house that were special to him, like the attic and the treasures there. There would have been some subtle indication that the ghosts of the house were present and happy for Ron. (It was left pretty ambiguous given the point of view, but I considered Stud to be the stronger spiritual presence and Stud & Carl's unnamed mother to be the weaker one, which is why she mostly lingered around the wedding dress in the steamer trunk.)
