“you ready for the big day tomorrow carson?” pat brisson says across the dinner table. carson is starting school. in person. with other kids. for the first time since moving.

she shakes her head no and the adults chuckle. “but we will be okay, right?” jim smiles at her. carson nods.

it’s a small party for all the kids to get together, compare schedules, the hughes host every year the day before school starts. “ellen can i go upstairs for a little?” carson whispers.

ellen nods. once carson is upstairs, ellen and jim sigh. “the therapist said she was ready?” pat questions. “we toured the school with her, she got her schedule, the counselor met with her. she’s ready. i think she’s just a little nervous,” ellen frowned.

brendan had come inside. all the others were outside with the football and being teenagers. he overheard the adults talking and frowned.

carson was going over her schedule once more. “and then take a left. no no no. right. take a right.” a piece of paper slid under her door. a map of the school. hand drawn. and brendan’s classes scribbled on the paper as well.

“hope we share some classes! :)”

Does Briss ever have to call Quinn or anyone for help on how to help Carson?

in the first week of carson moving in with briss, he needs help. they were still in the process of getting settled and carson had started therapy but the new place was still a little much for her. brendan didn’t realize how often firetrucks passed the apartment.

it was two in the morning for brendan. and luckily, quinn picked up on the third ring. he didn’t want to have to call jack or luke. “briss?”

“carson is freaking out and i need help.” brendan was crying. he couldn’t figure out how to help carson. he felt like he had failed as a boyfriend. he picked an apartment too close to the fire station. he forgot to put away a candle. he was panicking. he was stressed with his season already.

“put her on the phone.”

“carson. are you there?” quinn asked. “yeah,” she sniffled wiping her cheeks. “what’s wrong?”

“i can’t calm myself down after my nightmare,” she stuttered. “okay, it’s okay. how can briss help?”

she shrugged. “i don’t know.” she was shaking like a leaf. “can you drink some water cars?” brendan offered softly. his tear stained cheeks made her feel bad and she took the water bottle from him, shaking.

“good,” brendan smiled weakly. “carson,” quinn soothed. “why don’t you and briss get back into bed? is the room cool enough?”

“freezing cold,” carson chattered. “good.” briss and carson got back into bed. “do you want to be held tonight?” quinn asked. “yeah,” her voice cracked. “you don’t have to ask,” briss whispered, opening his arms for her and letting her curl up.

“can you hear his heartbeat?” quinn asked, “like you can in the build a bear you had when living here?”

brendan’s eyebrows furrowed together. “you had a bear with my heartbeat?”

she nodded. “i can hear his heartbeat.” “good. now why don’t you both close your eyes and try to sleep a little,” quinn suggested. the two were still young, figuring life out. they needed guidance sometimes. “thank you quinn,” briss mumbled as they both became tired easily and carson’s eyes grew heavy.

carson having a nightmare and bren not being around or answering his phone to help her and her siblings can’t get her to calm down.

charlie actually is going to trevor’s games at worlds right now but maybe someone is mean to her because they know she’s with trevor

daisy is in michigan right now and jack takes care of her for mothers day while mom and ellen have a spa day and daisy and jack somewhere and he gets her a smoothie but asks the worker to make sure it’s not near the kiwi and then the worker doesn’t and allergic reaction

kasey being out at the beach with mackie and getting one of her really bad aura migraines. and she is so dizzy and he’s really worried for her because she said it’s the worst headache she’s ever experienced

matt snapped at eden on the phone because he was upset that he was scratched for game 3 and doesn’t know if he’s playing for game 4 and he hasn’t spoken to eden in two days now

she kinda locked him out of the room while she was getting ready and made him get dressed in the living room

so he’s dressed in nice dress pants and a white button up with a blazer and she comes out with her hair all pretty and in the dress with soft simple makeup and brendan melts.

“i am only lucky man. i get carson hughes all to myself,” he says as his hands fall on her waist. “do you like it? it’s not too much right?”

“baby if our reservation wasn’t in 20 minutes i would take you into the bedroom right now and show you how much i like it.”

fluff thoughts im giving myself because tumblr is dead today

quinn and mom waking up in a quiet home. daisy sleeps in as they go into the kitchen and make breakfast while sparing kisses. soon the sound of their one year old is interrupting them and quinn returns to the kitchen with a girl with the most unruly curls ever.

carson getting out of graduation and wanting to just get out of her clothes but all her boys are there. her brothers, ellen and jim, brendan. her hat get knocked off in the middle of pictures and briss finds that she had a picture of her parents in there and it makes him so sad for a second

charlie and trevor curled up with noodle on the bed resting and protecting charlie when she’s pregnant with chase. noodle is always there to protect charlie. once she takes noodle to the park and she’s pregnant and some guy tries approaching and noodle stands in front of her growling and he’s never done that before and she’s so shocked

kendall has a pretty swollen face right now and got fitted for her bubble today so she can wear it in the game. she pouted the whole way home but elias made sure she knew how cute he thinks she is.

kasey and mackie - oof. mackie’s team is done for the season. kasey tries to comfort. mackie shouts at her. and is very mean

daisy had fun in nashville but she fell outside bridgestone and she’s still in pain and sensitive to anything touching her knee and mom is terrified something is cracked

kendall hurt her jaw tonight and so she’s a little baby when she’s hurt. she’s got darcy and elias with her but she is mad at herself for getting hurt

charlie and trevor are at stagecoach and charlie hates it. the crowds, the pictures, the outfits, she wishes she was at home with noodle but she doesn’t tell anyone and just suffers silently

eden and matt have a minor fight because he made a comment about round two of the playoffs and kinda shit talked the islanders

sawyer showed up to quinn’s apartment pregnant and crying and it’s obviously his baby but there’s a little hesitation from quinn because they got into this fight and as soon as she could she was running

carson is graduating college and she brought up the idea of moving out to vegas with brendan and he totally shot her down. and it’s breaking her heart and making her rethink everything

“the boys and i are watching a movie tonight,” brendan tells her. the living room is crowded with his teammates. kent, owen, thomas and others are there.

carson and brendan have over been together for a brief period but that didn’t mean they didn’t spend the last few months together experimenting.

a blanket was draped over them, alone on the love seat and curled up. the movie was loud and the boys were talking. it all masked the sound of brendan’s gasp as carson slipped her hand into his sweats.

his hand fell over his mouth as he tried to keep his composure. “carson,” he mumbled in her ear, a warning but also him begging her. “i’m watching the movie.”

his friends were none the wiser to what was happening. her hand moving so slowly he thought he was going to die if she didn’t speed up. he kept having to bite his hand to keep himself quiet.

“carson!” he shouted as he sped up and he got close and brought attention to the two of them. “sorry, her hands are just really cold and she just put them on my arm under the blanket,” he coughed hard.

carson waited for everyone to turn back to the movie. she looked over at him and watched as he squeezed his eyes shut and he was trying to stay quiet as his body tensed and he released all over her hand and in his pants. he was breathing heavily and shuttered as she pulled her hand out of his sweats.

“i hate you so much,” he choked out quietly.

looking into the future i feel like brendan would go visit them to tell them he’s gonna ask carson to marry him

“i need you guys to keep your sister distracted while i’m on my trip,” he asks the boys. “okay?”

brendan looks around, making sure carson is still out with ellen shopping. “i already asked your dad and mom but i’m asking you guys too.”

“i’m going to ask carson to marry me and i want your permission. and i need you guys to distract her because i’m going to visit her parents and let them know.”

“you… wait… marry her? like our sister?” jack asks. “i give you permission,” luke says. “same,” quinn says. he looks at jack. “jack?”

“you’re really going to fly out to tell her parents graves you’re asking her?”

brendan nods. “i don’t think anyone else loves my sister as much as you do, you have my permission.”

“who are you dating?” jack texted brendan. his heart dropped. how did jack know already? brendan and carson had agreed to not tell her brothers until they were ready. but brendan had been talking about always hanging out with a girl.

it was in a groupchat with a bunch of their friends. “briss got a girlfriend?” someone piped up. “you don’t need to know,” brendan responded.

“dude rlly??? its just a girl.”

“i bet she’s smoking” trevor said.

brendan didn’t respond, he asked his teammates to not share the fact that they pretty much knew he was seeing carson. the teasing stopped and brendan hoped it was a done conversation.

but the topic of his mystery girlfriend kept coming up. sometimes he’d play into it. “yeah she’s really hot” or “always over at my dorm” and he would simply laugh at the jokes about him sleeping with her.

he had carson in his bed, kissing her, being a typical horny college boy when he phone rang with a facetime. “it’s jack, hold on.”

“hi rowdy, what’s up?”

she was breathing heavily and catching her breath. “just wondering if you were home, i misplaced my favorite pair of shoes.”

“no i’m hanging out with briss.”

“ooo and his girlfriend he has?”

“what girlfriend?” carson asked, “it’s always just us hanging out.”

“carson shut up,” brendan warned. jack was hit with the realization. “oh my god.” carson realized what she had accidentally revealed. “oh god, wait jack,” she started.

can we hear abt how he asks her out

after they sleep together, brendan doesn’t see her much. he blames it on school. he says that he doesn’t want to distract her. but she’s missing him.

new years eve and all of luke’s friends are over. brendan comes over and carson is hiding in her room, noise cancelling headphones on, blinds shut, she has a plate of food in her room.

“hey,” he waves a hand in front of her face. she yanks the headphones off. “hi.”

“you coming outside for the fireworks?”

“no. not a big fan of stuff that gets lit on fire and explodes in the sky.” he frowns. “carson i didn’t mean to ghost you after that night in the dorms, i just didn’t know what to do.”

“i like you brendan and it scares me.” she jumps when the fireworks start. its midnight. he pulls her headphones on, the noise drowning out and he pulls her in for a kiss.

“happy new years cars,” he pulls the headphones off of her briefly. “be my girlfriend.”

“okay,” she said dreamily. he pulled the headphones back on so she could remain calm and kisses her again.

What was the idea you woke up with

so carson and briss probably have one baby of their own but then they would be foster parents with the intent to adopt. and this was the scenario in my head:

carson was finally asleep, brendan’s arm draped over her as he laid on his stomach. both of them exhausted from taking care of their newborn baby. carson’s phone started ringing throughout the room and it woke the baby in the bassinet.

brendan was focusing on getting the baby and calming the cries. “hello?” carson said. “carson? i know it’s late but we need someone for a placement,” the friend at the foster agency said.

carson was wide awake now. brendan watched her closely. “how old?”

“eleven, just got surrendered from a bad home, might have to battle it out with the state if you want to fully adopt but they need to have a home tonight or the group home will take them, thought i would give you a call first but i know with the baby you haven’t been really working or taking anyone in.”

“i’ll set the bedroom up now, the house is all good for a check too.”

the call ended and brendan just smiled at carson. “are we about to get another kid?” he asked. “yeah,” she laughed nervously. “get the baby back to sleep and then come help me!”

“carson this will be your room,” ellen shows her to the empty room that was cleaned out. “o-okay,” she stuttered. “we are just at the end of the hall, quinn is in the room next to you, luke and jack still share the bedroom across the hall. i got you this basket of some bathroom essentials- oh honey,” carson is breaking down into tears. how had her life changed so much in the last couple of weeks.

“it’s okay, we’re here to give you a home and love. i miss your parents too.”

carson gets settled in, carefully unpacking her clothes that she took with her. the boys hadn’t seen her since their parents introduced carson almost an hour ago. “jack can you go get carson for dinner?” jim asked. he groaned, walking up the stairs.

carson jumped when jack barged into the room. “dinner is ready.” she’s shaking after the loud noise but follows jack downstairs. she feels lost as the boys all take their seats at the table with their parents.

daisy is playing outside while mom is cleaning up the garden since the seasons are changing and it’s getting colder and daisy gets stung by a bee or wasp or something and goes screaming to mom who is so confused why daisy is screaming and she just scoops up daisy and runs her inside terrified still trying to decipher what happened

charlie was not in bed when trevor woke up and he couldn’t find noodle either. it isn’t unlike the two to go outside in the early morning or walk around the neighborhood so he waits for them and when they get back from their walk charlie (and noodle) are both excited to see him awake

sawyer called quinn last night because the baby was doing flips and moving and she was hoping that hearing his voice would calm the baby down and it did

kasey is cuddling with mackie on the couch for days until someone is like “kasey you gotta move to your bedroom to rest and probably like change clothes and shower” and she’s just so upset about it and makes mackie carry her

carson is struggling sleeping and in the summer it’s easy for her because she can just go swimming to calm her mind but that’s not really an option for her currently and it is hard on her and briss is trying his best to help her

ooo angst maybe someone tries to steal from mac’s store or something and brock calls to check on her and she’s like “let me call you back i’m in the middle of giving a report to the police.” or fixing up something that was broken in the scuffle
