1st post🇩🇰 Land of Legends (Sagnlandet Lejre) #vikingstyle #norsk #ancienthistory #danmarkhistory #vikingsvalhalla Land of Legends, Centre for Historical-Archaeological Research and Communication (Danish: Sagnlandet Lejre) is a 106-acre (43 hectare) archaeological open-air museum situated in the Lejre Municipality, few kilometres west of Roskilde, Denmark. Lejre Land of Legends was formerly known as Centre for Historical-Archaeological Research and Communication (Historisk-arkæologisk Forsøgscenter). It was founded in 1964 by ethnologist Hans-Ole Hansen to create new knowledge of the past through experiments. On March 1, 2009, Lejre Experiment Centre changed its name to Sagnlandet Lejre. #vikingstyle #norsk #danmark🇩🇰 #carticafeacalatorii The site comprises reconstructions of an Iron Age village and sacrificial bog (200 BC to 200 AD), a Viking market place (900 AD), a Stone Age campsite (5000 BC), an 18th-century farmstead and various grave monuments. The historical artisan workshops (pottery, weaver's workshop, smithy) work to reproduce pre-historical handicraft. Gardens, pastures and fields are the natural scenario of activities and reconstructions. Lejre researchers have re-created ancient crafts. Researchers have also explored in detail the ancient methods of food production. Activities for the public utilizes previous techniques, known from historical documents, archaeological evidence or experimental archaeology. Many archaeologists from all over the world come to Lejre to perform their experiments, dealing with a broad variety of subjects and artifacts. Lejre has also supported the experimental work of Errett Callahan (1937–2019) who was one of the world's most recognised flintknappers. Around 55,000 tourists and school children visit Lejre each year. Each summer many families spend a week of their holidays in the Iron Age village, the farm cottages and the Stone Age campsite. They dress in period costume and take on the role of peopling the reconstructed areas, while trying to live using the techniques of the past. Kyrgyz national dresses - photo. Chris Rainier Chris Rainier took photo of Kyrgyz traditional dresses on Sept. 10-13 2018 in the Chon-Kemin Valley and Ton region of Kyrgyzstan, Kiyiz Duino foundation reported adding that this is the first visit of the photographer to Kyrgyzstan. "For more than twenty years I have been photographing traditional costumes and culture of peoples. The idea to come to Kyrgyzstan was a long time ago, and I knew that Kyrgyz are one of the few peoples who know and preserve their history, culture and traditions. I was very nervous and worried about how everything will go, I expected a lot and on the first day of photography my expectations exceeded me, I'm surprised how traditional clothes were preserved," Chris Rainer said. "I will show these photos to the entire world, so that people know that there is such a people who preserve their culture. You have really amazing outfits, and I want to thank Kiyiz Duino for working in the revival of traditions and customs through clothes," he added. https://sputnik.kg/photo/20180928/1041263531/kyrgyz-uluttuk-kijim-fotograf-surot.html http://en.kabar.kg/news/photographer-of-national-geographic-interested-in-kyrgyz-national-dresses/ https://www.chrisrainier.org/silk-road #carticafeacalatorii #kyrgyzstan #beautycollector #travelphotography https://www.instagram.com/p/B8dBji4p0Q5/?igshid=2aq110odnwhs

The fruit (Palmyra fruit) measures 10 cm (3.9 in) to 18 cm (7.1 in) in diameter, has a black husk, and is borne in clusters. The top portion of the fruit must be cut off to reveal the sweet jelly seed sockets, translucent pale-white, similar to that of the lychee but with a milder flavor and no pit. The sweet jelly seed sockets occur in combinations of two, three or four seeds inside the fruit. The jelly part of the fruit is covered with a thin, yellowish-brown skin. These are known to contain watery fluid inside the fleshy white body. These seed sockets have been the inspiration behind certain Sandeshes called Jalbhora (জলভরা) found in Bengal. The soft orange-yellow mesocarp pulp of the ripe fruit is sugary, dense and edible, rich in vitamin A and C. BORASSUS also contains bitter compound called flabelliferrins, which are steroidal saponins. The conventional way this fruit is eaten is when the outer casing is still unripe while the seeds are eaten as the fruit. But if the entire fruit is left to ripen, the fibrous outer layer of the palm fruits can also be eaten raw, boiled, or roasted. When this happens, the fruit takes a purple-blackish hue and tastes similar to coconut flesh. The skin is also eaten as part of the fruit similar to how mango skins are often consumed along with the fruit. Bengali People have perfected the art of making various sweet dishes with the yellowish viscous fluid substance obtained from a ripe palm fruit. These include mustard oil-fried (alternately sunflower oil-fried) Taal-er bora (তালের বড়া) "palmyra vadas" or mixed with thickened milk to prepare Taal-kheer (তাল ক্ষীর). In Kerala it is called Pananungu whereas in Tamil Nadu, it is called as Nungu (நுங்கு). Ice apple in Indonesia is called Buah Lontar or Siwalan. One of my favourite apart coconut juice!🌴#carticafeacalatorii #romanianwomantraveller #kerala #tamilnadu #southindia #travelphotography #travel #travelblogger #travelgram #juicewrld #lychee #foodphotography #drinkphotography @incredibleindia @kerala_welcomes_you @keralasoulmedia @nature_of_tamilnadu_ (at Kanyakumari, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6FVUVDJfgQ/?igshid=8glsz54jccrr

Nungu (sweet drink sherbet) in Tamil Nandu 🥤 In the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar, and in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, the seeds are planted and made to germinate and the fleshy stems (below the surface) are boiled or roasted and eaten. It is very fibrous and nutritious. It is known as Thegalu (తేగలు) or Gaygulu (గేగులు) or Gengulu (గెంగులు) (especially in Telangana) in Telugu, as Panai Kizhangu or Panangkizhangu (பனங்கிழங்கு) in Tamil, and as htabin myiq (ထန်းပင်မြစ်) in Myanmar. The germinated seed's hard shell is also cut open to take out the crunchy kernel, which tastes like a sweeter water chestnut. It is called Buragunju (బురగుంజు) in Telugu and "thavanai" in Tamil. The white kernel of the ripe palm fruit after being left for a few months is used as an offering in Lakshmi Puja in various parts of Bengal and is also eaten raw. #carticafeacalatorii #romanianwomantraveller #nungu #iceapplejuice #travelphotography #travelblogger #juice #sherbet #deliciousdrink #deliciousfood #foodphotography (at Tamil Nadu) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6FUplwpXqQ/?igshid=bc151agkwb04

Ice Apple Juice! Coconut, coconut but this one also you must try it while you are on your way to Kanyakumari(Tamil Nandu)/South India! * * * Borassus flabellifer is a robust tree and can reach a height of 30 metres (98 ft). The trunk is grey, robust and ringed with leaf scars; old leaves remain attached to the trunk for several years before falling cleanly. The leaves are fan-shaped and 3 m (9.8 ft) long, with robust black teeth on the petiole margins. Like all Borassus species, B. flabellifer is dioecious with male and female flowers on separate plants. The male flowers are less than 1 cm long and form semi-circular clusters, which are hidden beneath scale-like bracts within the catkin-like inflorescences. In contrast, the female flowers are golfball-sized and solitary, sitting upon the surface of the inflorescence axis. After pollination, these blooms develop into fleshy fruits 15–25 cm wide, each containing 1-3 seeds. The fruits are black to brown with sweet, fibrous pulp and each seed is enclosed within a woody endocarp. Young palmyra seedlings grow slowly, producing only a few leaves each year (establishment phase), but at an as yet undetermined time, they grow rapidly, producing a substantial stem. #carticafeacalatorii #followmeoninstagram #romanianwomantraveller #iceapple #iceapplejuice #tamilnadu #southindia #cooldrink #cooldrinks🍹 #sweetdrink #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #beautycollector (at Kottaram, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6FUQBRpZpR/?igshid=2gmpo36l1l4l
