Buenos días! 🙋 😴 El castillo son solo piedras. Aquí escuché esta frase... Pues sí, un castillo es sobre todo piedra y algo de madera y un diamante son átomos de carbono pero no es un tizón y una estrella son átomos de hidrógeno y helio y no es un globo de feria... Finally, I'm coming to an end with Portugal🇵🇹 for now. This castle🏰 in the North of the country has a spectacular view🔭 with what looks like a mountain lake🗻 as a backdrop. The lake is actually the Lima river, which has been pent up by the Alto Lindoso dam (pics 8 & 9). You can also see the stone graneries again, from which there are a couple dozen in front of Castello Lindoso. The medieval castle🏛️ was built in the 13th century as well, although little is known of the early era. It is believed the fortress was started under the reign of Afonso III of Portugal👑, entered in strengthening efforts of the defensive system of borders🛡️, undertaken by that ruler. The castle saw a defensive state in the Napoleonic Wars⚔️ but never saw action. It has never been used since. Peacetime took its toll. Neglect and lack of maintenance saw the castle slowly wear away from the weather and elements. Spotting the cat of the castle. The Regaleira Palace in Sintra also called The Palace of Monteiro the Millionaire. 🏰 You could zoom it in and i zoom some details in my story, the cat is so sweet. 😼 The palace has mysterious hidden places, garden, forests and intriguing ornaments (beautiful manueline style). It even has a grotto. If you're like me you'd drawn to the less viewed spot, like the corner here, only to encounter its pawsome resident (?) having its meal. . . That's what makes me kind of slow, how often it happened, that the closing time was announced while i was still having at least 1 whole floors to look around in a museum. 😌 Anyway we managed to visit two castles that day (this and The Pena palace, from many!) and almost missed the last bus to go back to train station. Férias. Na viagem para o Algarve 🏖️ estava decidido que iriamos fazer Porto-Monte Gordo repartido por dois dias. Não gostamos que a nossa filhota fique muito tempo na cadeira no carro e por isso resolvemos fazer uma paragem em Leiria e visitar o seu belo castelo 🏰. Apesar de estar em obras ⚠️ e não ser possível visitar ⛔ por dentro passeamos pela zona histórica e adoramos.
