she's really smart and has learned the surefire way to get my attention no matter what is when she's chewing on the houseplants (non toxic but still destructive crimes) which led to me planting* decoy catgrass (*pun ambiguously intended) so that i can ignore her when she chews on it and train her out of the attention grabbing habit. she thinks she's a sly criminal but she is my puppet and im the puppet master

That's a good question! As funny as it would be, i think he'd most likely be immune on account of him being a plant himself - maybe at most it would make him a bit more mellowed out, but he wouldn't be completely zonked out of his mind lmao

I started planting peppermint so I can have fresh mint tea and catgrass (oat grass) for my guinea pig and I started imagining a bug colony/kingdom living right inside or have easy access to a greenhouse.

I then started imagining a drought occuring and lack of access for food and the bugs outside of there pleading for the colony for rations. They denied at first but religion and active pleading made them reluctantly change their minds.

Soon, the colony/kingdom started sharing with everyone and finding new species intergrating. A hodge-podge of different species.

A paradise.

Now my cruel-ass imagined a scenario that soon after the greenhouse is just taken away. Gone. The previous owners moved or died.

It started to wither. It becomes inhospitable and forcing those new species to leave and find new land and new homes.

How cruel of a story would that be?

It'd be super cruel of that to happen: Which is perfect for the universe of Bug World. There's a reason that "No Mercy" is there in the title (Not just because of the bart world no mercy image) and what you're describing in the idea is a great example of the lack of mercy and pity that everything in the world has for all of the bugs.

Maybe the Kingdom eventually is overthrown and their leaders are publicly executed, maybe the kingdom left with the rest of the bugs, maybe the kingdom never even left because of their historical and cultural attachment to the greenhouse. Whatever the case may be, a moment where survival was guaranteed for many bugs was just taken in front of them before their very eyes. A cruel story, yes, but one that delves into the lives of the bugs, lives ruled by cruelty.
