Yoooo. So i know you've mentioned it a bit here and there, but what are your official thoughts on the NATM reboot? I feel like it has the potential to be really good, and i'm excited about it, but i've also heard that it's not gonna have a lot of the old actors in it. So i wonder how they're gonna go about it

I don't know either. At first it seemed all they said about the reboot was that it was going to have an entirely new cast, then I remember a couple of media outlets saying they were gonna reprise some roles with some of the old actors. Tbh I have no idea, but I really do want some of the old actors. The exhibits' actors have aged and though I really do believe they aged well, the exhibits aren't supposed to age or show signs of it, and though I'd love to see new talent explored, I really feel like an animated film is the most reasonable opportunity for the original actors to have one last hurrah in the film. Especially knowing Steve and Owen both have a decent history voicing animated characters, and they are known to try and push the homoerotic approach to the characters' dynamic.

I mean, don't get me wrong, part of me loves the idea of new talent. I want to see new, fresh young actors portray these characters! I just feel like that would be much better suited in an actual reboot more than a sequel of the franchise. To be honest, deep down it kind of made me mad when it was stated they weren't bringing back the old actors. I guess cause they have so many different ideas and plans for the far future, that would be much more suited for new talent imo, and I feel so much magic with the old actors. What else can I say except I have problems adjusting to change.

If anyone disagrees with me, that's valid. Idk, I think part of me has always been craving to see a jedtavius canonization with the original actors. Owen and Steve's characterization and natural chemistry work so fucking well with their characters, I find it really hard to think of a better duo of talent to represent Jed and Oct. I should probably stop talking about this, I just feel really strongly about it.

Anyway, none of this is really set in stone, and it's too early to tell what will happen. They said it was gonna debut at the end of this year, but somehow they haven't even announced the cast? Hopefully we'll see soon.

My personal approach to this is cautious optimism. I'm not setting my expectations too high because I know there's a 50% chance I'll be disappointed. And I've seen it happen, and I've had it happen to me. Still, I try to remember that no matter what happens the original will stay the same and be there to enjoy. I try to just have fun with what we've got for now, and keep fingers crossed for the future? At least we're likely to get some more fandom activity either way.
