They made Mutus Liber from Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor into a real thing??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe this is common knowledge, but I just found out today that Mutus Liber is a real book from 1677 consisting mostly of pictures. I'm guessing this is what inspired the book Jane's grandfather gave to her in Curse of Blackmoor Manor.
Since it's mostly pictures, the meaning of Mutus Liber isn't known, but it is widely believed to be about alchemy, which also plays a role in the game. Specifically, one popular interpretation of the book is that it "shows how to proceed to achieve the magnum opus, whose ultimate purpose is to obtain the philosopher's stone."
So that makes me wonder... is the Penvellyn Treasure, which Nancy believes to be a piece of meteorite, actually the philosopher's stone?

i wish there was even like an iota of actual irish history in this game. the only actually irish character is made fun of the whole time for disliking the british but this is a man who would have survived the troubles. like. he has a good fucking reason and HerInteractive could have expanded on that and how it shaped many irish people's feelings towards the british throughout history but NOOOO he's just a crazy old dude who hates the british. because he's crazy. right

If I had a nickel for every three-of-a-kind Go Fish minigame in Nancy Drew: The Curse of Blackmoor Manor, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s kind of weird that they make you do that twice.
