Prompts are suggestions only. We hope they inspire you, but all Valentine’s Day themed fics or artwork can be submitted

Newly created fanfics and fanart for Pixelberry Choices stories containing at least one character from canon (can be an MC) will be accepted

We will accept Valentine's Day "throwbacks." Please tag previously-created Valentine's Day fics/art with the tag #cfwc valentine throwbacks. They will be included on the Valentine's Day masterlist but will not be eligible for the event prize.

Submissions will be accepted between 12:00 AM on Saturday, February 1st, and 11:59 PM on Saturday, February 15th.

OHFFs Writing Event!

While we're still recovering from the news of Open Heart ending next Friday, here at OHFFs, we'd like to invite you all to celebrate/mourn the end of an era with a series of events, starting on Friday June 11th!

The first event hosted will be Open Heart: Surgery. Let's fix what's broken! where we want to hear all about your Alternate Endings and how you’d handle the plotlines PB forgot about.

With this event we want to encourage you to share your own endings, what you would've loved to happen, what you hated about it, and, in general, your appreciations related to the ending of this trilogy.

Some simple rules for the submissions:

We will allow any form of writing works: one-shots, series, mini-series, drabbles.

We'll also be accepting headcanons too! Because we know not everyone has a way with words, or simply the inspiration to write fics, so this will not be an excuse to not share your ideas with us!

And if you still don't feel confident enough to share it publicly, you can always use our ask box to share your feelings and craziest ideas with the fandom.

Please remember that we follow the same guidelines as CFWC in regards to banned content. 

We will be receiving your submissions and confessions from Friday June 11th to Friday June 18th!

So, scrub yourselves in, prepare your scalpels, and get to the OR because we're going to fix what PB broke!

In celebration of Pride Month, CFWC is delighted to host Pride Bingo again.

The event will run from June 1st through June 30th.

One lucky winner will receive a fanart commission for a 2-person, full-body chibi with a full background from the lovely and talented @bayleedraws-sometimesx.

The winner will be randomly selected using the Wheel of Names and announced by Tuesday, July 2nd.

Hey Fandom! Just wanted to keep you up to date on some things going on at CFWC.

Sunday Six (& Beyond)

You spoke, we listened! You miss this feature, so we're bringing it back effective immediately, but with a little twist.

We will reblog all WIP fic previews... Sunday Six? Tickler Tuesday? WIP Wednesday? You name it, and we'll reblog it.

We will not have a weekly list like in the past, but we will tag all previews with #CFWC WIP so you can search for them from the main page or our blog.

The "Writer of the Month" feature has been replaced with "Creator of the Month" to allow our fandom artists to be included in the selection process. For selection criteria, please see here.

Please be sure the story, character(s), and pairing(s) are clearly stated in your header. We won't have time to track creators down for details and will work off the information you provide. We can't read every work, and we're not familiar with every character (in artwork). So please provide precise details.

Use a page break. If your post is longer than 2 mobile screen lengths, we will not reblog. We cannot continue to create new posts for creations that are too long. For instructions on how to add a page break, please see here.

Choices Pride Month

In celebration of Pride Month, CFWC is delighted to host Pride Bingo.

The event will run from June 1st through June 30th. Two lucky winners will win a fanart commission from the lovely and talented @rosefuckinggenius.

The first winner will receive a 2-person, half-body flat color sketch, and thanks to Rose's generosity, there will be a second prize of a 1-person, full-body flat color sketch, as well! The winners will be selected at random and announced on Saturday, July 1st.

Write fics based on the bingo card categories.

If you write one fic, you get one chance at winning a prize.

If you write more than one fic and get "Bingo" - three in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally - you will get three chances to win a prize. (3 chances max per person).

Each fic can only be assigned to one category... so a fic about selecting an outfit to wear to the Pride parade could be in the Pride Parade or Fashion categories, but not both.

About the categories:

The story must focus on characters that are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

We have purposely left the categories broad to encourage participation. Here are some suggestions if you need them.

Pride Parade: planning or attending a pride parade; memories of a past parade; upset that they have to miss the parade because they're sick/have to work; planning their outfit for the parade - pride parade related.

Fashion/Trends: talk about your character's style; trends in the community they like - or dislike; planning a special outfit for pride; ways they express themselves through fashion/trends, etc.

First Date/Kiss: their first-ever; their first with a new person; planning on asking someone out for a first date; talking about a disastrous first date; returning home from their very last first date, because this is the one, etc.

History: We all know about Stonewall (and if you don't, we can send you links!), but this is not limited to any one event, person, or nation. Literally anything about LGBTQ+ history will be accepted.

Coming Out... or not: Why do we include "or not"? Because not everyone believes you have to come out (do straight people make an announcement?). If your character did come out, tell us their story; if they didn't, tell us why. A fic about multiple characters discussing their thoughts on this issue. If a character didn't come out - how did people react when they learned? Anything about coming out... or not.

Gender Identity: What was your character's earliest memory of struggling with their identity; how did people in their lives react; do people respect their choices/pronouns, etc.; tell us a story about how they are now happily living the life they were meant to live, etc.

Family: Was their family accepting or not? Tell us about their found family. How do they create their own family, traditional or otherwise? Proposals, weddings, babies, moving in together, raising kids/pets, divorcing/breaking up, adding someone to (or someone leaving) the polycule. Anything related to family life.

Music & Art: Can be incorporated in any way. An LGBTQ+ artist that inspired them; how the character expresses themselves through music/art; dancing at a club; drag performances; hosting an exhibit of LGBTQ+ artists, you name it.

CFWC Event Information

CFWC's Hispanic Heritage Month and Bisexual Awareness Week Celebration will be continuing through October 15th.

Event Guidelines:

Between September 15 and October 15, 2023, we encourage our writers and artists to submit creations that celebrate one or both events.

Fics and visual arts can be submitted.

There are no prompts, but your work should reflect one or both of the celebrations.

Please use the tag # Hispanic Heritage Month and/or #Bisexuality Awareness on your post, and remember to tag @choicesficwriterscreations.

All works will be notated with a special symbol on the weekly lists, and two separate masterlists will be posted upon event completion.

Prize eligibility:

Ongoing Events & How to Submit Your Work

Fics/ Art of the Week

The only way to ensure that your fic or artwork is reblogged and shared on the Weekly listing is to tag @choicesficwriterscreations.

Moderators may reblog untagged works they come across, but it's impossible for us to see all the works we're not tagged in. So if you want to make 100% sure it's included, don't forget to tag us!

We share untagged works to help give creators exposure. But, if a creator explicitly asks us not to post their work, we will remove them and add them to a "do-not-post" list. If a creator has moderators blocked, we cannot see their work, and therefore, it cannot be shared.

Event Timeline: Sunday through Saturday every week. Deadline: Creations received by (roughly) 11:59 PM Eastern time on Saturday will appear on Sunday's list.

Throwback Fics:

Each week, you can reblog one old fic or art (min. 3 months old) to share a memory with old readers and give new readers an opportunity to enjoy it, too.

Mention @choicesficwriterscreations in your post. Be sure to use the the tag #cfwc throwbacks.

Please Note:

We only accept one creation per creator each week.

Fic/art must be at least three months old.

CFWC Weekly Events

CFWC Fics and Art of the Week: 

We reblog Pixelberry Choices related fanfics and fanart every week and share the creations on our Fics/Art of the Week lists each Sunday.

The event runs from Sunday through Saturday each week, ending at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. The list is published the following day (Sunday).

The CFWC Creation of the Week: 

Every Sunday, one creation will be randomly selected from the previous week’s F/AotW listing as the CFWC Creation of the Week.

It will be reblogged three more times during the following week, giving it more chances to be seen and loved.

Rules:

Only fics/art submitted to CFWC are eligible - meaning you must have mentioned @choicesficwriterscreations​ in your post.  

The creator must be following the blog.

Creators can be selected more than once; however, no creator can be featured more than two times within a four week period.  

Throwback Creations: 

Each Thursday, you can share an old fic or artwork (min. 3 months old) and we will reblog it within 48-hours.

The event takes place every week and the deadline to participate is 11:59 PM Eastern Time on Thursday.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

Why do some Choices stories (i.e., OH, TRR) have individual F/AotW lists while others are combined?

Any Choices story that receives ten or more submissions in a week will have it’s own list.  A link on the main CFWC F/AotW list will direct to the individual list.  

Why don’t you post fics written by (creator name)?

CFWC mods search for creations on the main tags when time allows. No creator will be denied as long as their creations do not violate blog standards.  

While we do our best to share as many creations as we can, it is impossible for us to guarantee they will be shared unless we are tagged. We recommend creators tag @choicesficwriterscreations and use the # cfwc fics of the week or #cfwc art of the week to guarantee they will be included. 

If a creator has the mods blocked, we will not be able to see their creations and will not be able to share their creations.

While it is our desire to have as many writers represented as possible, we understand some creators may not want to be included.  If an explicit request is made, we will refrain from including the creator in the future. 

Can I send you my masterlist?

You can send your series masterlist if your submission is part of a series. It will make it easier for readers to catch up on your series. But we don't reblog masterlists at this time. Most creators have their masterlists in their headers, please check out their individual blog. 

Why don’t you post text fics and edits?

We have changed our policy on this and some are accepted.  Please see here for more details. 

Can we review fics posted here?

No. We want this blog to be neutral and support all fandom writers equally.  We do not want to add to the popularity contests that plague the fandom with problems.

I sent my submission, but my fic didn’t make it to the list. Will you tell me why?

Normally this means we did not receive your tag.  If we don’t reblog your work within 48-hours after you sent your submission, contact @jerzwriter​ via DM or send us an ask.

Are there any fics you won’t post?

Yes. Stories that support racism, xenophobia, sexism, LGBTQ-phobia, body shaming, pedophilia, incest, or encouraging violence or other harm aren’t allowed. 

We cannot read every fic published, but if we learn we have posted a work involving these subjects, the reblog will be removed from our directory and the user will be reported to Tumblr support. 

Plagiarized fanfiction are a tricky thing for us figure out since we don’t read every single submission we receive. We know Tumblr isn’t helpful in this case, so what we advise you to do is gather plenty of evidence (drafts, post dates, conversations with friends and or the person plagiarizing your work) if you feel a work of yours was plagiarized.

We also need to remind writers that proving intellectual property theft in fanfiction isn’t easy. Though none of us make money off writing fanfiction, only Pixelberry has legal rights over Choices books. It is not uncommon for people have the same/similar headcanons for characters, pairings, etc. so we might need much more evidence if the person accused of plagiarism didn’t copy and paste your work the exact way you posted it before removing a fanfic writer’s work from our directory.

Fiction and Art Submission Guidelines

CFWC is here to support creators and connect fandom members. We want to make sharing your creations here as simple as possible, but we need your assistance. We recommend that creators include the following items in their posts. It is the creator's responsibility to provide these details.

If information is missing, we will work with what is provided. But if the required information is not present, we cannot reblog.

FIC/ART MUST INCLUDE:

1..Pixelberry Choices Story (Required) 2..Characters and/or pairing (Required)

Main Characters or Pairing: the main person or pairing fic is about. > Use "x" for romantic pairings (John x Mary) > Use "&" for platonic pairings (John & Mary) > F!MC or F!OC for Female / M!MC or M!OC for Male / NB!MC or NB!OC for Non-Binary. If not indicated, we will list as MC or OC only. NOTE: Some prefer gender coding, but CFWC does not require it. Tag your characters as you wish; we respect your choices.

3.. A "Read More" page break (Required) Posts that exceed 2 mobile screen lengths will not be reblogged. Please use a "Read More" page break for longer posts. If you need instructions on how to add a page break, please see here. We will reach out to creators to request this be added one time only. After that, the creation will be shared via a link on our weekly lists but will not be reblogged.

FIC/ART SHOULD INCLUDE:

Ratings/Warnings: We strongly suggest you provide a rating for your fic. Rating guidelines can be found below the break. NOTE: If this information is not provided, we will still reblog the fic, and it will be up to the reader to determine whether to read the work or contact the creator for more information. In the case of 18+ Material, if we are notified that a fic with mature or adult content is posted without a rating, we reserve the right to take our reblog down.

RATINGS:

This is the preferred rating system

G: General – appropriate for all audiences. T:  Teen – appropriate for teens and older adults. M: Mature Content – content contains topics that are not explicit but have themes that are more appropriate for adult audiences.  These are considered appropriate for ages 18+ only.  These fics should also contain trigger warnings. E: Explicit – content contains explicit sexual, violent, or other content.  They are only appropriate for ages 18+.  These fics should also contain trigger warnings.

WARNINGS:

If your fic contains topics that could be troubling to others, please include warnings.  These may include but are not limited to death, major illness, mental health issues, suicide, sexual harassment/abuse, violence, drug/alcohol use, homophobia*, racism*, sexism*, etc.

*PLEASE NOTE: These triggers will apply if these topics are addressed in the fic.  We will not promote fics that endorse any of these things.  We cannot read every fic, but if we are made aware of any fics that do, we will remove them, contact the author and Tumblr if warranted.

If the first person selected is not eligible to be WotM because they have been selected within the prior 18-months, we will allow their MC / OC to be featured as March's MC-OCotM, and we will select another name from this event's participants to be March's WotM.

Winners will be selected on Sunday, February 19th.

After the wheel is spun, a mod will reach out to the winner(s) by DM.

The winner(s) has 3-days from the date the message is sent to reply to the mod and accept the prize. If they do not reply to the mod within that 3-day period, a new name will be selected.

The attached link will take you to the rules for posting. It's pretty simple, just what is required in the header and rules about the length of posts.

If posts are excessively long, we have to create a linked post for you. It takes more time for our admins, and it's probably not going to be as pretty/appealing as the post you took your time to create.

Welcome to CFWC Nerd Week! From May 19 to 25, we encourage you to post stories about fantasy, sci-fic, superheroes and supernatural themes.

Weekly Trope Challenge

I may be crazy for announcing another event, or just super excited? you tell me 😂

Someone suggested the fantastic idea that we do a weekly writing challenge for creators. We have a ton of tailored tropes for each LI based on popular themes in fics. So here it is! 🎉

Each week (starting on a Friday) will be devoted to creating new fics for the trope, or tagging us in a past one. 

My hope is that it inspires others to write for lesser-known pairings. There are no rules*! Write that Bryce x Aurora fic! Gimme some Sienna x Raf! Tobias x ME! Some Jackie x F!MC please!

CFWC Pride Week

Welcome to CFWC Pride Week! From June 14 to 20, we encourage you to write about your favorite Choices LGBT+ characters. All you have to do is pick a character or a ship and write a story for the following prompts:

Discovery: Create a story about the moment when your favorite figure out their sexuality/gender identity.

Coming Out: Is your character still in the closet? Are they ready to come out? Write about it!

Love Is Love: Time for your favorite OTP (OTP3,4,5...) to shine. Write the sweetest love story you can think of just for them.

Scene prompt #1: Person A and Person B decide to meet up at a Pride parade. When they get there, Person A is dressed very fabulous and flamboyant and is not happy to see that Person B is dressed very basic and “normal” so they furiously smother Person B in as much rainbows, make up, and color as possible.

Scene prompt #2: Person A has a massive crush on Person B but they assume that Person B is straight and therefore wouldn’t be attracted to them. Then one night Person A goes out to a gay bar/club where they happen to run into Person B.

Scene Prompt #3: Person A is LGBT+ and Person B is a straight ally. They go to a Pride event together and everyone there keeps hitting on Person B thinking that they aren’t straight so Person B uses it as an opportunity to be Person A’s wing-man and refers all of their suitors to Person A.

Scene prompt #4: Person A and Person B create a list of iconic straight couples from movies and then have a photo shoot of them recreating gay versions of all of the movie posters.
