How do you want to be known on Tumblr? Anitah
1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
I first started playing in June 2018. The Royal Romance was the first book I played, and I got hooked from the end of the first chapter. At the time, they were midway through releasing TRR book 3, so I binged books 1 & 2 and finally caught up on the day of the wedding, where the chapter ended with the attack at the boutique. Then I didn’t know what to do with myself because it was the first time I had to wait a week to find out what was going to happen.
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
Finding Tumblr was a complete accident. I was googling something really dumb about Liam and TRR and happened to stumble across a link for a fic on Tumblr. At the time, I didn’t know what Tumblr was; I’d heard of it but had no idea what it consisted of. The fic I came across was around 40+ chapters, and I was in my glory reading this angsty story about Liam, but it wasn’t finished, so when I reached the last updated chapter, I was like, “I need more.” So I opened Tumblr and searched for more Liam fics and found a trove. I lurked for another month or so before finally making my account in September 2018.
3- How did you pick your blog name?
I wish I had some good story for it, but it’s the most basic thing, lol. It’s just my initials and a significant date. I think if I came into the fandom with the intention of actually doing something with the blog, I would have tried to come up with something a little more clever and creative, but I had zero intention of doing anything but reading. I thought about changing it a few years ago, but when I learned that I’d have to relink everything in my masterlist, it didn’t seem worth the hassle.
4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!
It’s from the day TRR 3 ended and it’s about how I was sad that it was over but was glad that I had all these stories to read.
5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?
I’d never written anything until I joined the fandom, so I’ve only been writing for almost five years now. The thought of writing didn’t even cross my mind when I joined the fandom, but within a couple of weeks of making my blog, I had a random idea pop up in my head, and for some reason, I decided to write it down. A few days later, after talking myself out of posting and then talking myself back into it, I bit the bullet. For me to post a story that I wrote was entirely out of my comfort zone. I’m pretty shy and tend to be more of a wallflower, so I don’t usually put myself out there, especially like that, and I’ve never been someone who does something where I intentionally set myself up, knowing there is a very good chance that I will fail. And social media on any platform can be a pretty intimidating and terrifying place when you open yourself up, especially to strangers, even by way of posting a measly little fanfic. So to say I was terrified of posting that first fic is an understatement, but I’m so glad that I did.
6- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?
The Royal Romance will always be my favorite. It was the first book I ever played and was the only one I played for well over a year (I just kept replaying over and over and over until @cocomaxley convinced me to give MotY a try, which I fell in love with). It’s my comfort book. And like every book, it definitely has its flaws, but I love it and the characters so much. And TRR is my favorite book to write about. Liam will always be my number one guy.
7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?
The first fic that I wrote was I Dare You. It’s not an all-time favorite of mine, but I like it well enough that I wouldn’t change anything about it.
8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
This is tough because I have a few that I love for different reasons, but I think Always You will always be the most special to me because it was the first series I wrote that I can truly say I poured my whole heart into. I love that story, and I love the history between Liam and the OC, their bond, and their relationship.
9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?
When I decided to start Hopeless Hearts, I didn’t think it would be received any differently from most things I’d written before. It was an idea I’d kept on the back burner for over 2 years prior to writing it because I didn’t think it was anything spectacular or out of the box. It turned out to be my most well-received series, and it became one of my personal favorites as well.
I don’t think anything I’ve written has left me feeling as though I wished it had gotten more. I’m still surprised to this day that anyone wants to read anything I’ve written at all, so any love that my fics get is beyond appreciated.
10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Angst (but with a HEA). I love putting my characters through the wringer before giving them that happily ever after they deserve. Whether I’m reading or writing, there’s something about feeling the pain and longing they’re going through that gets me emotionally invested. I think that’s why I love the second chance romance trope so much, too. It’s a really versatile trope, but there’s a lot of room for angst in those kinds of stories because of that established history between the characters and a past that tore them apart the first time around.
11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
I think I sprinkle a little bit of myself into all of my MCs/OCs. It’s usually something small like a favorite food, a hobby, certain mannerisms, etc. I think the one that I’ve added more of myself into than any other and can relate to the most personality wise would definitely be Charlotte.
12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?
I struggle with all of it here and there, and I’m constantly questioning whether something makes sense, if it’s flowing together, if it’s too descriptive or not descriptive enough, etc. I think the one area I most consistently struggle with is deciding where and how to end because I always want to leave my chapters with a cliffhanger or if I’m finishing something for good, I want to give it the ending it deserves.
13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
I have quite a few that are unfinished that I know I more than likely won’t ever pick back up, mostly because I just lost my mojo for them, but there are definitely some that I want to finish. I’d really like to get back to Past Meet Present one day. I don’t even remember why I got off track with writing it, and it’s been at least two years or more since I last updated it 🫣 so I’m not sure if anyone would even still be interested at this point, but I’d really like to finish that along with Breaking Point and Us Again.
14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?
No. Maybe. I don’t know, lol. I try to be a “never say never” kind of person, but writing is something that I’ve done for almost five years that literally no one in my real life knows about. Not my friends, not my family, not a single soul. It’s like my dirty little secret. And it’s a little tough because it does get lonely sometimes when you have something that you love doing so much but you just feel like you can’t share or aren’t ready to share that part of yourself with even those closest to you. I’m a pretty self-conscious person, and posting on here where I can hide behind a screen is hard enough; I get nervous and have a good spike of anxiety every time I post something, no matter what it is. I don’t know if I could handle someone who knows me personally even knowing that I write, let alone actually reading something I’ve written. I’ve got the bubble gut just thinking about it 🥴
15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?
I’ve been lucky enough to talk to and befriend some amazing and talented people in the time I’ve been here who I’ve certainly looked up to when it comes to their writing talents. And there are also those writers who I got to know after I’d been writing for a while that not only continued to inspire me with their amazing stories and talent but who also became a huge support and really close friends. They were and/or are always willing to brainstorm, look over snippets, help in those moments when I’ve been extra critical of myself and feeling very unsure, and/or have just been the absolute best cheerleaders and constantly supportive and encouraging to not only me but others as well. I don’t want to make a list because I always end up forgetting someone and I don’t want to leave anyone out, but anyone that fits that bill above, you know how much I love and appreciate each one of you.
16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
I’d say either Always You or Hopeless Hearts for a movie. Series I think Full Disclosure with some Charlotte shenanigans would be pretty fun 😂
17- Do you write original fiction?
I haven’t. I’ve been asked a few times about whether I’ve thought about turning a couple of my series into original stories, but I just don’t think I’ll have the confidence to ever do it 😬
18 -  What other hobbies do you have?
I do photography. I love calligraphy and making hand drawn quote signs on wood or canvas. I love to read — I’m currently in my fantasy girl era and have been obsessing over the ACOTAR series for months, lol.
19 - What’s your favorite emoji?
I use so many to express myself in conversations that I think it would be hard to pick just one. My most commonly used ones: 💀 😂 🥲 😬 😍 🥴 🥹
20: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).
I just want to thank CFWC for working so hard to help keep this fandom active and supporting everyone here.
To anyone who’s taken any time to read my stories and interact with me in any way, I appreciate it more than I can say.
This place has been such an escape for me over the past (almost) five years, one I’m still very much in need of. So, whether you’re a content creator, writer, artist, reader, whatever the case may be, whether we’ve interacted before or not, thank you for what you’ve done to help keep this fandom alive.

Gabriela knew it was Cas before she even stepped inside the office. It was the sound of her footsteps that gave her away. Chunky, black combat boots on linoleum, the thuds of her footfalls somehow imbued with arrogance even though Gabbie couldn’t see her through the closed door.
Like she moved with a swagger in her step. With a purpose. One that, as the door swung open to reveal Gabriela’s very own dark-eyed, gloating, she-devil nightmare, she realised she was likely the target of.
‘Isn’t it past your bedtime, Golden Girl?’ Cas smirked, glancing up at the clock. 10:43pm. All the faculty had gone home hours ago, even the evening cleaning staff, and here Gabriela was, still grading papers in the office like she was gunning for a “World’s Best TA” trophy.
‘How did you even get in here, Cas?’ Gabriela asked. ‘The campus should be locked.’
‘Since when has a little thing like a locked door or a “no trespassing” sign stopped me? I’ve been breaking and entering from the minute I could walk!’ Cas’s grin only grew wider as she spread her arms in a mocking flourish. ‘Pretty sure my first word was “minor misdemeanour.”’
‘That’s two words.’ Gabriela marked down a “B” in red ink and stacked the graded paper neatly in a pile with the others she’d completed. She paused, a pointed silence hanging between them as the door swung closed with a resounding click. ‘Aren’t you going home?’
Stalking closer, Cas rounded the desk to drop a kiss to the bare slope of Gabriela’s shoulder. Gabriela’s fingers tightened around her pen as Cas gripped the edge of the desk, her arms caging her in on either side.
‘No,’ Cas murmured in her ear. ‘You want me to just end my night after a little B&E? I’m sure there are pleeenty of other rules we could break together.’
‘We’re not breaking any rules tonight, Cassie.’
‘You sure about that?’
Intent on the papers before her, Gabriela did her best to ignore Cas as she scraped blunt, human teeth down the column of her throat, nipping a bite just beneath her jaw. Despite herself, Gabbie angled her head, giving Cas better access. Goddamn it all.
‘Gotta say, President Adalhard,’ Cas murmured. ‘You are looking all kinds of delicious today.’
Cas skimmed a knuckle down Gabriela’s neck, nudging the edge of her soft, grey cardigan until it was in danger of slipping right off her shoulder. She’d paired it with a strappy tank and a floaty, A-line skirt today, hoping to catch Cas’s attention.
Gabbie was as thrilled as she was nervous to find herself trapped against the desk, Cas all but devouring her with her gaze.
‘But, as cute as you look in this outfit, I’m pretty sure it violates the dress code.’
‘Really, Cas? That’s your angle?’ Gabriela snorted indelicately, rolling her eyes. Tugging her cardigan more firmly onto her shoulders, Gabriela stacked another paper on the “completed” pile. ‘Is this the part where you tell me I should take it off?’
‘Hey, you said it, not me!’ Cas raised her hands defensively, her grin utterly wicked as she straightened up. ‘No complaints if you do, though.’
Blood warming, Gabriela sucked her lip into her mouth, biting the plush curve until it was swollen and tender. Bad idea, she chided herself, not at all paying attention to the heat of Cas’s thighs as she leaned on the desk beside her. Being alone in the office with Cassie Harlow could only be a bad idea.
Cas nudged the cardigan again. It slipped right off Gabriela’s shoulder to pool around her elbow. Cas’s grin was unrepentant.
Gabbie made a noise that was half-laughter, half exasperated sigh. ‘Cas! You are such a bad influence.’
‘Yup. That’s why you like me,’ Cas said, a teasing glint in her eyes. ‘Oh, sorry, how did it go? That’s why you think I’m just so cool and gorgeous, and you have the most infuriatingly beautiful smile, Cas, like some fallen angel! You are the worst kind of temptation. And even though I know I shouldn’t, I can’t stop thinking about your—’
‘Okay, enough! God, you’re annoying!’ Gabriela ducked her head, heat rising to her cheeks. It had been a week since her teary, drunken confession at Nicole’s spring break rager and Cas would not let her live it down. That night, Cas had howled with merciless laughter and thrown Gabbie’s drunk ass in an Uber with a rather-more-sober Libby to keep an eye on her. But ever since then, the menace quoted Gabriela’s ill-advised monologue at every available opportunity.
Gabriela fisted her hands atop the desk. ‘You are never going to let me live this down, are you?’
‘Not a fucking chance, Adalhard. Not a fucking chance.’
Gabbie had been adamant she was going to take her ill-advised crush on Cas Harlow to the proverbial grave. But as things had turned out —embarrassment and endless teasing aside— the drunken confession had worked out rather in her favour.
***
One week earlier…
Gabriela woke to a pounding in her temples and a thick, dry feeling in her mouth.
God. A hangover. She actually had a hangover. As a vampire. She must have seriously outdone herself last night.
It was early enough yet, so Gabriela moved through her morning routine on autopilot; shower, brush teeth, complete skincare routine, fix hair. By the time she was settling down into a cross-legged position on her yoga mat, Gabriela was feeling marginally more human.
Well. As human as she could feel, these days. Shrugging off the stinging thought before it could burrow too far under her skin, Gabbie drew in a deep breath, intent on following the prompts on the YouTube tutorial she was watching and emptying her mind as best she could.
She was just beginning to relax when she was interrupted by a knock at the door.
A loud knock.
A very rude knock.
A knock that sounded alarmingly like someone was not, in fact, knocking, but rather kicking at her door with one oversized, metal-studded boot.
‘Nooo,’ Gabbie muttered to herself. It was far too early in the morning to be dealing with Harlow’s particular brand of delinquency. ‘What do you want now?’
Rising from the mat, she padded barefoot to her front door, wrenching it open to come face to face with one smirking, silver-eyed menace.
‘Oh, honey, I’m home.’ Cas ran a tongue across one of her fangs, a mocking smile on her face and two large cups of coffee in her raised hands, one iced, one hot and fragrant with curls of rising steam.
Gabriela leaned against the doorframe, her arms crossed tightly against her chest.
‘What,’ she deadpanned.
‘Aw, come on, now,’ Cas said. ‘Is that any way to treat your favourite Venandi?’
Gabriela watched as Cas raised the iced coffee to her mouth, her lips sinfully full and hypnotising as she took an obnoxiously loud sip through the straw. Gabriela winced, the sound grating on her over-sensitive hearing.
A moment passed. Another. Gabriela sighed through her nose.
‘What do you want, Harlow?’
‘I was in the neighbourhood.’ Cas took a second, drawn out sip. ‘I had a feeling that after last night, you were really gonna need a coffee this morning.’
‘You literally live on the other side of town.’ Gabriela’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. ‘Did you spit in it? I— what is this?’
‘Damn. Rude.’ Cas prodded the inside of her cheek with her tongue when Gabbie continued to glare at her. ‘Look, do you want the coffee or not?’
Without waiting for an answer Cas shoved the cup into Gabriela’s hand.
Taking a moment to pop the lid off —after one last suspicious glance as Cas, who slurped away at her iced Americano with a feigned air of innocence— Gabriela peered into the cup. And promptly blinked in surprise.
She didn’t know what she’d been expecting — a plastic Halloween eyeball? A dead rat or something?— but she certainly hadn’t been expecting to see a steaming double shot latte with a hint of vanilla, the fluffy foam dusted with a delicate shower of cinnamon.
It was her favourite.
If anyone had told her, even yesterday, that Cassie Harlow, of all people, had memorised her usual coffee order, she’d have laughed full in their face.
Right now, Gabbie didn’t feel like laughing.
Right now, Gabbie felt like the entire world was falling away beneath her feet and she didn’t understand why.
‘Thank.. you?’ Gabriela sucked in a breath, hoping like hell that Harlow hadn’t picked up on the slight flutter of her traitorous heartbeat. ‘What’s the catch?’
‘No catch,’ Cas said, though her mouth twitched as she said it. Shit. ‘I just thought I should add “generous” to that growing list of yours of all my admirable qualities.’
‘What—’ Gabbie hated how breathless she sounded. ‘What are you talking about…?’
‘Aw, come on,’ Cas insisted, her eyes glittering. ‘Rummage around in that big ol’ nerd brain of yours, Adalhard. Figure it out.’
The eagerness about Cas was palpable, Gabriela thought. But it wasn’t malice burning in her eyes just then, nothing so cruel. Teasing, yes —Cas wouldn’t be Cas if she wasn’t teasing Gabriela about something— but there was excitement there, too. And maybe even a flicker of… nervousness? Gabriela blinked. Surely not.
‘Tell me,’ —Cas shifted incrementally closer, and Gabriela sucked in a startled breath— ‘does generosity rank higher or lower than “stubborn loyalty” and “a face so cruelly perfect you can’t decide whether you want to punch it or kiss it”?’
A warning flared in Gabriela’s stomach. The world pitched, tilted, and Gabbie was in freefall.
Just like that, it all came flooding back.
The tears. The yearning. The umpteenth glass of that shimmery, icy slush she and Nicole had been knocking back as if it didn’t have a ludicrously high alcohol content hidden somewhere beneath its bright, peachy taste… taken out of her hands by one surprisingly gentle Cassie Harlow.
As she’d burst out in delighted laughter. As she’d promised they’d revisit this conversation when Gabriela was less likely to fall on her own ass.
Oh god.
The warning in Gabriela’s stomach turned icy-hot, searing cold.
She’d told Cas she had feelings for her.
Gabriela’s cheeks were suddenly flaming.
‘Aaaaand there it is.’ Cas snickered.
—noooooooo whatthefuckwhatthefuck why was she literally the most idiotic idiot in the history of idiots whyyyy—
‘Cas—’ Gabbie blurted, though she wasn’t sure what the rest of that sentence was going to be because she clamped her mouth shut against a sudden swell of nausea.
What the hell. What the hell had she been thinking!? Oh, she was going to be sick.
In that moment, Gabriela wasn’t sure if it was the hangover or the embarrassment talking, but either way, she was saved from having to figure out how exactly one is supposed to finish a sentence when they’ve just remembered they’d all but confessed their undying love to their mortal (immortal) enemy the night before, when Cas reached into an inner pocket of her jacket and slapped a brown paper bag into Gabriela’s hand.
It was warm. The paper was slightly greased and smelled of sugar.
Cas clicked her tongue, her face pinched in a way that said she was having entirely too much fun at Gabriela’s expense. ‘Eat something before you hurt yourself, dork.’
Flummoxed, Gabriela opened the bag, part of her wondering if it was big enough to hide in forever and never come out. She peered inside to see a pair of warm, apple fritters, sticky with glazed sugar and cinnamon. The exact kind she’d mentioned liking to Harrison around two years ago when Cas had happened to be within earshot.
She’d remembered.
Gabriela was hungover and Cas had brought her her favourite coffee and apple fritters because she’d remembered.
What on earth was happening?
Gabbie lifted her head to stare deep into Cassie’s eyes, her mouth falling softly open. For a moment, there was nothing but the quiet; the slow, sleepy stillness of a New England morning, spring flowers and errant blades of grass dew-tipped and swaying in the breeze where they sprouted through cracks in the sidewalk.
‘You… remembered I like these?’
‘Well, yeah. Duh.’ Cas lifted a shoulder in a too-casual shrug, something in her gaze softening from teasing to warm. ‘Is there room on that list of all the stuff you love about me? ‘Cause I don’t know about you, but after all this sappy shit I’m pulling this morning, I think you’re gonna have to add “fucking amazing girlfriend” to the list.’
‘Girl—’ Gabriela choked around the tentative bite of sugar and pastry she’d been unable to resist taking. She coughed, clearing her throat. ‘I’m sorry, but did you just say girlfriend?’
Cas’s knife-sharp smirks had always cut Gabriela to the quick. So proud, so bold, so unapologetically Cas… so beautiful.
It was no different now.
Drawing one last sip of coffee through her straw, Cas rattled the ice cubes around the empty cup, then very slowly and deliberately set it down atop Gabriela’s mail box.
Then she smiled, and it was the bright glow of the moon.
Coffee cup in one hand, apple fritter in the other, Gabriela had her hands full when Cas cupped the back of her neck. Cas slid a palm against her waist, fisting the fabric of her sweatshirt at the small of her back and sharply tugging her close. Gabriela squeaked in surprise, her pulse leaping to her throat.
Tilting her head in amused challenge, Cas simply stared at her. Her eyes flicked down to her lips. Gabriela swallowed, hardly daring to hope, and then —in a way that felt inevitable— Cas’s mouth found her own.
Trust Cas to leave her defenceless. But Gabriela always had been, when it came to the stubborn Venandi. Cas was in her very bloodstream. Gabriela could only hold on to her coffee and apple fritters and try to remember how to breathe.
Their kisses tasted of sugar and cinnamon. So unexpectedly sweet and soft against the absolute possession that was Cas hauling her close, sinking her teeth into her lip, tracing her tongue across the seam of her mouth. Gabriela opened to her, and Cas growled into the kiss, flicking her tongue across Gabriela’s and pinning her against the doorframe.
Her knees buckled. It hardly mattered. Cassie’s hand at her back was steady, her body warm and solid with muscle. Cas wasn’t letting her go anywhere. Cas held her steady, even as she fell.
When the two of them finally broke apart, and Gabriela stood there, breathless, heat flaming in her cheeks, Cas simply leaned to the side to take a bite from the apple fritter in Gabriela’s hand.
‘Yeah.’ Cas licked the sugar from her lips, chewing her stolen bite of apple fritter with an unrepentant grin. ‘Girlfriend.’

Book: Open Heart (post series)
Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x F!MC Casey Ramsey, F!OC Alexis Ramsey

Word count: 954

Authors note: This is in a way a follow on from Love in all forms. Submission for Pride Bingo card history
🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
It had been four months since Alexis came out to her parents and Tobias. After that it had been easier for her to be out in the open with her girlfriend Fiona. They have been very happy but they had made the conscious decision that they would not continue dating after High school. Fiona was going to Yale and Alexis UPenn and they both knew long distance would be hard and they wanted each other to have the full college experience.
Even though it was sad on one level it was also a cause for celebration, especially since they were still together for Pride month.
For Casey, pride month was very busy. For a bulk of her career she had been advocating and researching health outcomes and how they could be better not just for those in a lower socio economic areas but also the lgbtqi+ community. At both the Delores Hudson and the Naveen Banerji clinics, there was a number of staff whom identified as gay or bi-sexual so pride was a big deal for all the staff, whether they identified or not. This year, the celebration focused on the staff’s history with pride and how they have celebrated, as well as the other celebrations and acknowledgements of what work still needed to be done.
While setting up for the main Pride Gala, Alexis and Fiona came to help. Casey and Jackie were setting up a photo board of all the photos taken over the years of Pride celebrations. Some photos were clearly old, with some staff members clearly still looking like they were in college. Both Alexis and Fiona were shocked to see photos of Casey at pride.
“I did not realize you were a part of the lgbtqi+ community Mrs R?” Said Fiona
Casey chuckles, “No Fiona, I am as Heterosexual as they come. I have always been an ally though, you guys need to remember, I am old, when I was a teenager was a rough time, there was very little queer visibility and we were still getting over the AIDS panic from the 80’s. Some things are better now but still some serious struggles, depending on the state you live in too.”
At that point Casey was called away and Alexis and Fiona looked at the photos, Alexis spotted one of a clearly very young Uncle Tobias, as well as other staff and then Alexis stalled, she saw a photo of her, her brother Hudson and her mum and dad. She would have been five at the time.
Fiona was about to ask what was the matter when she saw the photo that Alexis was looking so intently at.
“I can not remember this, I look like I was 5 so that maybe why but I am feeling like an idiot right now.”
Tobias walked over and overheard part of the conversation.
“Ahh young Lexi, that looks like the last pride parade that you attended as a family. Hudson started his too cool to hang with my parents phase not long after and we’ll they did not want to leave one of you out so from then on your parents attended and you kids went to a friends or grandpa Naveen’s or Alan’s.”
Tobias chuckled when he saw the picture of him, omg I was so young he said.”
Alexis was still shook about how much of an idiot she had been.
“I was so nervous about coming out because I thought that mum and dad would dismiss it as a phase or hate me for it…. But this display. I had no idea how much of an ally they are.”
“To be fair, I do not think an lgbtqi child was on their parenting bingo card” said Fiona, “despite the research and work that you know they do, it is not really something that comes up.”
“True” said Alexis thoughtfully.
“As I said on the day you saw me Lexi, unless you betrayed their trust in you, you had nothing to worry about.”
The girls then went to see where they could help and Tobias went and tracked down Casey to go through the run of events. Tobias mentioned that Lexi saw a photo of the Ramsey family at Pride.
“They were fun times, we really should have continued taking both kids despite Hudson’s reluctance to be seen with us…”
“I get not wanting to leave one out though and it is not like you know then that one would be bisexual.”
“This is true Tobias.”
Later that night, during dinner Alexis apologized for not realizing how much of an ally that they were to the LGBTQI+ community and for thinking you would hate me for identifying as such.
“Sweetheart, we understand more than you know how harrowing things like coming out can be. It is not something we have done personally but we our hope was to be the parents you felt comfortable coming to talk to us, not about coming out but relationships and other potential sticky topics in general.”
“That is why I brought back the dinner as we knew something was up but wanted to show you how loved you are.”
Alexis smiled, “I love you too mum and dad and thank you for being so understanding.”
A few days later was the kick off to Pride events at both Edenbrook and the Delores Hudson Clinic. The celebration was a success and everyone enjoyed the photo display of the staff and their history of association with Pride and most importantly, Alexis and Fiona had an even more fuller understanding of just how important it was to only celebrate what has been achieved but to use Pride as a platform to continue the good work.

He tapped his fingers on the desk nervously, glancing at the clock every few seconds. She was running late. She was never late. His heart pounded at the very thought that the guards caught her, but he immediately reassured himself, thinking that she was a master charmer and a family member of the King's advisor—nobody should question her presence in the palace. Selene knew how to manipulate like nobody else.
Unable to stay in one place, Tyril opened the balcony door, trying to get as much fresh air into the room as possible despite the high humidity. The palace was located in the Valley of the Rhine, overgrown with ever blooming greenery, which only added to the feeble air circulation caused by the tropical climate of the kingdom. He ran a hand through his long hair, wet at the base, and took a deep breath. No use, the air outside was just as still as inside.
Tyril, with his back against the balcony’s pillar, rubbed his tired eyes. He was being ridiculous.
"Long day, Prince?"
His head perked up at the sound of her voice.
"Yes. However, we finally got to the pleasurable part," he responded, trying his best to contain the smile that tried to bloom on his face at her sight. “You’re late.”
Selene locked the door, taking her time with the answer, trying to determine the prince’s mood. Having grown up learning his behaviour, two words were enough to decipher what was happening in his mind. He was tired and perhaps still sore after the morning's sword fighting training which, according to a rumour, ended rather badly for the prince.
She made her way towards him, slowly, gracefully, never breaking eye contact. It was a game, a contest with no particular goal, one that originated almost a decade earlier when she was first officially introduced at the palace as the daughter of Lord Vinsant, a respected and esteemed royal advisor who has been performing his duty for over thirty years. Selene vividly remembered the young prince, standing next to the King, as stiff as a board but smiling impudently, holding her gaze as if looking away equalled death.
She wrapped her arms around his stomach, veiled by a silk robe. "Mal held me back."
Tyril nodded imperceptibly.
"Did he ask you to hurry up and give him an answer already?"
"Don't spoil the mood."
The corner of his lips raised slightly, against his will and to hide his discomfort, his palm cupped Selene's face. "You look decent tonight."
She raised her eyebrows, surprised. "Decent? Decent is all I get for standing in the fitting room for three hours?"
"You know no humility."
"I know I deserve more than what you give me."
Tyril swallowed, his gaze slipping to her lips in a futile attempt to end the conversation. Although she meant it in a different context, she was right. She deserved more from him.
Selene shook her head, changing the subject.
"Let me take care of you, prince Tyril," she whispered, her lips brushing against his as she spoke. A barely audible "please" left his lips, just seconds before her tongue slid across his lower lip.
Tyril would never admit what Selene's been aware of for years, the fact that she had him wrapped around her finger. She knew how to press his buttons, how to please him, how to make him believe her wishes and intentions were his own. The day he realised how she's played him, he gave her the best sex of her life. For the next week he was insufferable, bitter and twisted, making everyone's life unbearable, but it was worth it.
"That must've been painful," mumbling into his lips, she outlined the black bruise on his hip when his pants fell to the ground. Tyril ignored the remark, focusing on undoing the most intricate clasp he'd ever seen.
"You did that on purpose," he mumbled.
"I like to watch you struggle."
Exasperated, Tyril wasted no time once the dress pooled at their feet—holding her firmly, he lifted her up and slid inside her when her back touched the cold wall. She bit back a moan, and Tyril cursed under his breath. He's waited almost a month to hear a moan coming out of her mouth.
"I'm glad there's still a way to make you stop talking," he panted into her mouth, and his grip on her thighs tightened, making sure to leave a mark. "But that's the wrong moment."
"Let me be the judge of that."
"I won't move until those pretty lips make the sound I want to hear."
"Can you last that long?"
"Can you?"
His hand wandered around her stomach to finally land in the place she wanted him the most, pressing and stroking the swollen nub. Having lost her resolve within seconds, Selene moaned, ready to beg and promise sweet nothings just to make him move.
He smiled defiantly. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
His hand, the one that rested between her legs, moved to cup her chin, but she intercepted it, guiding it back there. "It's staying there."
Being a frequent presence at the royal court, Selene knew all the gossip and news, which was made her a dangerous enemy. There was one rumour going around, though, that she could confirm—the royal dick was exquisite, and she found herself lucky to be the only one to have tasted it.
She felt him leaving a love mark on hear collarbone but at that moment she could not care less, not when his hips did its wonders. The worrying could come later.
"Imagine the scandal if we were spotted," he gasped into her mouth, holding her tight against the wall, buried deep inside her warm core. Despite her best efforts to snap back, tease, anything really, all that left her throat were quiet whimpers. "You're trouble, my darling."
"Even if the news of our affair had spread, you wouldn't have suffered any consequences, Princeling."
"It's a bad fame all the same," he rasped before a particularly deep thrust. "The monarchy cannot be perceived as weak," another thrust. A quiet moan escaped his lips, and his left hand clasped around the base of Selene's throat, applying some pressure. "Do you understand?"
In a pathetic act of desperation, she tightened the grip of her legs around the Prince's waist, forcing him to step even closer, get even deeper. Mewling and squirming, writhing in his embrace, she would agree to anything. He allowed her to try and regain control, with parted, swollen lips and a flush on his cheeks, graciously allowed her to think she had him in her grasp. Feeling the familiar clenching of her muscles around him, Tyril tightened the grasp on her throat, lifting her head with his index finger, forcing her to look him in the eye.
"I said, do you understand?"
She nodded profusely, wrapping a hand around his.
"You will not be the fall of me."
"What makes you think I'd do that?"
"I know you, Lady Vinsant, you and your vindictive nature. Don't you dare try to destroy my legacy," he snapped. He felt her nails dig so deep into the skin of his back to draw blood.
"Your entire legacy is the foundation of an elite whorehouse, Prince Starfury. I'd be afraid to catch the clap by touching the door handle," she stuttered out, panting. "Rest assured, I won't come close."
"You're forgetting your place."
"You're talking too much."
Seizing the opportunity, Selene guided his hand from her throat to her chest, to the part of her that always made his anger evaporate, his favourite toys, or rather stress balls. Having spent so much time with them, he learned to treat them with expert care and what to do to make it the most pleasurable experience for the owner.
She allowed herself to rest, to let him do all the work, as her head rested against the wall and her embrace weakened slightly. For Tyril it was a sign that she was close, and thank heavens, because he's been trying his best to get her to finish first which was a massive fucking undertaking after a three-week-long abstinence.
He relished those sinful sounds she made. At that moment, he'd swear those were the best piece of music to have ever been produced. Sober, he'd admitted to himself that the best thing he's ever heard was "You make me feel funny things." She was drunk, and that sentence was the culmination of a long speech about her growing up thinking he was the enemy, in which she implied over and over that she had feelings for him. They never discussed it as she didn't remember, and he wouldn't dare bring it up, but it's been often on his mind.
He did love to make her look like utter mess. A panting, sweaty, flushed mess, begging him to do things no lady should ever say out loud. That he did admit to her. And she took his words to heart.
Tumblr media
"That's new," Selene hummed, softly dragging her finger across a long, red scar on his abdomen. Tyril watched her with his head resting against the headboard, calmly taking in the sight of her pink cheeks and the slightly turned-up nose. Having reached over to the night stand, he handed her a glass jar with salve, which she took wordlessly. As she busied herself with applying the cold, sticky mixture on the angry looking skin, Tyril wrapped a streak of her blonde hair around his finger, the only curled one due to high humidity in the valley.
"A close encounter with a harpy."
"Why do you do that? Why go out into the unknown when you have an army ready to grub up the entire greenery surrounding the castle?"
"For the thrill, I suppose. The castle becomes dull after a while, let alone after almost thirty years," he responded with a shrug, letting go of her hair and taking a look around the spacious chamber.
Selene raised an eyebrow. "Is that why you let Círdan defeat you this morning?"
"Why do you find it so hard to believe I simply lost this time? Círdan is the teacher, after all—he is supposed to be better than me. Otherwise, he would have nothing to teach me."
Selene snorted. She leaned over him, placing the jar on the night stand, her knee accidentally touching his crotch.
An innocent smiled stretched on her lips as she saw him clench his jaw. "A harpy wasn't able to defeat you, but Círdan was?"
"Stop talking," he growled.
She knew. Perhaps she'd known for a long time, and it was him who was oblivious to the obvious. He put himself in dangerous positions just to get a boost of adrenaline, a dangerous tactic, especially practised by an overconfident and stuck up prince.
"Make me."
There was no foreplay in their case ever. They kept teasing each other, yes, but simply because that's how they preferred to get the deed done. That's why Tyril pushed her legs apart and placed himself between them, almost without a word. "I can go all night, love, but by midnight you'd lose your voice."
"I'm glad you still know your place, prince."
The way this man knew exactly how to please her made question his truthfulness—he swore she was his first, but his skills made him seem to be very much experienced, thus, he was either lying or just that talented. Whichever option it was, Selene was just glad she got to experience that before she died—she doubted anyone would ever make her feel that good again.
When his hands reached over towards her chest, she knew it was over for her, it always went down the exact same way. His tongue worked relentlessly and excellently, the affirmation of that could probably be heard even by the guards passing by that side of the palace. Infuriatingly enough, he made it a point of honour not to use his fingers, so Selene instructed him to at least be a bit rougher with her breasts. She held a spark of hope when suddenly her legs began to tremble and his hands went back to keep them from strangling him—yet the prince remained ignorant of her shameless pleas.
The climax was much more intense than they'd both expected, but as Selene lied spent in utter bliss, Tyril couldn't help but feel proud of himself. He left several wet kisses on the inside of her thighs and lazily rolled out of the embrace of her warmest part to lie next to her.
"The match has been made," Tyril spoke up once his breath evened out. Selene hummed against his neck, encouraging him to elaborate, as she took deep breaths, trying to calm down her pounding heart.
"It's your friend, Lady Ade—"
"Who made that call?"
He swallowed, rapidly thinking of all the possible outcomes of this conversation. Perhaps he made a mistake by bringing up that subject.
"The King."
She nodded. The most important task now was to convince herself it was better that way.
"What about you? Have you made the decision yet? You can't keep them waiting, Selene, unless your plan is for them to give you up," he murmured, tenderly stroking her back. "You have to accept a suitor."
"I'm good."
He sighed. Tyril knew she waited for him to take matters into his own hands and choose her, to stand up to his father, to rule the land in a way that would bring prosperity and calmness. Meanwhile, she was right, his only achievement was founding a high quality house of ill repute.
"I can't give you what you desire, my darling."
She propped her head on one hand, the other she rested on his cheek, stroking it tenderly. A smile stretched on her lips at the similarity of his eyes to the ocean she's seen recently. Calm, peaceful, yet hiding unbounded amounts of power, rage, and destruction. Instead of saying, "I know," she licked her lower lip and kissed him, slowly and tenderly, relishing in the feeling of his tongue against hers. "Be good to her, Tyril," she whispered instead, and untangled herself from his embrace.
Tyril suddenly felt overwhelmed by the spreading panic as he watched her dress herself and approach the door.
"It pains me to think of you with someone else, but it has to be done. You were never mine, I don't have the right to ask you to stay."
"I was yours over and over again," she mumbled. "All you had to do was speak up–"
"It wouldn't have changed anything, Selene. Your knowledge of the power relations in the palace is faulty. As long as the King reigns, no one in his family has the right to decide for themselves."
"And Adeline, of all people," she continued, fighting with the zip of her dress. Murmuring to herself, she collected her belongings, careful not to forget anything since she was probably never coming back there. She halted her actions when she'd realised Tyril became quiet a while ago. Suspiciously quiet. She came closer to him, searching for an answer in his profile. For the first time, he didn't dare look her in the eye, and that very fact made her feel a pit in her stomach. Thinking of all their encounters, of her audiences with the Royal Family, balls and trainings, she couldn't come up with the reason for his behaviour.
"Her father is a very influential man–"
"No," she snapped. "Don't you dare lie to me now. Look at me."
It was unusual to see the prince so uncomfortable. In a different situation, she'd gloat. Now she had to stop herself from clenching her hand on his jaw and crushing that spoilt pretty face.
"It was a decade ago. It was her mother who spread the rumours about you," he said low, his gaze dropping to her clenched jaw. "You've been out of the competition since then. That was the cost of your father retaining his position. A marriage with you would weaken us."
His hand itched to wipe the tear that rolled down her rosy cheek.
"You used me," she hissed through gritted teeth. "I've come here every week for a year. We've known each other since we were children," she blinked, trying to get rid of the tears gathering in her eyes. She felt her body shaking with rage and desperation. He betrayed her. "You've known and didn't think of telling me. Instead, you watched me abase myself before you and–"
"Don't pretend that you didn't come here out of your own volition to get properly fucked–”
Slap. Tyril snorted.
"I've never regretted not having a knife in my hand as much as I do right now."
"If you want to make me the villain, go ahead. You're in no position to actually hurt me."
Selene shook his head in disbelief. Was it a game for game since the very beginning? It certainly didn't feel so at the moment, but perhaps he was just that good of a manipulator. More than at him, she was angry with herself for actually believing he was different from what everyone around her said.
"Watch your back, Princeling."

Y’all are amazing! I wanted to say something yesterday but I was truly at a loss for words when Elsa messaged me.
I don’t deserve the honor you have all given me by surprising me with your group decision for me being the next CFWC’s writer of the month. I would absolutely 100% choose any and all of you before me but I am so beyond surprised, happy, and excited that y’all did this for me. Thank you thank you thank you!
Thank you to each of you for participating in this little event and for supporting other writers and being all around some of the most amazing people!!

Event Idea for fic writers to support (this month maybe, idk?
Tagging @choicesficwriterscreations
Each member of cfwc or doesn't have to be a member, gets a name of a fic writer like in secret santa or secret admirer events. The person who get a name has to choose one fic of a person or ask the writer which one they would recommend to start with - to read it, reblog it with comment. While someone does that someone else might do the same for them if they participate.
Tagging some cool CFWC and non-CFWC writers: @storyofmychoices ; @lilyoffandoms ; @peonierose ; @tessa-liam ; @jerzwriter ; @hopelessromantic1352 @ladylamrian ; @korgbelmont ; @clansayeed ; @kinda-iconic ; @infactnoimmasitinthemiddle ; @aces-and-angels ; @... and more writers I can't think about cuz black-out ??? That's why EVERY writer (big and small ones) need more appreciation no matter what fandom.
Writers are nothing without readers.
I love this idea! I know @jerzwriter and I have talked about something like this before.
Would anyone be interested?

October 2023 WOTM: peonierose
Tumblr media
Each month CFWC highlights one of our talented fanfic writers, and this month’s writer of the month is @peonierose. We hope you will enjoy learning more about them and their work below! The writer is selected at random. More info can be found on the navigation page.
Quick Links:
Tumblr Blog: peonierose Blog Masterlist
How do you want to be known on Tumblr? Peonie or PR is fine 🥰
1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
Way back when Choices first launched. My first book was The Freshman Series - book 1. It was so fun to play the books and get super excited for new chapters. I was waiting until midnight for new chapters. It was the first time I’ve played an app where I could make decisions and use diamonds for VIP scenes 😍
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
I joined the Choices fandom back in 2021. I really missed Open Heart after book 3 ended (and left me wanting more) So I wanted to see if there were any more stories I could binge, and that’s how I stumbled upon Tumblr 🥰
3- How did you pick your blog name?
It may sound weird but it just came to me. Peonies are my favorite flowers. As soon as I thought peonie I quickly added rose and I was like that sounds so cool and it’s unique which I love 😍 And that’s how peonierose was born.
4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!
Gosh. This feels like forever ago. When I first came on tumblr I didn’t post or reblog much 😅 (too shy to interact with anyone 🙈)
5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?
It has been 2 years in August this year since I’ve actively started writing fanfic 🥰 (I still can’t believe I actually made the leap and decided to post any of my stories).
6- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?
You’re really going to make me choose? There are so many good ones 😱
I love to write for two of my favorite books which are Nightbound and Open Heart. Those are the ones I feel most connected to 🥰 Though I’d love to venture out and make edits or social media posts for other choices books too.
7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?
I wrote Robin‘s Tell-All from TNA, and it was the first fic I’ve ever shared. I really wanted to write a story from Robin‘s POV and how all that happened in TNA affected him and all the mistakes he made.
I wanted to showcase his inner struggle.
I remember how nervous I was to post something that I’d written. I thought to myself, will people even like my story? And if they do like it, then what? It was a great rush to see the reblogs, and the love for my first-ever posted fic.
If I could change one thing, it would probably be the moodboard 😅
8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
That is a tough question, because to me every fic I‘ve written has a special place in my heart. So every story reflects the feelings I’ve felt while writing my story.
Buuuuut if I had to choose: It would be a tie between By a Landslide (Bryce and Luna), the 3rd chapter of my Nightbound series - Unexpected and Go with the Flow (Luna & Bryce)
9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?
I actually didn’t think I’m a sucker for you, A Pinch of Pink and Blue…This one‘s for you,  Cinnamon Sugar and Wildflower, to be as well received as they did.
However, I think Bittersweet Symphony and Losing Game (1 / 4) could use some more love.
Both stories are amazing and I think you’ll love both my pairings. Luna & Bryce and of course Maxine and Adam.
10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
I am by no means a smut writer 😅 Maybe I’ll get there 😅 But I’d go with a mix between angst and fluff. I think a nice balance between these two would be good.
11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
Yeah. Tons of times. Take Luna for example. She has anxiety like me, and her appearance, such as her blue-green eyes and dark blonde hair, are like mine. But character wise we’re complete opposites. I wish I’d be more artistic like her 🩷
And Bryce is an Aries like me, and so many things he says or does make me go back, and I’m like, yeah, I would say something like that. Other than that, I’ve learned to give my characters real flaws and make them human, if that makes sense. But it does happen that they end up with character traits that are mine, and then I lean back and realize I’ve given my characters some of my weird and quirky character traits 🤣
12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?
Damn. Umm…I struggle with a lot of things. Finding the right words sometimes because English isn’t my first, not even my second language. I speak six languages, so it's sometimes hard to find the words to describe things.
Showing, not telling that’s another thing I struggle with.
That and if I have to keep a deadline to post something 🤣 Because it takes me forever to post anything I’m not 100% behind and happy with.
13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
How much time you’ve got? I have over 30 wips, that want some desperate attention, and I always keep adding new wips, whenever something inspires me to write 😅
I’ve found some new inspo for Somewhere Only We Know 🥰 Apart from that I’d love to take another look at my two AU‘s Amber & my Nightbound series. So we’ll see what wips I can manage to finish 😅
14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?
Sure. I’d love to get an outside opinion of my work and my characters that are so beloved and close to my heart 🩷
I actually tell people that I write fanfic and original work. And I’ve sent some samples their way and they liked it. Which makes me feel more confident in my writing (not saying it’s perfect, there’s always room for improvement, but it’s getting better).
As for which story to start? I’d say start with Only Love for Bryce and Luna. That was my first story of them and I consider it their start.
Then continue with Always & Forever and Go with the Flow.
Those were my first posted stories about Luna & Bryce and I think you’ll like them. It would give you a good understanding of my storytelling and my characters.
15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?
There are a couple of authors I admire - Chloe Neil, Elise Kova, Nalini Singh, Rachel Caine (R.I.), Rebecca Yarros, and many more. They have influenced and shaped my writing, my fantasy world-building, and, of course building my characters. These authors know how to tell great stories, which makes me admire them so much.
As for fanfic writers who’ve inspired me? I’d love to give a special shoutout to one of my closest friends who’s been my beta reader for almost anything @annieruok She’s an amazing person and writer. Thanks so much for all the times listening to my ramblings about scenes and characters 🩷
16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
My Nightbound series hands down. That is a story that really deserves to be on the big screen or as a Netflix show. I’m not picky.
I’d love to see Grey, Gretel and Hänsel kick some ass. It’s a unique enough story to garner some attention 🥰 I’ve worked really hard to write it and it took me a year to come up with chapters, character names and so forth.
Also Somewhere Only We Know would be cool to see on the big screen. I’d probably weep from joy if any of my stories were ever developed as a movie or series 🥰🥹
17- Do you write original fiction?
Yes, I actually do. I have several original works in my Google docs. And just recently, I had an idea for another original story (I don’t feel comfortable sharing it yet) 🥰 But let’s just say it’s fun to come up with the characters and world-building and everything in between.
18 -  What other hobbies do you have?
Reading books, trying out new recipes in the kitchen. This also reminds me I need to exercise more 🤣

Not surprised you chose @jamespotterthefirst for the writer of month for CFWC.
Nothing beats classic favoritism and connections
Nonny, before I answer, I want to say that I understand there is a worldwide shortage of various meds these days; hey, no shame, it impacts me too! But man, in Tumblrland... it's so apparent.
Some facts:
We select a writer in the same way we select our prize winners, by putting the names on a wheel of names and spinning. We do that to select anyone for anything we do on CFWC. You can check out the full process on CFWC if you're so inclined. I'd provide the link, but honestly, it seems as if you have free time, more than I do, so you can find it yourself.
Now, some other facts, because why not:
Yep. We're friends. And I waited a full 13 months since this event took place to make sure the wheel selected her (because I have control over who the wheel selects! I'm that good!). I also waited until the fandom was just a fraction of the size it used to be to do this because, you know, that makes sense.
I decided to go back and look at the other featured writers over the past year, and *gasp* NONNY! YOU MAY BE ON TO SOMETHING! Holy f*ck, it appears every single writer is someone I'm friends with, too! And... oh shit... this is the really hard part for me to confess to, but I believe in transparency, so I will... see... I WAS NOT friends with all of them at the time they were selected, but as we worked together to create their profiles, we chatted, and, oh f*ck! WE BECAME FRIENDS. So, I consider ALL of them friends now. Jesus. NO! Now I feel bad (this is sarcasm since there is no font for that...). I guess, OMG, I guess each of them and I have shared interests, and I like talking to people, and I try to be friendly and not a POS that goes around sending people nasty anons, so goddamn it... I make... friends... If I were still Catholic, I'd feel the need to confess, but since I'm not, I'm going to have a chocolate chip cookie instead.
Nonny, you are truly, truly pathetic. Obnoxiously so. Kathy and I put in an obscene amount of hours on CFWC for EVERYONE in the fandom. Not just our "friends." Not just the stories we create... for everyone. We go out of our way to get more representation and have never once selected anyone for anything based on our relationship with them.
In the past, I will admit, we used to stress out when someone who was a known friend was selected because we figured some jackass like you would have something to say about it. But we believe every person in the fandom has the right to an equal chance of selection, including our friends. So now, we honestly don't care. We know we're doing the right thing, and the opinions of some pathetic person who doesn't have the balls or decency to show their face/name really matters to us... well... it doesn't matter at all.
I'm going to get my chocolate chip cookie now, in fact. I'm having two.
Have a nice day (even you, Nonny, it seems you need one).

Fandom Thoughts
Here are my thoughts on things that have happened since January in the fandom. I have read Elsa’s posts from yesterday, but I had written this before I read hers. Some of our thoughts are the same, though.
Years ago I was part of the Harry Potter fandom on LiveJournal. I admired the people who could post and be accepted by all. Then I made a mistake; I decided to write, so I became not valued as a reader because one of the “known” writers in the fandom offered to be a beta reader for me. I used to read everyone, but I apparently picked sides by letting someone be my beta. Because two other writers (and their associated friend groups) were having a war that I didn’t know about. Eventually all of those groups left LJ. And it didn’t need to, but egos were involved and everyone had to be the top, the most readers, the most likes, the most friends. Being in a fandom and watching your area of it disintegrate in front of you is no fun.
Why do I mention this? Because I see the beginning of it happening here. And it needs to stop.
Some of us were attacked a few months ago. I know if you were active on tumblr in the Open Heart community you heard about sheepgate. Who were/are the sheep? They don’t need to be mentioned by name, but yes, I was one of them. We were the target because we did something unforgivable. We made friends with other writers and we had fun, publicly. Some of us would send asks and games to the others, but here is the thing, we would also send them to some non-sheep. But apparently we didn’t send them enough because we were exclusionary.
Were we unique here on tumblr? We were not. I can name at least four other friend groups here (one in Open Heart, two in The Royal Romance, and one other one that is hard to place in a specific fandom so I won’t even try). You notice I’m not calling them out because I don’t want them to be subjected to hate blogs. Maybe they have gotten hate anons privately. We apparently had too much fun publicly, so we had two hate blogs created about us. The first one was taken down because it was easily identified by the profile picture used. (Don’t create a hate blog, but if you’re going to, don’t reuse a profile or header pic you’ve used before.)
Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want (I’ve been called worse) but I do think that some people on here are conspiring with others. If someone approaches you to help them with something you find sketchy, don’t do it! In addition to the picture mentioned above, one of the main reasons we knew who was behind the hate blog, some wonderful person sent a message and said it was (name of creator). They tried to get me to help. If you happen to get a message like that, you could be being set up for when it all falls apart. Keep screenshots; you know the other person is.
This isn’t just about the past couple of days, but one outcome of everything really, Friday, for the first time, Elsa and I seriously discussed ending CFWC. We’ve tabled that idea until we can discuss it when we aren’t so upset.
Tumblr is big enough for everyone, even the small fandom that is Choices. Not everyone will have a ton of likes, comments, and reblogs. If lots of recognition is what you want, maybe consider a different fandom. Other fandoms have many more readers, but also a much bigger field. Maybe read more people and comment. As for me, I like Choices, so I’m staying here, at least for now.
One final thought, if you’ve ever sent a hate anon and you’re one of my followers, please hit ‘unfollow’.

Wait! Liam is your favorite LI??!! I never would have guessed that!
Haha. You should’ve seen @jerzwriter’s reaction when she found out. I mentioned it in my CFWC Writer of the Month post.
But it’s true. In real life, that’s my type of guy. And the pure, fluffy romance with Liam in the first two books?
