I did a redesign of the Hazbin hotel cast! thoughts under the cut

(I feel a lot of weird ways abt the show and its concepts and things they couldve done w it lmao)

So my main goal here was to vary up the shapes of the cast to better fit the vibe of their character premise. It makes me insane that there are like, premises as good as "mafia pornstar spider" and "antichrist disney princess clerk lady" and they dont at all really evoke those things in the design?

I tried to make everything more muted and kind of scummier to sort of hit that 50s hotel/mobster pastiche earlier iterations of the cast designs had going on. Tried to simplyify outfits and hair patterns too, but honestly the busyness of hazbins ddesigns arent really that big a thing to me. its more like, i wish those details were more POINTED yknow? say more about the kind of people these are.

Also im sorry but the radio demon is like. why the fuck isnt he uncomfortable to look at? his whole deal is that he's this ominous supernatural benefactor wiho killed and ate people when he was alive but he just looks like the same flavor of twink as everyone else.

im not the most happy w my take on him hear compared to the others but i think the general iea comes though? something abt a blurry due w a second more detailed face underneath his cartoon deer one gets me.
