Marichat May Day 6 + Day 7 (Meet the Parents + Reunion)

Okay so I saw these two prompts and was like why not combine them??

Since Marinette is half-Chinese, I thought it’d be fun to do a Reunion Dinner scenario where Chat Noir *officially* meets Sabine and Tom. And of course they feed him well! For those who don’t know, a Reunion Dinner is a tradition usually held the night before Chinese New Year where loved ones come together to celebrate, catch up with family, and have a delicious feast!

Concept sketch and a lil tidbit fact of that mess on the table under the cut

Concept sketch:

The dish in the centre of the table is an aftermath of a ‘yusheng’, a dish made of an assortment of shredded vegetables, pomelo, crackers, sauces, and salmon/abalone. When the dinner begins, everyone gathers around the table with their chopsticks and tosses the yusheng together while chanting their wishes for the new year ahead! This usually results in bits of vegetables flying everywhere, hence the mess. I love the idea of Sabine and Marinette inviting Chat Noir/Adrien over and him just feeling the love and warmth they have to share. Here’s an example of what a yusheng may look like:
