Imagine lucerys being betrothed to sunshine!reader😭💕 her parents meet with Rhaenyra when she becomes queen to arrange a marriage between lucerys and their youngest daughter, she’s just curious about everything because her parents never let her experience what her older sisters did because they sheltered her at a young girl age but she loves talking and making new friends. She’s so bubbly when greeting everyone like the Targaryens, and she’s not even scared of them because she believes that every one has kindness. And she’s so fascinated by dragons, she immediately comes to look at them and Arrax and Syrax actually like her and Rhaenyra just loves her because she’s kinda like the daughter she’s never had!!

okay but literally imagine, I think everyone would be delighted by how bubbly & endearing you are. First thought I had beforefinishing to read the message, is that Rhaenyra would absolutely ADORE you the very second you greet her in a most respectful manner, with a wide toothy grin growing on your lips— it would take Nyra no time for her to treat you as her own daughter,, she would basically have you under her wing from that very moment.

Knowing that Luke is a little bit shy, I can picture him helplessly smiling at how lovely you simply are. Initially, he would be overwhelmed... But in a good way, of course! Much like his mother — and basically the rest of his family —, Luke would immediatly be swooped off his feet at the sight of, simply, how much of a kind young girl you are, and incredibly respectful as well to each one of his family members, and to him.

I can definitely see Lucerys offering you his arm to walk you around King’s Landing, or the Red Keep, for you to know your way around as you both gleefully chat. In a way, your personality wouod match perfectly with Luke’s— being the one to take him out of his shell, and swiftly improving his mood at the sight of your presence in the same room as he is in.

And since you have a great curiousity for dragons, and they have grown fond of you, perhaps even booping their snouts against your face playfully, Lucerys would take you to the dragonpit to greet them rather often. The way your eyes are simply impressed by the sight of these huge beasts is a loving sight to behold— and he’s most definitely the type to take you on dragonrides on whichever opportunity he has to do so; adoring the way your warm body eagerly holds him as the air delicately hits on your face whilst riding Arrax.

You are just perfect to be the Lady of the Tides, and I’m certain he would be thanking the Seven for gifting him such a wonderful little sunshine as his betrothed.

a sea of endless green, the hills rolling as far as you can see, meeting the mountains somewhere in the distance like old friends. the sun is a honey melt in the sky, ripening to a deep blue. the flowers, bursts of red and pink and orange and white, scatter over the fields before you.

a figure in the distance. silhouetted against the setting sun. standing there, lonesome against the sky.

you'd know the slope of his shoulders anywhere.

"vash!" you crow to the heavens happily, a bird crying out. "vash the stampede!"

that figure turns, but you're already running for him, running down the slopes and bends of the earth and towards him.

and he runs for you, too. shouting your name into the sky.

when you collide, its like reckless stars.

he laughs as he catches you, as he turns to take the brunt of the fall, arms around you tight and secure. with all the momentum, you both roll over each other a few times in the flowers, down the slope of the hill.

when you both finally still, you're on top of him again, still laughing. you pick yourself up, hands flattening against his stomach to lift yourself up. your legs are straddled on either side of his waist.

when your giggles subside, you're left looking at each other, breathing hard. petals caught in his hair, his hat missing somewhere, shirt a little open underneath your hands.

"hey, cowboy," you say slowly, taking him in like you can't believe it's really him, breathless with your excitement, aching with your joy. you breathe it through your smile;

"you came back."

"heya, cowgirl," he says back and his hands twitch, reaching up to pluck petals from your own hair, to take you in, too, "course i came back—i told'ya i would."

his smile is wide and brimming, but you can see that touch of sadness in his eyes—that creeping melancholy, like it's own vine that overtakes and chokes out the flowers of his happiness. you touch at the corner of his eyes as if to chase it away.

"i wasn't sure you'd make it back to me." you admit, smile waning.

he reaches up and covers your hand with his. catches it. presses his lips to your open palm in a reverent kiss. his brow furrows for just a moment.

"i did my best." he says, "i made you a promise."

you pull your hand away to fist both in the front of his shirt. "almost makes up for how you left me, vash the stampede—damn criminal that you are."

he smiles sheepishly, "i am sorry, sweetheart, i knew you'd be mad—"

"damn right i was!" you say, shaking him a little, baring your teeth.

but then you take him in again, underneath you. alive and breathing. heart kicking beneath your hands, beneath all those scars and wounds. back in your life like he'd never left. back on these hills and under the same sky. tears prick your eyes.

you could cry having him back—it's like a dream you thought you'd never have again.

"you better not ever do that to me again—" you say, voice breaking, trying to be angry and tough but so, so lovesick, "you hear me, vash?"

"loud and clear," he says, his starry eyes suddenly welling with their own tears, smiling fond and soft at your anger that isn't really anger at all. he swallows around it all, "i got a lifetime to make up for it, huh?"

you grip the front of his shirt, hauling him up to you, and he yelps a little, laughing.

"you better, cowboy."

he kisses you hard, kisses you desperate and sorry and aching. his hands, one cool and metal, and the other warm and flesh, all over you suddenly. around you. hitching you tighter to him, mouth warm and soft and stubble scraping up against your lips like it had so long ago.

when you pull away, breathless, he says, "let me start now," and suddenly rolls you onto your back in a field of flowers. the sun sinks in the sky, bruising blue and soft, stars winking to life above you both. the moon's curve is a soft smile, shining down on a lovelorn earth.

"let me show you how sorry i really am, cowgirl."

when he kisses you again, you taste the curve of his smile, and yours fits against it like an old, worn key coming up against it's homelock.

Here to leave some Luke fluff because we need it. Imagine being Luke’s sweetheart and you’re set to be married, and he takes you for a dragon ride? He flys low and carefully while you’re on but doesn’t stop from teasing you. He’s making sure to get you splashed and making you cling onto the rope. It’s just so cute to think about! He says if you are to marry him he should show you of what he and your children will do one day!

Older Luke will also say. “Just giving you experience on how to ride a dragon.”

Oh my god, YES. This absolutely happens if you’re either being courted by him, or you’re his official betrothed. And dragonrides would be something usual if you are to be his beautifully sweet wife. 🤤💓

It might be a bit long of a thought/imagine, but my dear, you have the BEST ideas ever and I couldn’t help but shamelessly ramble around it. And I hope you like it, sweetheart! 🙈💕 (p.s; important note almost at the end JAKDKDOS)

Lucerys is more than keen in getting you to meet his dragonfriend/dragonchild, Arrax, the second you become his sweetheart. You on one hand are eager to see a dragon in person, but on the other hand, you feel like you could melt from nerves at the thought of such grand beast standing in front of you. What if he dislikes you and decides to burn you to ashes right there?

You of course expressed your concerns to Luke, earning from him a soft chuckle and the reassurance that dragons can feel what their riders feel, so Arrax would surely adore you just as much as he did. From there you gathered all your courage, and in a meek manner followed Luke towards Arraxes’ dragonpit.

When you did meet Arrax, Luke always made sure that if you wished to cling by his side, you should be able to do so. The introduction between you and his dragon was slow and carefully, merely to not spook you away, occasionally grabbing your hand in a gentle manner and placing it on the pearly-coloured dragon’s scales.

But as it was expected — and as Lucerys had told you — Arrax took an immediate liking to you, nearly purring like a soft kitten and huffing in delight as you caressed it’s scales, even pushing his hesd deeper into your hand, and reaching closer to smell you. For Lucerys, it was both funny and sweet to see you become stiff, but leisurely get used to it. After all, you were like Arraxes’ mother, if he was to be both his rider and like his father.

It did, however, take you a bit longer in getting fully convinced on going on a dragonride. But after much insistance — and you deep down inside being actually curious on riding a dragon —, you accepted.

And Lucerys immediatly pulled you on top of Arrax, feeling proud that he will manage to take you with him. You will probably be behind of Luke, tightly gripping his body with your arms to secure yourself just in case. Which, the young Velaryon has to fight back a teasy grin from appearing on his rosy lips.

By the time you were already flying on top of Arrax together, Luke made sure to fly as low and slowly as possible. You had never ridden a dragon before obviously, and by the way you firmly wrapped your arms around his waist it was clear you were slightly nervous about it, so naturally he would fly Arrax on a low level and in a slow manner until you became used to the feeling.

And of course... We all know Lucerys is both a timid, yet cocky little Prince, don’t we? So, keeping this in mind, Luke would be flying above the sea, dangerously close to it. Luke would definitely encourage you to take one of your hands out, and glide your fingers across the seawaves while you flew together.

And if you are too nervous to even do so (or perhaps you even would do so, but very quickly and cautiously), Lucerys being the teasing young man he is would probably fly Arrax slightly lower if possible just to get his wings splash slightly around on the sea water everytime he moves them just to get you splashed from water. There were several complaints and also giggles spurring from your lips, which makes his heart melt at the sound of it. And would too giggle along you.

In the middle of the flight, Lucerys would encourage you to place your hands on top of his own where he’s holding the reins. You of course are reluctanct as hell, but you decide to swiftly do as he did, and try to cling to the reins as he guides Arrax around. Expect Luke to endlessly tease you in different manners: whether it’s verbally, or things like getting you splashed with water, making you grip the reins and/or cling firmly from them, or even tease you by mentioning just how much he adores having you warmly clinging to his body for your life.

And MY GOD he would still be so sweet, even when teasing you! Obviously, Luke will remind you that not only these dragonrides will happen more often as you are his one and only beloved future wife, but as well that you will eventually have little dragon babes together, and he simply wants to show you what him and your children will be doing one day.

Besides, dragonrides are more fun with you on them, behind of him; and wants you to get used to them.

Plus, I have to add: my my, the last line killed me absolutely and it’s my fave 100%. I hope not to have misunderstood it because I’m shamelessly a dirty mind! 🙈 So just in case, I will have my dignity shovel in hand to dig a cave and shamefully hide there in case I misunderstood it! 😂

After the ride ends, you will get out of the dragons back with the help of your beloved — both of you giggling, and smiling brightly at how much fun you had together riding on Arrax. His hand would be gently grabbing yours and caressing your soft skin with his thumb, asking you how the vey first ride felt. Of course you had a good time, and you will express that to him immediatly.

You know when I (we, you and I) wrote previously that Luke would definitely tell you that since you are to be his sweet beloved future and motherodf his future dragon babes, you will have to get used to these dragonrides... Right? Well. An Older!Luke would tell you the same, but I can definitely picture him playfully placing several smooches on your flustered cheeks, praising you for how well you did on flying Arrax with him.

I can picture his lips grasping your skin sweetly as he moves upwards, reaching your ear. And would teasingly whisper that he’s just giving you experience on how to properly "ride a dragon". And with that last words, he pulls away to caress your chin with his fingers, and pridefully admire the way he made you blush with that being side.

His cheeky grin wouldn’t take long to appear, as you try to gaze somewhere else while heavily blushing at his words. Older!Luke would certainly be a very loving, yet teasing future Husband. And he adores how you react to him. 💓

Do you know of any fics where the reader reacts to Jace or Luke’s deaths? Like they were betrothed or married and the boys die and y/n is forced to marry someone else and all they can think is “This man isn’t Jace/Luke”. Like the song ‘Thinking of You’ by Katy Perry. Maybe the ghosts of the boys visits them in their dreams because they are so lost without them. Not a poly fic but either Jace or Luke is fine with me.

That’s an interesting concept! Honestly it’s been so long since I’ve sat down to read a HOTD fic as far as I can remember, and the only fics I remember reading with a very similar plot to what you said only are of reader receiving Luke’s death in Storm’s End but that was it.
