         luffy & zoro — the sun & the moon

   this became less of a headcanon in the end and more of my own self-indulgent character analysis, but the first thought that popped into my head when I saw 'moon' in relation to luffy was "oh that's zoro — he's luffy's moon." where luffy is an obvious depiction of the sun, so much so that he wields a sun god's devil fruit, zoro is his opposite in many ways, as the moon is opposite to the sun.

   in literature and folklore, the sun is a symbol of warmth, energy, heroism, joy, life, and an uncontrollable force, all of which are characteristics that luffy embodies ( regardless of how much he doesn't want to be seen as a hero ). in contrast, the moon is frequently seen as a symbol of guidance, wisdom, passivity, calm, and devotion. yes, guidance and wisdom at first glance are not key characteristics that people would use to first describe zoro, but more than once he has acted as an advisor to luffy, providing his own version of guidance and wisdom to his captain when filling his role of trusted first mate.

   that being said, where luffy is full of energy, zoro is usually calm and low energy, and where luffy is the uncontrollable force that does what he wants, fights what he wants when he wants, zoro is content to go with the flow and follow whatever luffy wants to do. and of course, there is no one quite as devoted to luffy as zoro is. 

   frequently in mythology and folklore, the sun and moon are also depicted as deities closely associated with each other in some embodiment of a close relationship. in fact, a common theme includes the sun and moon traveling the world together, but at some point getting split apart ( to explain the concept of night and day ). this is something seen in luffy and zoro's partnership a lot as well, whether due to getting separated during an arc to fight their respective battles, or in the case of their separation after marineford, where we even see the day and night symbolism depicted in their respective locations apart from each other: luffy's presence on daylit amazon lily and zoro in perpetual night time on kuraigana island.

   at the end of the day though, the sun always illuminates the moon. even when separated by the earth between them ( in the case of lunar eclipses ), the sun's light manages to refract onto the moon through the earth's atmosphere. in the same way, even when physically separated, luffy's warmth and light still inspires zoro to fight for him, and the knowledge of zoro's cool reliability in return is a reminder to luffy that he doesn't have to worry about his number two or the others when focusing on his own all-out fights.

          Due to how regularly he has a firm grasp on his Punishers, as well as being an inevitable side effect of the manual labor associated with working on a ship, Killer's palms are usually calloused. He often wears leather gloves, primarily for the added grip strength, but also partially to mitigate this consequence — though that isn't enough to eliminate the effect entirely.

His hands are distinctly broad and square, strong. His fingers are thick; neither notably long and slender, nor particularly short. The bones are prominent under his skin, and his veins are clearly defined.

Just occasionally, his hands do become clammy — particularly when he is wearing his gloves for extended periods of time. Due to how infrequently he touches other people, it's not something anyone would ever really know about.

Despite Killer receiving burn trauma scars across almost all of his left arm, this injury does not extent to the majority of his hand, and instead begins to fade around his wrist, with very little skin being marred on the back of his hand itself.

Killer's arms are naturally incredibly hairy; however, due to the damage inflicted upon his left arm, this is mostly only still noticeable on his right arm, with his left arm now bearing just a thin coating of nearly invisible hairs over his burns. This hairline extends well past his wrists, causing the back of his right hand to be conspicuously covered in blond hair, and his left hand to bear the aforementioned delicate hairs.

His nails are usually cut down as far as possible, and he very rarely bothers to paint them. Having longer nails as well as having paint on them would inconvenience him during cooking, so it isn't something he bothers with unless it's a particularly special event.

As a habit, Killer will instinctively tighten his grip around his Punishers when he's stressed. This instinctual behavior is still present even when his weapons aren't on his person, and he naturally makes a tight fist when he's angry or irritable.

Do you listen to music when you write? If yes, what kind of music?

Yes! All the time yes. I can't write without music honestly. As for what kind of music: It depends on what I am writing.

If it's angst/dramatic related it's usually all kinds of different versions of "Lights of the seven" ; "Rains of Castamere"; "Tragedy of Summerhall" and/or "Fate of the kingdoms". The GoT soundtrack just has a lot of fitting pieces for this topic.

I don't write a lot of fight scenes, but I found that the Witcher 3 Soundtrack is quiet good at getting me in the right headspace for it.

Sometimes it's also just my 90s/early 2000s playlist, consisting of various songs. And when I have time to write my shanties my playlist is mostly songs from the groups: "Ye banished privateers" ; "Abney Park"; "Faun"; "Santiano" and "Blind Guardian"

Usopp couldn't help but laugh, but it wasn't at Nami. No, he'd never laugh at her for something like this. More just amused at her tone and need to ask it at all. The answer was obvious.
