in other news when i was looking at the analysis for that game i learnt that attack is called the wayward queen attack and WHAT. thats such a cool name

so i’m gonna be ranking a few chess openings based on their name (least based to most based) (i won’t rank them based on how good they are because idk shit about theory)

the ICONIC queen’s gambit (for some reason i get nervous when someone plays it) and bird’s opening sounds so cute!! trompowsky and catalan and grünfeld YHOSE ARE SO COOL TOO

look me in the eyes. i love the hippopotamus defense i find it so ridiculous but i’ve never tried it against an actual person also i think the crab name is cute. also toilet variation is hilarious and Grob is Grob and fried liver is an unorthodox name that i’ve heard a lot. the last four have something alluring about their names but i can’t put my finger on it :( love these ones
