Clouds over Chino Hills State Park cast beautiful shadows upon the hills covered in grass and wildflowers! I was so amazed that we found beautiful patches of California Poppies and many other wildflowers during our visit here at Chino Hills State Park on March 20, 2021, in spite of the lack of sufficient rain this past Winter season! I always enjoy watching and photographing the wildflowers and blooms of the Spring season. Here the first picture that I took of the fog at Chino Hills State Park during my second visit here on March 20, 2021 during my Photo Shoot with @aylas_nature_photography, @andilp83, and @blingrunner64! When I saw the fog, I had doubts about the photo shoot. But part of the challenge of being a Landscape Photographer is making the best of the weather conditions you have in front if you. I like how the fog above these Hills gives a moody and mysterious feel to this landscape. And how the Mustard flowers in the foreground brighten up the foggy view. For the First Day of Spring yesterday, March 20, 2021, I enjoyed a fun photo hike up on the Chino Hills Trails with @aylas_nature_photography, @andilp83, and @blingrunner64! Seeing this patch of California Poppies and wildflowers along the trails was the highlight of my visit here. There was a trail next to these poppies, so no Poppies were harmed in taking this self portrait. This Spring 2021 is not a Superbloom year due to not enough rain this past winter season, so to find some patches of gold in these California Poppies was a blessing! Happy First Day of Spring! Red Tailed Hawk guarding his Lizard Lunch, in a behavior known as Mantling. I spotted this Red Tailed Hawk perched on a pine from a distance at English Springs Park in Chino Hills, CA on March 13, 2021. So @aylas_nature_photography and I walked closer to this Red Tailed Hawk, but gave him plenty of social distance by using our telephoto lens. We watched him jump down from the pine tree to pursue his Lizard Lunch. What an amazing moment! We found our Pot of Gold at Chino Hills State Park with this beautiful patch of California Poppies on top of one of the hilltops! This year 2021, due to the lack of sufficient rain during our Winter season, we only saw a few small patches of California Poppies at Chino Hills State Park. I love seeing and photographing wildflowers, so I am thankful that @aylas_nature_photography and I found these! It was in an area inaccessible to hiking, so I used my Nikon D810 and Tamron 150-600mm lens to zoom into this patch of California Poppies, our native State Flower!
