I survived the #choreoproject whew! We had our final @aftashocksd rehearsal of the year last night. Not sure what the future holds for me - I definitely hope to keep dancing next year, but we’ll have a new director & I’m not sure I’ll pass auditions or if my body will hold up. Excited for our last performance tomorrow. I wish I had time to get a #dontbeugly #justgetout shirt made LOL Vegas, baby! "I can't help you if you're not listening." I have been saying this for almost a year now lol it harks back to being asked advice and me giving it but it never being followed. However I wanted to show what freedom felt to me when I dance especially in the style i'm most comfortable with. week 13 constant output choreo project: “Paris in the Rain” by Lauv second iteration

I wouldn’t call this a COMPLETED choreo since it isn’t cleaned enough and I still freestyled some parts but I did take elements from my previous video and incorporated it into the choreography in this video. As the final constant output, I’ve realized that I tried to explore more contemporary dance styles which I always have difficulty with rather than trying to choreograph for more hip-hop/bouncy/funky songs which I’m more familiar and comfortable with.

week 12 constant output choreo project: freestyle to “Paris in the Rain” by Lauv

I really want to use this song for my IDM showcase project which will have a bit of choreography for a video so I decided to just freestyle to this to get a feel of the song and later I’ll detail the moves. I was in a room with other people so it was a bit awkward but there were some things that I liked that I did.

week 10 constant output choreo project: freestyle to “Sunflower” by Post Malone & Swae Lee

I’ve been feeling down in the dumps lately and was listening to this while cooking and it instantly made me feel better so I thought it would be nice if I made a bouncy, feel-good choreo to a song like this. I’m excited to actually clean and create a better choreo since I really like this song

constant output week 3 - choreo project final // my! my! my!

After a week of looking over my freestyle footage and thinking about choreo moves some more, here’s the final product of my choreo for Troye Sivan’s My! My! My! :

It was definitely a challenge to think about more contemporary moves but it was fun to do. I look forwards to next week’s choreo project because I recently discovered some new music that I’d like to choreograph to.

constant output week 2 - freestyle in-progress choreo project // my! my! my!

For this week, I did a couple freestyles to My! My! My! by Troye Sivan to get a feel of the song and of my moves and see what I want to include/remove for the final choreo for next Sunday:

For inspiration for future choreo projects, I recently watched this video by a favorite choreographer of mine named Mina Myoung and she describes her process here: 

After watching this, I realized that in order for me to put forth my best in these choreo projects, I need to spend a lot of time on them and decided to change my completed assignments to a biweekly schedule in order to create my best moves.

constant output 1 - choreo project // woman like me

For my constant output project, I plan to execute self-made choreo projects as I’ve always been interested in dancing but have never been brave enough to create a dance of my own. 

I plan to create a completed choreo to my own satisfaction to my favorite songs that deal with a different array of moods and genres by every other Sunday:

The Sunday in between the biweekly deadline for the completed choreo will be dedicated to touching base on the in-progress work of the choreo, usually done by doing a freestyle to the song that I’m choosing to choreograph to for the biweekly assignment.

I sketched out a few moves that I had in mind whenever I listened to the song and wanted to include in my sketchbook
