my dissertation is gonna be how anakin is a metaphor for a closeted gay man and how vader represents his lifetime repressed in the closet til his gay son luke shows him its okay to be himself
#im not kidding lmaoooo i could write 500 pages on why vader perfectly represents a repressed gay#indoctrination into a faith he desperately wants to fit in#deep love for his mother and vengeance when she is hurt#marries the first girl he ever meets and instantly knocks her up like a repressed high school jock#barely repressed lust for obi wan at all times which in turn engenders hate and self loathing#chip on his shoulder bc everyone distrusts him and sees him as 'suspect'#Always Acting#obi wans tearful i loved you#desperation for an accepting father figure who manipulates him and his insecurities (palps)#and not to mention vader is the most extra bitter depressed slave to appearances#one day im going to publish a 500 page book about this to make straight men mad#anakin skywalker#grew up in a cultural 'desert' and a slave to society#chosen one a la jesus (who could also be argued to be gay)#obsession w a mentor who is also a more neatly repressed queer man (obi wan)#befriends internet friends (r2 and threepio) bc he cant relate to anyone#dead serious about it
