We had such a wonderful three days celebrating the holidays with so many dear friends! After a year with no events due to Covid, having our annual holiday parties back (with safety precautions in place of course) was even more fun this year! Many special guests joined us including Santa Claus himself, but it was the highlight of our year meeting Rebecca, the Animal Control Officer who saved the lives of Po and Percival in 2016. She drove all the way from Washington to be here, and seeing her reunite with Percival and meet people whose lives were touched by Po was incredible. A great BIG thank you to all of our volunteers who made this weekend possible: @dianapope238 @rachaelstpeter @airric6 @nosh.on.plants @vickysjol @michellegillwarren @wisheswithsanta and the Kaelins, to @clelandvalerie who made salads and desserts, @tinlantern who made the holiday punch, @bowie1 who donated flowers, @bitchinsauce and @miyokoschinner who donated amazing products for our plant-based charcuterie boards, and @boglevineyards who donated two wine tasting experiences to our silent auction. And last but not least, thank you to all of you who joined us, dressed up, competed to make the best gingerbread house, fed Bob the reindonkey carrots, and who support our work on behalf of animals all year-round. Thank you to everyone who attended our two magical nights of Christmas at Blackberry Creek! Our two favorite parts of the evenings were when our KEEPERS young adults spoke to the group about how the sanctuary has impacted them and seeing Duncan lay as close as he could to the gate that’s right by the greenhouse where everyone was eating Beyond Burger Shepherd’s Pie. It was a glimpse into the world we hope for. A world where everyone loves one another.
