Oscar is HOME!!! This precious little muffin arrived home from UC Davis yesterday after several weeks in the hospital to have a large amount of cloacal stones removed. He’s still not out of the woods yet as he needs to pass all the feces that was backed up in his GI tract due to the stone obstruction, but they sent him home because there wasn’t anything they were doing in the hospital that we couldn’t do here at home. They are concerned his intestines could rupture if he can’t get the fecal material out on his own, but surgery is even riskier so this is the best plan. At home he’s getting antibiotic injections, fluids and stool softeners through his esophageal feeding tube, and warm water soaks. He goes back for a recheck st the hospital next week.
