While walking the streets of Toontown, one might encounter a sullen green fox cleaning up litter, or planting something, or complaining about the state of the world. They blow off greetings and attempts to start conversation, but will sometimes do favors asked of them. Nobody's quite sure whether they're quick to anger, or always angry.

This leaf-covered toon's name is Cilantro, and they moved to Toontown with their twin, Basil, quite recently. The pair hail from a city called Cartridge, a former toon settlement taken over by cogs generations before the two were born. According to their twin, Cilantro's sour disposition is nothing new, and that they've been this way since childhood.

Some would consider Cilantro to be a neutral figure in the war between toons and cogs, but they themselves will tell you they're on the side of their own species, despite how they hate the way toons don't take anything seriously. Cilantro doesn't exactly fight cogs, because they've never been able to get the hang of gags, but they won't hesitate to whack one over the head with the claw they pick up trash with. Cilantro is a passionate environmentalist; this is where most of their disdain for cogs stems from. (The rest being from their upbringing in Cartridge.)

Their social circle is small, only including Basil, that garbage-dwelling cat from Central, and a mysterious figure whom Cilantro never talks about. Apparently, they spend some of their evenings cleaning beaches with this so called new friend of theirs, but their sister suspects this person to be entirely made up. Either way, Cilantro greatly values the few people they do care about, and they are one of the few things that can elicit a genuine smile from the usually grouchy toon.

Lately, however, Cilantro's found themselves growing apart from Basil, as they've had less and less time to spend together ever since Basil took up fighting with the resistance. Cilantro loves their twin dearly, even when relegated to living in their shadow.
