A Simple Trick || Chen & Luna
Jongdae hadn't been at the circus for very long, but he had caught on to the schedules of its inhabitants. He'd begun to notice their quirks and habits, who was who, who did what, etc. It was a bit hard to keep track, considering the number of people, but some did manage to stick out.
Especially the girl wandering around the circus grounds. Chen remembers her well. The Animal Girl. She could mimic voices and her act was based on that. She was interesting, for sure. Quite pretty too, in his opinion. But that was besides the point.
Her name was Luna, if he was correct. She had a habit of having her head in the clouds and her nose stuck in a book. He noticed she seemed a bit withdrawn when she wasn't performing, and didn't interact a whole lot.
Chen was bored, though, and no one else was around. So he decided he'd have a little fun with the girl to pass the time.
He didn't have a particular joke or prank in mind, so when he snuck up behind the girl, he couldn't help but panic a bit.
So he did what was on his mind, quickly throwing his arm over her shoulder and snatching her book, quickly hiding it behind his back. A sly smile spread over his lips.
"What brings you near the Mauvelous tent?" He tilted his head, voice cheeky and full of amusement. "You don't normally stray very far." He watched her face contort from concentration to shock, a chuckle leaving him. "What's the matter, cat got your tongue?"

Lost and Found || Hyuna & Luna
Hyuna stretched out her arms high over her head, extending her fingers to the sky. It was a gentle and cool night, a quiet one that seemed out of place considering the commotion that had been going on before. She ruffled the back of her head, letting long strands of brown, wavy hair flow along with the breeze. She let out another sigh of satisfaction as she walked through the dark woods.
She had been thinking a lot lately. A lot more than usual. She usually didn't like to get lost in her thoughts, since they usually brought pain along with them. Every step she took on the dirt road seemed to take her a little further into her memories. She frowned slightly, a little discontent with her current status. She wasn't the type to overthink things and reminisce, but with the lack of work in the last few days, her personality had changed ever so slightly.
Painful things began to resurface in her head. Images of her parents, her adoptive mother, everyone she encountered - it was all coming back to her. The experience of using her power against her parents and running away from them solidified once again in her conscience. A million questions began stemming off the memory of when she ran from her parents in the hospital out to the streets. Was her father doing better? Had they forgotten her? Was her mother still alive?
Her train of thought came to an abrupt stop when she saw someone wandering along the path in front of her. She had ventured deep into the woods, and had not been expecting to see anyone else there. She raised and eyebrow and called out to the other female in a gentle voice. While she couldn't recognize her immediately, considering the time and location, it was probably another circus member.
"Hey. What are you doing out here?"

Bird Calls || Chunji & Luna
Chanhee’s power seemed so simple when stated out loud: He could turn into other people. Physical mimicry wasn’t exactly something horrifically complex like a lot of the other powers at the Cirque; it was exactly what it sounded like. But in reality, there was so much more to it than just him becoming someone else. He didn’t gain their memories or personality, and the majority of his changes weren’t automatic –he had to consciously think ‘okay the lips need to be longer, that tooth needs to be chipped.’ It took a lot of concentration and attention to detail that likely would have fucked him over if with his accuracy.
One of the many “details” that actually took some tweaking to get right was the voice, and Chunji often had to guess completely at it by the person’s appearance. It wasn’t something that just magically slid into place, most of the time –and it wasn’t like he could easily see down someone’s throat to make out the shape of their vocal cords. That was both weird and kind of gross. Normally he shaped them along with the throat and hoped they came out right, but voices could often be deceiving. The best bet for him was usually to listen to the actual person speaking –a few words could make a world of difference to a would-be disaster.
Now he wasn’t vain, even though his power likely made him appear as such, and he knew he had a lot of room for improvement with his power, especially in that area. Therefore when he heard that someone had come to the Cirque that could manipulate their voices to form any type of sound, he knew that younger or older, he could learn an awful lot from this person. The more one had to do, the harder it was to specialize. But with a power that (as awful as it sounded) basic, she likely was very good with her power, unless she had just discovered it. He kept thinking ‘she’ because all of the buzz was about a ‘she’ –and apparently a very pretty one at that. That perked him up a bit and only encouraged his going to find her.
Thank god that unlike the cottages that the tents were pretty easy to maneuver about around for tracking people down. On the home island when he wanted to find someone, it meant going to every single house to see if it was inhabited and if someone even knew where the person was. And if they didn’t, they could have wandered anywhere on the island. In the tents, however, walking around usually found him what he needed, and the tents were much easier to locate than individual houses that basically all looked the same, give or take a few different total room numbers.
Simply by asking around, he found out about the topaz tent without causing too much fuss. He liked to think that no one bothered with his inquiries about the new girl because he was a trustworthy guy and they knew he wouldn’t be up to anything weird. Those kinds of thoughts had his heart glowing and he certainly really hoped that they were the case.
When he reached the tent, he ruffled the entrance flap a bit in warning, waited about thirty seconds, then poked his head in, calling lightly, “Is there a Luna in here?” His questions had also garnered her a name, and a quite pretty one at that.
