Not sure if appropriate but too mad to care. Fuck SA Pathology. My girlfriend is sick and we are both disabled but can walk (she only short distances) and unable to drive. She needs a pcr test because RATs don't work on her, she's part of the 20% that don't work. She called to see if SA Pathology would have a domicile visit for a test. The lady on the phone kept talking over her and telling her to just walk to the nearest site. Domicile visits are for people who cannot walk at all. The attitude was disgusting.

That's fucking crazy because literally last week Clinpath sent a pathologist to my home to get my bloods?? I'm in no way physically disabled, just laden with small children and time poor. I didn't even ask for it, they offered it. Try Clinpath!

day 132-148: i left a gap bc a thing happened that i'm not sure how to talk about On Here but it wasn't good and i still don't know how to process it and if you know me in some way you're welcome to ask about it but i don't want to post about it. so i guess this is a lil book mark for that. the rest of soft tissue surgery remained a weird time and i scrubbed into 1 actual surgery. and i feel not great about my small animal nursing skills. anyway, no more purely surgical rotations for me! i think i can get through one without spiralling but idk man, whatta slog it's been to get to this point, and for what. i can't even spay anything solo. anyway i'm on radiology now which is a lovely time and almost too lovely, half of the days are just working through predetermined cases in a quiet dark room. I wish we had the residents talking us through more stuff idk. also been shadowing with clinpath to get a letter and i remember why i don't do this more, i kinda feel ignored until somehow i get asked the one question i don't know. that's fine. also cornell's clin path program director emailed me inviting me to apply and like that rips and it was a full day of being elated and now i'm just feeling the Weight: what if i don't like this enough, what if cornells not actually a good fit, what if i lose all my clinical and cow specific skills, am i really ready to do 3 more years of training and move away from my friends and family and house again, what am i even doing here, why do i always feel like a poorly put together puzzle of a person, why can't things be easy, etcetera etcetera

day 34: did a good amount of clinpath self study, met with the faculty who are all lovely, now's the time to worry about having said something stupid/misinterpretable/etc etc. i know it's just how i am and i'm tryin not to listen to that voice. also slide rounds was great, i love being good at something and getting to show off a little, i hope i wasn't cocky about it, the other folks were really nice. also AML in a pig??? wild. i love to learn abt a funky disease in an uncommon species.

still unsure of where i wanna go post vet school and this just makes it harder but that's just because this seems cool. and i can go practice and apply later they said that's not a bad thing.

Anyway ithaca has nightmare intersections and hills but is also really beautiful and having dan here has been a goddamn godsend. we do our little jobs, go get fun foods together, poke around town, im really enjoying it. also cornell ice cream is really good
