I made a 2nd redesign to my Project chrysalis/Mythic AU, I'm still thinking to make something to have an asymmetric feel to it.

But! Mythic AU Yumi has new eye coloring now! Partially Inspired by Oshi no ko and this manga:

The clothing will be changed to a kimono with asymmetrical sleeves, so this isn't her finalized design... yet.

Butterfly Yumi in my Mythic AU (Also known as Project Chrysalis)

There are a few minor changes of this design actually... Mostly the motif on her red side of the kimono, the bracelet, the tasseled rope on her sash, and last but not least, the antenna hair. Plus I'm experimenting with the glitter pens on her kimono and wings.

Species is based of a Peacock swallowtail butterfly (Papilio blumei)

-Shinobu Kocho and Kanao Tsuyuri from Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer. These two are my favorite characters from that anime btw.

-There are some fanmade Butterfly miraculous artwork from Miraculous Ladybug. Also it's just a coincidence that there are a few of fanmade Butterfly Miraculous holders named "Chrysalis" lmao

Code July Day 4: AU

Actually I want to remake my Butterfly and Moth Yumi (from Mythic AU/Project Chrysalis) but I want to draw my oni design of her so bad.

Oni Yumi doesn't have a proper AU yet. But I can imagine her being a guardian that saves her trapped friends in Lyoko! 👹🪭

Oni in Japanese folklore can be either evil (monsters that eat humans), or good (being benevolent guardians/protectors). In her oni version, Yumi is spunky and confident, but she is ruthless and unforgiving when she snapped.

Moth Yumi (Mythic AU)'s design and concept under the cut (because I haven't posted it here):

Here's the moth Yumi design, I made this last year. The moth version is the X.A.N.A. counterpart of her butterfly mode.

I might remake this bc the motifs are too crowded. The moth used here is a well-known moth species, which is the Luna moth/American moon moth (Actias luna). Her design combines wa-lolita and EGL (elegant gothic lolita) fashion.

I uploaded this on Instagram at that time.

It's completely opposite with her butterfly mode, that uses an obscure butterfly species, the peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei )

Moth Yumi (2023 ver!) This is the X.A.N.A-fied version of Yumi in my Project Chrysalis/Mythic AU.

Species based on a female Luna moth (Actias luna)

Anyway, I'm currently redesigning her butterfly version too, but my red markers are almost ran out of ink, so that one is still a WIP (under the cut)

The butterfly version is based of a Peacock/Green swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

Bonus: The fact that this AMV influenced me to make an AU of Butterfly Yumi lmao. Initially the name was "Butterfly and Samurai" but I remade it, changed some things, and named it "Project Chrysalis", part of Mythic AU.

The changes I apply to the remake version is, both Butterfly and Moth Yumi don't use the hairclip anymore, more proportional eyes (this is a major improvement for me tbh), Butterfly Yumi's bracelet look more like a swallowtail butterfly, the rope thingy on her sash has tassels (in her butterfly mode), and Moth Yumi's X.A.N.A. eyes have black outlines instead of white.

Code July Day 8: AU 🦋

Project Chrysalis (Formerly "Butterfly and Samurai") is a part of an untitled Code Lyoko AU which will be divided into four parts, focusing on each Lyoko Warriors' personality and these upgrades!

This is the oldest AU I ever made (in 2014). The original draft is on my broken old phone so... yeah.

This butterfly Yumi design is based of an irl butterfly species, which is a peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

Butterfly Yumi doesn't have lots of personality changes. But, she will get flustered when someone touched or pats her antenna hair. She won't like it.

🦋 Project Chrysalis, the Colorful Butterfly 🦋

Influenced by the song "Butterfly" by smile.dk and the remix by Kors k feat. Starbitz in Dancerush stardom, this Yumi got a butterfly-themed upgrade with some extra abilities like illusion and summoning butterflies for distraction. The species she's based on is a peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

She's still keeping her seriousness in fighting, but she is easily flustered when someone pets her antenna hair. (Yep, the antennae is actually her hair). The bracelet is an transformation item. Project Chrysalis is a part of Mythic / Mystical Upgrades AU that will be into 4 parts, each part focusing on Ulrich, Yumi, Odd and Aelita.

🦊 Japanese Fantasy, the Extroverted Fox Maiden 🦊

Before you ask, this is the official rebranding of the iroha uta AU bc I really suck at romance. The old color scheme has too much orange, so I made her to be more like a miko (shrine maiden) and Aelita's helper. So, no geisha makeup, she still does wear her red eyeshadow/eyeliner tho!

Fox Yumi has fire controlling abilities, in the form of fireballs! sadly she can't turn into an actual fox. She can also change her eye color into red whenever she has any strong emotions (mostly being agitated)

This new Lyoko outfit is only worn in the new Japanese sector, named Yamato sector!

👹 Oni Yumi, the Spunky Demon and Guardian 👹

I already posted her fixed design in my previous codejuly entry.

She's part of an unnamed AU, but here are some quirks of her. She is loosely based of one of my fav Hololive Vtubers, Nakiri Ayame. Her katana blade is her secondary weapon, and when she draws her blade, she also can manipulate fire with her katana. Aside from it, she can also create flowers... with toxic pollen. Her fans can also spread the pollen in a greater range.

The red flower underneath her eye and on her left shoulder are curse marks btw. Oni!Yumi always emphasize that those aren't tattoos, those are legit, actual curse marks. Her anger is one of her main flaws. She can change her eye color to hazel when she's really enraged, but as for now, I haven't drawn her "hazel eyes" mode. Personality wise, she's spunky, but can be ruthless and unapologetic when she finally snapped.

🌸 Upgraded AU, the Elegant yet Cool Onna-Musha 🌸

P.S. Onna musha is another term of onna bugeisha, which means "woman martial artist". It is also sort of a wordplay, bc in season 1-3 Yumi's Lyoko form is a traditional geisha.

Tbh she has a lot of changes. Her initial upgraded design was more Chinese-looking, not Japanese (bc my dumbass brain thought that using halloweencostumes.com was a good idea for costume design), so I changed it entirely to be a mix of original design and garage kids fused together. Oh, she also wears black fingerless gloves, a breastplate, a Japanese-styled shoulder guard/pad, and bandages on her left arm. No full body design, but i might change her boots a bit.

I prefer using this route for Yumi in my post-S3 AU, and I already hate S4 for making Yumi's Lyoko form look more like a bunnygirl, so... welp. This AU Yumi doesn't have changes personality-wise to the normal Yumi, but probably... I'll change bits of it gradually. Her secondary weapon will be a naginata!

🐱 Neko Yumi, The Cutest Virtualization Bug Ever 🐱

Basically it's season 1-3 Yumi with cat ears and tail because of a "DNA fusion" with her adopted pet cat. I might make a nekomata variety of this, but let's see.

This literally is just a random idea bc I love kemonomimi. The ears, bell and tail color is based of my Twitter friend's pet cat, they named it Yumi too 🐱 (Bc their twitter account is privated, here's the cat)

😈 Onryo Empress, the Seductive yet Destructive Demon-Ghost 😈

AU by EpsilonTarantula (AO3) (FFN)

People been saying she looks like Nezuko or any other Kimetsu no Yaiba character, but this design is more influenced by the geisha in identity V.

According to Epsilon, Onryo Empress Yumi is not awkward at all and is a superb seductress. Which, while great for Ulrich, is not great for everyone else. One look at the Onryo Empress and you understand that this is a true queen of darkness.

💀 X.A.N.A.-Yumi, Simple But Intimidating 💀

X.A.N.A.-Yumi is personally my most favorite design of all these AU Yumis I ever created. She is basically a fusion between oiran, geisha and kunoichi. Sorry for the messy motifs of her kimono whatsoever, those are supposed to be lilies.

Time to revamp this AU again from the ashes. Upgraded Yumi finally got a proper redesign rn. Noice.

A modified kimono with Japanese-styled shoulder guards/pads, fingerless gloves and a breastplate? Count me in! Btw, this design is loosely based from the Revue Starlight game. A mix of Tamao and Fumi's costumes, with some changes, to be exact.

For the AU thingy, 3 down, 3 to go, and there is one free slot.

I lowkey want to put IWRY!Yumi in this list but her costume is SO DETAILED so it's tentative atm. Onryo Empress is also kinda tentative because I'm still having an artblock when it comes to designing her outfit.

P.S. my X.A.N.A Yumi design will be planned to be a part of Code Lyoko Upgraded AU so far. This is my most fav design and nothing can top her.

Her design was loosely based of a mix between oiran (Japanese courtesan), geisha, and kunoichi.

Hey, Long time no see, here are some of my Code Lyoko fanarts this month so far:

First of all, here are 2 Yumis, the first one is bunnygirl version of her s4 outfit because her outfit LEGIT looks like a bunnygirl costume and I CAN'T UNSEE IT.

The second pict is just a normal fanart of s1-3 Yumi with a smol butterfly flying around her hand.

2022, Year of the tiger.🐯 Late New Year's fanart featuring our resident catboy that I haven't drawn for a long time (due to marker ink reasons!) Odd is so cute but this character legit made my purple markers suffer.

I also revamped Aelita in my old Code Lyoko Upgraded AU. Also, Yumi's Lyoko design will be changed into a kimono with a breastplate, because imo she would look so cool in that, and I wanted to study how those stuff work. The remaining 3 will stay the same! (Upgraded AU link here:

Upgraded AU has a clear timeline now. It took place in post-S3 timeline after William got possessed by X.A.N.A. So, William is still an ally of this malevolent artificial intelligence. Noice.

Last but not least, "Project Chrysalis" Yumi. This is part of a new AU/Project named "Individual Upgrade project" (tentative). Also her antenna hair is now fixed to look like actual butterfly antennae xD

There is also a 6 AU challenge I'm currently working on using the season 1-3 design of Yumi, however due to not enough redesigns, I put my 3 AUs (Upgraded, Japanese Fantasy, and Individual Upgrade Project/Project Chrysalis) BECAUSE I CAN. Also I'm still having trouble with finding references due to weird fetish stuff that always appear wtf

Iroha Uta story is also officially terminated, and rebranding into this Japanese Fantasy AU because romance isn't really my thing anymore after coming out as an aroace in 2017. Plus, aside from Oddlita and Ulumi scenes, I want to add OddYumi bonding (in Japanese Fantasy AU, Odd could transform into an actual nekomata, but Yumi, despite being a kitsune, she couldn't transform into a fox, instead she has a fox spirit familiar that she can summon freely. Basically, their flaws contradict with each other.).

The only other S1-3 Yumi redesign is from aileenroseven's A World Without Danger AU, so there's 2 remaining free slots left. If y'all have a s1-3 Yumi redesign, feel free to tag/mention me!
