ANOTHER YEAR ANOTHER CODEJULY CALENDAR!!!!!

Hey everyone who’s ready for codejuly!!!! The reason I made this was to make the tag more active again after getting inspired with the Danny Phantom’s phanniemay calendar~ (sorry for the lateness i’m a certified mess™️✨)

FAQ

I don’t have time to do this in July?/Can I post it on another day?

Even though the calendar is for July, you don’t have to do them all in July. You can do them on whatever day seem best for you.

I don’t get the theme for some of these days?

You can go ask me on my ask box if you are confused on a specific day. (btw each word is just an idea, so as long as you come up with something it doesn’t matter how far you stray from the literal meaning of the word)

Is this a drawing thing only?

No, you can do anything including fanfic, AMV, cosplay, 8tracks, and etc… the choice is yours

Do I have to do all the themes?

Nope, it’s your choice on what you want to do. If you don’t feel inspired by some you can skip them. (and if you get an idea later you can submit it late)

(But there is a special prize where I will give everyone who completes all the prompts a lil doodle of a character of their choice~ just make sure to let me know if you complete them all)  ****ALSO I believe there was one person who completed the 2021 calendar last year if that’s you you can still message me for your character doodle****

Aelita, Princess of Lyoko.

Code July Day 3: Princess.

Using Aelita for the prompt “Princess” might have been obvious, but the more I thought about it, I realized I wanted to do a kind of “Princess Transformation Sequence” like I’ve seen in almost every work with a magical princess character. I also thought I would add a musical element both due to the ethereal chanting she did when using her Creativity, as well as her interest in music.

I wanted to have her partway through the transformation rather than completely done, since the transformation sequence strikes me as something that’s about the process as much if not more than the results. I didn’t quite get the inside of the tower the way I wanted, but since my main focus was getting Aelita’s magic princess transformation dress, I opted not to put too much into it. Though I may come back to it later.

Code July Day 3: Princess

Geishas ain't princesses though, but Yumi's Garage Kids form in Xanadu looks even more elegant with those longer sleeves and the flowing ribbons.

Anyways, sorry if her sleeves turned out fail...

Code July Day 30: Memories

What better way to remember the show than a quick look through it's run?

(AKA: A project that I probably put way more time into than I should given what it is. Blame my novice level editing abilities)

The Greatest Lyoko Warrior: Kiwi

So today’s Code July prompt was Alternate Lyoko Warriors. I considered doing this one seriously and making a drawing of someone like Sissi or Laura as a Lyoko Warrior, but the idea of Kiwi being virtualized was a bit too amusing to pass up. I made him giant because tiny dogs always think they’re giant. Although I contemplated giving him a giant laser cannon, in the end I went with the transport box because a lot of what he does in the series is fetch people or items, so it’s more likely he’d be thinking about that than a laser cannon.

Since Kiwi is giant on Lyoko, he has a lot of hit points and can’t be grabbed by the Schyphozoa, but he can’t enter the towers either. However, he can carry the main Lyoko Warriors by having them ride in his transport box if he needs to. Part of me also thinks it would be funny if Kiwi could just straight up swim in the Digital Sea, so I’m giving him that power, too.

CodeJuly22 Day 4: Carnival (Kind of?)

Someone on reddit also did the cosplay theme for the carnival prompt, and it is interesting; so here, Yumi and Odd cosplaying as Hololive Vtubers.

Ayame is one of my fav Hololive vtubers, but her outfit is really painful to draw, so the Yumi one is just bust-up. sorry

Code July Day 8: AU 🦋

Project Chrysalis (Formerly "Butterfly and Samurai") is a part of an untitled Code Lyoko AU which will be divided into four parts, focusing on each Lyoko Warriors' personality and these upgrades!

This is the oldest AU I ever made (in 2014). The original draft is on my broken old phone so... yeah.

This butterfly Yumi design is based of an irl butterfly species, which is a peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

Butterfly Yumi doesn't have lots of personality changes. But, she will get flustered when someone touched or pats her antenna hair. She won't like it.

🦊: Japanese Fantasy (Kitsune Miko Yumi)

🌸: Onna-Musha Yumi (Upgraded/Post-S3)

🐱: Neko Yumi (Basically a virtualization error which Yumi got a DNA fusion with her adopted pet cat)

😈: Onryo Empress Yumi (Epsilon Tarantula's Garage Kids)

💀: X.A.N.A Yumi

🦋 Project Chrysalis, the Colorful Butterfly 🦋

Influenced by the song "Butterfly" by smile.dk and the remix by Kors k feat. Starbitz in Dancerush stardom, this Yumi got a butterfly-themed upgrade with some extra abilities like illusion and summoning butterflies for distraction. The species she's based on is a peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

She's still keeping her seriousness in fighting, but she is easily flustered when someone pets her antenna hair. (Yep, the antennae is actually her hair). The bracelet is an transformation item. Project Chrysalis is a part of Mythic / Mystical Upgrades AU that will be into 4 parts, each part focusing on Ulrich, Yumi, Odd and Aelita.

🦊 Japanese Fantasy, the Extroverted Fox Maiden 🦊

Before you ask, this is the official rebranding of the iroha uta AU bc I really suck at romance. The old color scheme has too much orange, so I made her to be more like a miko (shrine maiden) and Aelita's helper. So, no geisha makeup, she still does wear her red eyeshadow/eyeliner tho!

Fox Yumi has fire controlling abilities, in the form of fireballs! sadly she can't turn into an actual fox. She can also change her eye color into red whenever she has any strong emotions (mostly being agitated)

This new Lyoko outfit is only worn in the new Japanese sector, named Yamato sector!

👹 Oni Yumi, the Spunky Demon and Guardian 👹

I already posted her fixed design in my previous codejuly entry.

She's part of an unnamed AU, but here are some quirks of her. She is loosely based of one of my fav Hololive Vtubers, Nakiri Ayame. Her katana blade is her secondary weapon, and when she draws her blade, she also can manipulate fire with her katana. Aside from it, she can also create flowers... with toxic pollen. Her fans can also spread the pollen in a greater range.

The red flower underneath her eye and on her left shoulder are curse marks btw. Oni!Yumi always emphasize that those aren't tattoos, those are legit, actual curse marks. Her anger is one of her main flaws. She can change her eye color to hazel when she's really enraged, but as for now, I haven't drawn her "hazel eyes" mode. Personality wise, she's spunky, but can be ruthless and unapologetic when she finally snapped.

🌸 Upgraded AU, the Elegant yet Cool Onna-Musha 🌸

P.S. Onna musha is another term of onna bugeisha, which means "woman martial artist". It is also sort of a wordplay, bc in season 1-3 Yumi's Lyoko form is a traditional geisha.

Tbh she has a lot of changes. Her initial upgraded design was more Chinese-looking, not Japanese (bc my dumbass brain thought that using halloweencostumes.com was a good idea for costume design), so I changed it entirely to be a mix of original design and garage kids fused together. Oh, she also wears black fingerless gloves, a breastplate, a Japanese-styled shoulder guard/pad, and bandages on her left arm. No full body design, but i might change her boots a bit.

I prefer using this route for Yumi in my post-S3 AU, and I already hate S4 for making Yumi's Lyoko form look more like a bunnygirl, so... welp. This AU Yumi doesn't have changes personality-wise to the normal Yumi, but probably... I'll change bits of it gradually. Her secondary weapon will be a naginata!

🐱 Neko Yumi, The Cutest Virtualization Bug Ever 🐱

Basically it's season 1-3 Yumi with cat ears and tail because of a "DNA fusion" with her adopted pet cat. I might make a nekomata variety of this, but let's see.

This literally is just a random idea bc I love kemonomimi. The ears, bell and tail color is based of my Twitter friend's pet cat, they named it Yumi too 🐱 (Bc their twitter account is privated, here's the cat)

😈 Onryo Empress, the Seductive yet Destructive Demon-Ghost 😈

AU by EpsilonTarantula (AO3) (FFN)

People been saying she looks like Nezuko or any other Kimetsu no Yaiba character, but this design is more influenced by the geisha in identity V.

According to Epsilon, Onryo Empress Yumi is not awkward at all and is a superb seductress. Which, while great for Ulrich, is not great for everyone else. One look at the Onryo Empress and you understand that this is a true queen of darkness.

💀 X.A.N.A.-Yumi, Simple But Intimidating 💀

X.A.N.A.-Yumi is personally my most favorite design of all these AU Yumis I ever created. She is basically a fusion between oiran, geisha and kunoichi. Sorry for the messy motifs of her kimono whatsoever, those are supposed to be lilies.

Code July 2022 Day 5: Insecurities

Author's note: Before we start, This is my first time writing a quick drabble of a Code Lyoko fanfic here. Sorry for the bad grammar (and idk how to describe clothes in detail), English is my second language.

On the other hand, I have the mood to write YumiLita bc I need serotonin boost. Hope you like it.

A Halloween Party was held at Kadic. Yumi and Aelita planned to wear matching costumes, from the fairytale "Little Red Riding Hood". Aelita dressed up as red riding hood, wearing a white dress with petticoats, white stockings, a pair of black flat shoes, along with a red hooded cape. Yumi, on the other hand is a wolf, wearing wolf ears headband, a bell choker, a vest, a sleeveless top, a pair of paw gloves, a pair of hot pants, a pair of black, medium-heeled boots; and last but not least, a fluffy wolf tail which has a red ribbon on its base. She also tied up her hair in her Lyoko half-ponytail hairstyle, covering her human ears.

After wearing the costumes, and looking at her surroundings in her room, Yumi feel a bit embarassed bc she haven't worn an animal costume before. She is also afraid if the principal's daughter, Sissi, will talk shit about her.

Aelita gently petted her head and noticed that she looked so cute dressing up as a wolf. "You know, Odd choose this idea for both of us, and I bet you look extremely cute in this outfit. Especially the paws, they're adorable!"

"Hehe, thanks, but... I'm afraid Sissi and her 2 minions will bully me just bc I'm dressed as a wolf.", Yumi answered and held her wolf ears with her paws.

Aelita hugged Yumi to calm her down. "It's ok. You can ignore whatever Sissi said, because she often let you down.", she replied while petting her head once more.

"If you're not feeling confident with this... let's hold hands together, then.", said Aelita. Yumi immediately agreed, then they hold hands. They immediately went out from Aelita's room, to meet the others.

Aelita's school uniform here is loosely based of my senior high school uniform btw. I love uniforms with comfy, sweater-like vests and plaided skirts!
