Henriette Morel (1883-1956, French)

Born in a large family (four girls and a boy), Henriette followed the lessons of Jean-Louis Loubet and Claude Lucien Barriot, painters from Lyon. The girls were not admitted to the Ecole des Beaux- Arts until 1907. Henriette became the muse, the model, then, perhaps, the mistress of the painter Pierre Combet-Descombes with whom she shared the life of a painter. An independent and modern woman, she exhibited in 1903 at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, then at the Salon d'Automne in the same city and at the Salon Sud-Est. Several paintings are purchased by the State, others by the city of Lyon. She was a teacher appreciated by her students, some of whom became known painters, notably Hélène Mourriquand. She practices pastel, watercolor and oil painting, she paints nudes, landscapes and portraits.

(The quote comes from a French novel telling the incestuous attraction between the austrian poet Georg Trakl and his younger sister, and it's called "Blesse, Ronce noire" ("Hurt, Black Thorn"), a little treasure of literature. It's pure poetry and source of inspiration for who ships Zucest !)

Henriette Morel (1883-1953) pintora francesa.

Nació en Villeurbanne en una familia numerosa (cuatro niñas y un niño).

Henriette Morel siguió las lecciones de Jean-Louis Loubet, Claudius Barriot y Vivien, pintores lioneses. Las niñas sólo fueron admitidas en la Escuela de Bellas Artes hasta 1907.

Se formó en la Escuela Nacional Superior de Bellas Artes de Lyon.

Henriette Morel se convirtió en musa, modelo y luego, quizás, en amante del pintor Pierre Combet-Descombes, con quien compartió la vida de pintor.

Mujer independiente y moderna, expuso en 1903 en el Salón de Bellas Artes de Lyon, luego en el Salón de Otoño de la misma ciudad y en el Salón Sud-Est.

Varios cuadros fueron adquiridos por el Estado y otros por la ciudad de Lyon.

Fue una profesora apreciada por sus alumnos, algunos de los cuales se convirtieron en pintores conocidos, en particular Hélène Mourriquand.

Practicó la pintura al pastel, acuarela y óleo, pintó desnudos, paisajes y retratos.

Formaban parte de su círculo de amigos los fotógrafos Théodore Blanc (1898-1985) y Antoine Demilly (1894-1964).

Su último taller estuvo situado en el número 1 de la rue Mazard de Lyon.

Tiene obras en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Lyon y en el Museo Paul-Dini en Villefranche-sur-Saône.

Murió en Villeurbanne.

Combe T. - Le petit Pacha: Une courte nouvelle de T. Combe, écrite au début du vingtième siècle, avec un petit garçon, des fillettes et des taches ménagères... Agréable à lire, divertissant et … encore d’actualité, quelquefois. Dans cette nouvelle, T. Combe s'interroge sur la société et les usages des hommes et femmes dans le milieu ouvrier jurassien. Des notations vivantes qui permettent de se représenter la vie quotidienne ouvrière de ce début de siècle. Adèle Huguenin est née au Locle, en 1856, dans une famille d’horlogers. Ceux-ci sont ruinés par la crise de 1870 et Adèle doit travailler. Elle devient institutrice à 16 ans. Mais le salaire d’une institutrice est fixé par la loi au tiers de celui d’un instituteur. C’est pour compléter son revenu qu’elle se mettra à écrire à 21 ans, avec succès sous le pseudonyme de T. Combe. À 25 ans, elle part à Londres où réside une amie de jeunesse et travaille comme institutrice dans deux familles : une première expérience malheureuse, puis une seconde plus heureuse. Après avoir vécu à Paris, Adèle, lorsqu’elle rentre chez elle en 1887, vivra avec des parents malades qui dépendent financièrement de leurs deux filles. Adèle sera une écrivaine et conférencière renommée, chrétienne, féministe, luttant contre l’alcoolisme. Elle animera la revue L'Union des femmes pour le bien dont est issue la présente nouvelle (numéro 15, vers 1900). Elle adhérera, à 57 ans, au parti socialiste (favorable au suffrage féminin).
