Now that social networking is such a huge part of our lives (and thus culture), shouldn’t we ensure that we are spelling correctly? 

It is interesting, because spoken word is not as analyzed, in regards to how the speaker may spell the word they are speaking. But when we post things actually on our social networks, it shows more in regards to how we spell things.

The Global Impact of Social Media

Let me tell you, having been in the most indigenous areas of East and West Africa, one would be amazed at the level of social media use even in areas without running water. Pay per minute phones and wifi shacks set up. Teenagers without shoes begging for your Facebook contact info to share their world with you after you leave their marketstand. It’s eye opening.

The Screen Age - What it’s like to be 13 in the age of likes, lols and longing.

This is interesting to me, as in incredibly interesting, because a galpal (fellow Mom) mentioned an article she read in the pullout of the local paper (weekend Washington Post). I told her that her account of it sounded interesting, thus I would love to read it if she would save it for me. She brought it over and in reading it, I was rather intrigued! I was able to find the digital post of it, thus here it is. I highly recommend this (along with all the other ones, OF COURSE)!

Social networks helps stressed and depressed cope.

If you really stop and think about it- how easy is this to actually understand? It seems we spend so much time (as a society) bemoaning how awful social networking is, as it “will make you stressed and depressed”- but what if you are already stressed and depressed?

How ‘social’ is ‘social networking?

How interesting is this? For me, this topic is incredibly interesting.

I was very happy to see this post- it takes into account that those who are shy/lonely can use social networking as a leg up on life.

What an important question, if you think about it! For something that is so intertwined in our days, we really do not tend to think much about it. But the answer to this question should be thought about.
