I can’t take it anymore, I have to introduce you guys to Kalaedin ;A;

He is Jakam’s grandchild through his only surviving daughter! Said daughter and Kalaedin’s father live in Ice with @cometmebro-fr

First off you need to know that he’s huge even for an imperial. 30+ meters (average is ~22 meters). But he’s also one of the gentlest dragons you’ll meet, very soft and gay.

Kalaedin was born in the sparse forest of The Ridges, protected by a loving mother and a strange father. Everyone could see that he took more after his father from the beginning; he had a certain affinity for magic of a more corrupt kind, much to his dismay. As a child he wanted nothing but to create gentle flowers and golden birds with his talents, but instead the stones he practiced on turned to little effigies and disfigured raven skeletons. It was shame that eventually drove Kalaedin away from his clan. He couldn't bear the tragic love of his parents--he wanted peace and solitude. So when he heard that the clan of his grandfather was known for its great riches and beautiful vistas, he made the decision to travel to the Cloudsong Unfortunately for him, he arrived to find the Fletching Clan embroiled in conflict with a fey army. The gentle imperial couldn't help being swept up in it all when he saw all the dragons, sick and dying, cramped in Henalee's longhouse. He knew that his magic could help them overcome the fey... but every enchantment hurt him. Kalaedin wanted nothing more than to leave his magic behind and take up some other craft, but it was not to be yet.

howdy! its cometmebro from fr and i had a question about your leaders! i was wondering how does amdiffyn's leadership differ from akula's and tarach? im just reading through your lore and may send more questions as they come, but this was the first to come to mind! :>

As for your question!

Amdiffyn was just recently made Queen, so she’s still trying to learn the ropes! She has been working hard to organize the Fletching Clan into a more cohesive group where everyone has a job and does it, whereas Akula and Tarach were (and are) less involved in the clan’s everyday comings and goings. They’re no longer the ‘official leaders’, but other dragons still respect their authority as the eldest and progenitors of the clan. 

Akula is definitely the more involved of the two; she acts as a sort of mentor to Amdiffyn and also likes to be friendly and caring toward the downcast of the clan. Tarach stays mostly to himself, though he does attend social functions and spends a good deal of time in the library--though this is mostly to see Ivy. He still feels guilty about how he neglected Kimian’s grandchildren for such a long time but hasn’t really made up with them yet.
