Now that Nora's season is coming to end, what are somethings that you want for amira's season
Hi 😁 I bet you thought I’d never reply to this ask! Well, after you sent this in MARCH, I am finally posting an answer.
Btw, I did the same for Nora’s season, and as a note, I’m a white European and an atheist. If any of this is offensive or not my place to say, I preemptively apologize.
1) I would like for Amira's arc not to be about being Muslim. That is, Cris' arc isn't about being bi, it's about learning (and accepting) that she's more than the fun friend. That she has and can offer more to the people in her life. Nora's arc isn't about being a feminist, it's about not being so set in your first impression of someone that you don't notice red flags or don't notice them trying to be better people. Same with Eva and not being defined by her mistakes, or about Viri and her financial situation. And I would like the same for Amira.
2) I think one common denominator of all Sana seasons so far is that they've shown the mains doing something that people assume hijabi can't do when it's more like they're systematically excluded from participating. For Sana, it was basketball. For Imane, it was dancing. For Amira M, it was boxing. I joked on twitter that Amira N's thing should be binging TV shows and eating junk, proving that hijabi are really like anyone else, but on a serious note, I'd like for Amira's thing to be photography (and maybe modeling? since Amira's friend was taking pics of her).
3) A scene where Amira explains how she can be a feminist and a hijabi both, just so we as a society have that scene to point to when the question inevitably comes up again. Seriously, I feel like that's one of the questions I most often see people asking Hajar.
4) I want the association girls to have their own youtube channel. Or at the very least, their own instagram and/or twitter account. I would love for them to post memes punching up about their experiences.
5) I feel like, much like with trans narratives, there's this "acceptable" narrative for hijabi in mainstream society, which is: the character made the decision to cover after coming up with solid reasons to do so. I.e. she made the decision early and can defend it with inarguable rebuttals. It's like women can't be trusted unless they know 150% what they're doing, be it covering, or dating a girl, or going vegan, or any number of things. I really appreciate that Amira started covering just because it felt right, and she's finding meaning in it after the fact. I would like for this to be a thing in her season, that she's still figuring herself out, that she's not already an Islamic scholar.
6) I also think that's what makes her stand apart from the other Sanas. I feel like (maybe with Zoya's exception), none of the other Sanas would entertain a crush on a white guy. They'd have never drunk or flirted (like we know Amira used to do). It's like they're not allowed to fuck up, or can only fuck up in acceptable ways, like engaging in a flirtation with a non Muslim only because they didn't know he wasn't a Muslim, or had booze at home, but it wasn't theirs, etc. I'm hoping that they've made Dani a love interest specifically to explore this idea (and not because they wanted to whitewash a character or give less time to an actor of color).
7) On that note, SKAM Hajar brought up an idea that, because the hijab makes them super visible, hijabi are perceived as ambassadors of Islam, expected to be able to answer any question about Islam, but also that people will judge all Muslims based on whatever mistake they individually make. I would like for a potential bench scene to allow Amira to say that it puts major pressure on her to feel like she can't make any mistake, because every Muslim will be judged based on her making a mistake, having a shitty day, being in a bad mood, not wanting to be Muslim wikipedia that day, etc. That sometimes she just wants to be Amira, not Islam personified.
8) I would like for Dani's character to represent not just white society, but also childhood, the safe choice, the choice her parents would love, and for Sofian's character to represent not just Moroccan culture, but also like... SEXY risk, independence, novelty... Because I feel like when I see Muslim girl/Muslim boy/white guy love triangles in fiction, the Muslim guy is positioned as the boring choice (but still incredibly wrong because he's abusive or maybe even secretly gay and forced to beard by his parents), the safety, the guy you'd bring home to your parents, whereas the white guy represents independence and carving your own path away from your parents.
9) Just once, I would like for a Muslim character to say, "what do you think of Catholic priests abusing kids?" to someone asking them what they think of such-and-such Muslim majority country doing such-and-such to its citizens. Bonus points if it's Sofian's character.
10) I would like for Dilan to get an insta and a storyline. And for that storyline to connect to Amira's.
11) In general, I would prefer that parents be kept to a minimum (not to get rid of them entirely, of course, but to be kept at the level they've been in other Sana seasons). I just have never thought the point of Skam was the parents. And I get why they have a larger presence in a second gen kid, but I, personally, am more interested in what they represent in the main's life, rather than in giving them a lot of face time.
12) And, on that note, if they do with Amira what I've outlined above, I don't think there's a necessity for Amira to have siblings. Particularly if eskam isn't going to continue after this season. I think it'd be far more interesting if Amira's character contained the elements of figuring her identity as a Muslim living in a Western country that Elias, Idriss and Essam had. (And maybe that way Dani is both Yousef and Elias, stealing not just one role for an actor of color, but two! lmao)
13) I really hope that the obligatory evak s4 side plot be kept at a minimum tbh. I'm really not interested in a) Eloy coming back to cause drama, b) Amira's friend causing croana drama because she's Joana ex or whatever, c) a physical fight breaking out because of (perceived) homophobia.
14) I want Amira to tell Cris that amiris es lo más real que hay. 😭 I would love it if, as a parallel to Cris' season, Amira doesn't tell Cris about her interest in Sofian's character at first because she's afraid of her reaction, only for Cris to be supportive of whatever she chooses to do.
15) I would be so fucking happy if eskam adapted the "is your faith stronger than your lust?" scene in this season. I have always wanted to love that scene, because how often do you get a scene where two girls get to talk that long and that much (even in Skam most of the iconic dialogue scenes between just two people aren't between two girls in the squad), but I just haaaated the purpose of the scene in Skam.
16) I would cry buckets if we got a scene like Det Beste fra Islam where Amira and Sofian's character both talk about what Islam means for them. Particularly if Sofian is introduced as not the Perfect Muslim Man, but it turns out he has THOUGHTS about religion.
17) And, finally, I would love for the unquestionable villain of the season to be a white guy. If the villain is going to be a woman, then I would want her to be Cris' mom, not a high school aged character. Not because of white feminism yayyy! but because I think the major issue Sana seasons have run into before is that the showrunners want to touch on white girls being the problem, but they also don't want to villainize white girls. So we have stuff like Sana inviting Sara and Ingrid (of all people!!) to Eid, Imane apologizing to Ingrid (of all people!!), random one clip white women attacking Amira M (and the Kiki/Amira friendship of course), etc. I'd just rather they didn't have girls doing shitty stuff to Amira N, if they're going to go back on it. Which they inevitably would, because eskam's overall message is sisterhood.
Bonus clips
18) I would love it if Skam España was like, "you thought we were dropping storylines left and right? Nope!" and resolved long standing mysteries like who was behind Eva's hate ig, who had the pills, who outed Cris to the school, who's the owner of the keys that were left behind at GSC, and so on. Will die if it turns out to be Ramón!
19) I want Joana to get that job she wanted so bad last season!
20) I would love for Emma to show up and come out as a lesbian, just as a last hurrah lol.
21) I don't feel strongly about which couples should be endgame and not (other than not Dani/Amira hghvvh please), BUT in my most embarrassing fantasies, I want Skam España to hire Alejandro Reina's irl boyfriend to play Lucas' boyfriend for the finale. Not because I can't separate fiction from reality or anything, but because when I thought Lucas would be getting a season, I wanted his boyfriend to be a poc, and I was highkey buttmad that they hired random white bread when they could just as easily have hired a poc.
22) I think it would be really cool if Inés got a clip on her POV, but I don't think we're going to get it. I think all bonus clips will be from the squad's POV, i.e. Eva, Cris, Nora and Viri. Not even Joana.
23) I want a Mallorca special or episode so bad, and I will be so FUCKING ANNOYED if we don't get it. Seriously, I can't imagine the team didn't feel betrayed when they watched Skam for writing purposes, and didn't get their russetide. So they should know how angry we would be if we didn't get even a little bit of Mallorca time.

Your reblog comments, is that really want sk*m it*lia fans are praising. I know something was up when they said it was great
Hi 🌾 Yeah, all of the things I tagged are things that happened in s4. Apparently giving her 9 episodes and a split POV episode makes it the best Sana season, whatever happens in those episodes notwithstanding.
I just want to say that France gave Imane 10 episodes, if the number of episodes is what determines which Skam season is the best.

33, 35 and 37.
Hi 🌸 I hope Skam France is being fun enough while Skam España is on hiatus. 😪
Cris Soto or Jo Valencia?
Cris.
Joana Bianchi or Elliot Demaury?
I’m afraid I just never found Eliott interesting. I think there’s a sort of... forced cuteness to the way the character is written (the animal stuff is a bit too much for me I gotta say) and the way Maxence plays him. I think he might bring that energy to the role to seem younger. 🤔 I wouldn’t say I’ve fallen in love with Joana (certainly not the way I’ve done with David for one), but I feel for her a lot. I worry when she posts angsty art and I’m happy and relieved when she’s doing well and smiling. I really enjoyed all the social media content in s3 where she was happy and goofing off with Cris. All the ~just platonic friend sleeovers~ lmao. This question made me realize how much I miss Joana and want to see what she’s up to in s4. Like maybe she got that job! (But if Skam España incorporates the covid19 crisis to the storyline, probably not, oops.) Anyway, love Joana’s edgelord ass.
Yousef Acar or Mohammed Razzouk?
They’re both really great characters who also happen to suffer a bit from rushed/wtf writing. In Yousef’s case, if you examine his reasons for leaving Islam a bit closely, it kind of falls apart a bit. Like, couldn’t he have talked to his friends instead of assuming things went a certain way? That kind of faulty communication is fine for a bit of drama, not for a major life decision like religion. 💀
When it comes to Mohammed, I feel like the writers made him a bit too short tempered and impatient to justify delaying the resolution until Amira’s 7th ep. There were a bunch of Mohammed/Amira scenes where I got a bit too stressed because I felt he was being a bit of a dick to her. But idk, I feel like it would’ve been a more interesting story choice if Mohammed had laid his reasons on the table from the start and Amira had to decide whether that was something she could live with in a relationship. I also feel it would’ve led to more interesting conversations not just between the two of them, but also between Amira and other characters (like Omar, Essam, Nadia, maybe even Erwa or Safaa or, you know, her friends!). All in all, I’m going to say Yousef, because I feel like he got to talk about his reasons and decision in more depth than Mohammed, even if those reasons were, like... dumb.

About your last reblog, I think ultimately most Noorhelms are just William stans who self insert with Noora (like- Julie). So if they acts a certain way or doesn’t treat the William a certain way then they ultimately lash out at the character. Ex with Mia and Nora also the fandom with Zoe during season 3
Hi there! I actually don’t think Noora is a Julie self-insert any more than I think Isak is a Julie self-insert for a bunch of reasons that are too long to go into, but yeah, I basically agree with this assessment.
I’ve always kind of thought that Noorhelm stans resemble Vilde (who, across remakes, is more willing to think the best of the William and cut him some slack and excuse his actions) than the Noora. Which is really funny considering the way Noorhelm stans talk about Vilde and her remakes.

I always wanted you to do a noorhelm ranking, especially since all them are officially over ?
Hi 🌻 First off I have another ask of yours I haven’t forgotten about. I just want to do another post before I get to your ask. And hopefully organize my tumblr a little.
Second! I don’t think I’m qualified to rank noorhelms because I’ve only watched the Noora season in Skam, Skam España and Skam Austin. And even when it comes to these three I don’t think there’s a cut and dry way to rank them, because Skam was doing so much more than the other Noora seasons even attempted.
So, I’m just going to post some thoughts on each couple, unless I’ve watched the season, in which I will post about the season itself:
Skam España, Nora/Miquel and Nora/Alejandro: Nora’s is the only Noora season I’d feel comfortable showing to teenagers. In fact, it should be mandatory viewing in high schools tbh. I think the story they told really suits the format, because during a binge watch, a viewer would just breeze past the red flags and subtle manipulation techniques in order to get to the cute content. When it comes to pomenora, I’m almost shocked that Skam España teased us with their relationship for so long, only for them to agree that it wasn’t their moment. I’m not mad, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that happen on a teen show before. In some ways I feel like the writers preferred for fandom to come up with their version of pomenora, rather than writing it themselves lol.
Skam, Noora/William: I think Noora’s season fails in its goal of educating viewers. I don’t think it’s realistic in terms of how the characters behave, it sacrifices believability in favor of highkey dramatic moments out of a cheap teen drama. At the same time, the Syrian refugee crisis and Norwegian national identity are two ideas that are present throughout the season and keep coming up, and I think William (who represents a more sexist, violent side of Norway) and Noora (the feminist, open-minded side) coming to the conclusion that Norway’s national identity isn’t threatened by refugees, but rather enriched by them, is a hugely powerful message to have on a show that was watched by 2/5 of the country. I don’t think any remake team had the range or balls to put that in their most cliched “bad boy is redeemed by the love of a good woman” season.
Skam Austin, Grace/Daniel: I mean, I’m just going to be honest here. The only reason Noora/William even remotely work is because of Julie Andem, and Josefine Pettersen’s insane charisma. Yes, Daniel has an emotional range, unlike William. And Grace was told off by Jo, unlike Noora. But this is still the story of a guy coercing younger girls into sex without protection, who zeroes in on the one girl who presents a challenge, and who makes his girlfriend’s sexual assault all about him. The different teams will change details here and there, but this story needs a serious rehaul to be palatable. What Austin has going for it, is that the writers realized the side characters are all much more interesting than the Grace/Daniel drama, and they gave them storylines of their own.
This is getting long, so everyone else goes under the keep reading.
Manon/Charles: What they have going for it are steamier scenes than Noora/William, being the first Noorhelm remake, and the actors being together in real life. I don’t think any Noorhelm fan would care about them otherwise. Manon and Charles are a toxic relationship that the writers haven’t even realized they’re writing as toxic and harmful. Manon at Imane’s Eid party looked like the protagonist of one of those 19th century novels where the women are trapped in awful marriages.
Mia/Alex: I don’t really have an opinion on them as a couple. All my opinions are confusion about how the writers chose to shoehorn them in s4. Another Noora/William ship where all the characters do after their season is argue and cause drama. At least the arguments aren’t about the Noora’s sexual assault though. A plus!
Eleonora/Edoardo: Are they interesting, or are people just thirsty for Giancarlo Commare? I have to say Eleonora reminds me of a teenie Laura Pausini, and that makes me a tiny bit fond of her ngl.
Liv/Noah: These two actually frustrate me, because I think a good writer could’ve really made them shine. Both of them are given a more attractive persona, the whispery singer and the unwashed artist, but then the writing keeps forcing them into Noora and William’s scenes/characterization. To this day I have no idea if Noah is meant to be moc like his actor, or whether he’s a Blaine Anderson case where his actor is biracial, but the show gives him a white last name and white relatives. And when it comes to Liv, one thing I’ve noticed on twitter is that a lot of Noora/William fans are (imo, not accidentally) woc who relate to Noora and want a William. And it just feels like a missed opportunity that Skam NL didn’t focus on the parts of Noora that these fans relate to, such as her choice to wait to have sex, or her image as the perfect girl (the model minority) which hides a lot of insecurity, curiosity for/interest in the things she rejects, and more work than people guess it takes to be that Perfect™.
Zoë/Senne: Wtfock really said, “oh, you’re telling everyone within earshot that these are a good Noorhelm and they fixed all the dodgy shit in Skam? Lemme take care of that real quick by having Senne make Zoë’s sexual assault all about himself yet again, then date a woc while clearly still pining over Zoë. Everything shall be ruined in the name of realism!” But anyway, I think Zoë is a parody of Noora in looks, lines and jfc that cringy ass instagram bio. And Senne has all the edge of a fluffy kitten, the bad boy persona doesn’t suit him at all.

Not to start discourse but to start discourse, every time the fandom says Robbe had the most internalized homophobia out of all the isak I get confused, he was just surrounded by the most homophobic environment. Nor did they build that arc was built well, I still think isak is the one with the most internalized homophobia
Hey there ✨ I can’t really talk in great detail about wtfock because I quit watching it very early on. That said, watching Robbe’s environment teeming with overt homophobia in the clips I did watch was just not a fun time, in a way I’ve never felt with Skam or the other Isak seasons.
As for the internalized homophobia arc... This arc is Isak’s shame. It is something he struggles with in episode 1 and something he’s still struggling with in episode 10, but to a much lesser extent. This arc is superbly written and I don’t think the writing in any of the remakes has matched it in terms of consistency, coherency and development. (Cris’ shame isn’t internalized homophobia although she does have some, her shame is thinking that the only thing she can offer the world is being the fun party friend.)
So I wouldn’t say Isak has the most internalized homophobia, just that his internalized homophobia was written better than for other Isaks.

Do you hate Dani because of the Amira/Dani thingor do you think he’s just a bad character
Hi! I just answered this. Fwiw I don’t think he’s a bad character, I think I could like him more if he was played by someone else. I’m not sure I’d be into Amira/Dani with other (white natch) actor, but I think I would at least not cringe internally at the thought of them having scenes together, lol.

Do you know how many clips Druck dropped for Matteo’s season ?
Hi ☺ I do not, but I went ahead and counted them on the fan wiki. (link) According to my count, it’s 63 clips total. This number includes the Freitag clips that aren’t released individually. If my math was off, I’m sorry!
Edit: the number of clips per episode, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 7, 5, 7, 7, 6.

I don’t think skam is even suppose to be realistic it’s suppose to be more idealistic ?
Hi hi! 🤍 I think “Skam realism” is probably the topic I’ve essayed at most length about on this site. 😂
But yeah, I agree with you to a certain extent. I think it is important that the Skams feel hyper specific, when it comes to what local teens are into, songs they listen to, their slang (Skam itself went many steps further and included specific Oslo neighborhoods, pop culture references that had happened the week a clip/text would drop, etc) and so on... So that the teens the shows are targeted to really believe the idealistic outcomes can happen when the Skams present it to them.
More here! And now that Niels Rahou has shared that someone at NRK reads over the scripts to ensure the remakes stay faithful to the Skam brand, I’m even more sure that the remakes are contractually obligated to stay faithful to Skam’s mission statement, regardless of the kind of show the remake showrunners make or may not want to make. (Which is fine by me, any person with two braincells to rub together can make a teen show with bullying, cheating, love triangles, eating disorders, gay storylines, etc... But if you want to make a Skam remake, then you have to commit to that. Of course, our mileage may vary in terms of how successful each Skam has been at fulfilling those goals.)
So in short, “Skam realism” is merely a tool to get viewers to suspend their disbelief about its actually idealistic take on life.

2b, 19, 28 !!!
Hi! Thanks for these 🌺
Okay, so I’m going to try and always pick a remake version unless I really, really don’t fuck with any remake version...
2b Who is the best jonas version?
Which I had to specify because none of the remake Jonases do Jonas V justice to me. I find Marlon Langeland so charming, so charismatic, and such a crush as Jonas that no remake Jonas comes close. They’re either nice, but apathetic politically (Jorge), or politically active but not very thoughtful towards their Evas (Jonas A, Marlon F) or good-looking but bland in every way. I want to make a quick note about Jonas A because I know fandom loves him, but he was such a dick to Hanna in season 2, and I never felt like he realized how awful he’d been to her, tbh. Tl;dr: Jonas Vasquez.
19 which remake better treated the mental health storyline?
Not even a debate; Skam España.
28 Which remake treated sana the worst?
So torn between disrespecting the character by casting a non Muslim to play her, or disrespecting the character by having her apologize to overtly racist characters for calling them racists. The bar is so low it’s on the floor.
[ask me stuff]

post 6 random facts about yourself and tag 10 of your favorite followers
I was tagged by @floraflorenzi, I would like to have your self-control when it comes to books, lol.
1. I have a lip piercing, left helix, right rook, and navel. I used to have a tongue piercing, but it fell off twice, so I gave up. I recommend piercings inside and around the mouth, they heal the fastest.
2. I've officiated a wedding in the US.
3. Even though my first language is Spanish, all my devices are set to American English.
4. Although I rarely have use for it anymore, I used to know a good amount of HTML and CSS stylesheets because I had my own website in high school.
5. I have anosmia, which means I have a very limited sense of smell. (If you must know, the smells I can perceive are gasoline, used kitty litter, and for whatever mysterious reason, if an elderly person uses a lot of cologne, I can smell that too. Needless to say I'd much rather have total anosmia than being able to perceive those three smells specifically, lol.) I can, however, tell tastes apart. It's got to be genetic as my brother has anosmia too, but he can't smell anything whatsoever. Both my parents have their sense of smell, though!
6. I'm convinced I'm a Ravenclaw, but the Pottermore quizzes insist on sorting me in Gryffindor.
I’m tagging @liftupyourhands, @comicluke, @procrastinatingbisexual, @bottleofherperfume, @so-many-humans-so-many-colors, @pinballwizardx, @jonasdrothers, @feingeister, @wodrueckts and @isabellelighwood 💛
