I know it’s easy to ignore the imminent effects of climate change if you live in a first world country and/or far away from an ocean coast. I won’t lie to you, I used to be a person who pumped up the air con and took hour long showers... until I learned that there will be an estimated 50 MILLION displaced environmental refugees by the year 2050 if we don’t shift towards taking small actions that will have a HUGE impact on confronting the #ClimateChange emergency. Even if you don’t have the ability to walk everywhere, or to stop using plastic straws, or aren’t in a financial position to buy local produce, we all have the power to make a difference somehow. I love ZERO WASTE FASHION because it’s something we can ALL do to reduce the strain on both the environment AND our wallets! The fashion industry uses 93 billion cubic metres of water every year, but by trading, borrowing, repairing, recycling, thrift shopping, outfit repeating, and giving your old faves a second chance, we can change the course! The #WorldIsInOurHands and I challenge you to #ActNow with me, the @unitednations, and @unenvironment by adopting sustainable fashion practises in your daily life. Behold! A wild Natasha, attempting to pull off her best discount store Angelina, in a dress her mother redesigned and repurposed from a vintage @commonsort piece. The icing on this affordable glamour cake is the stunning Canadian designed @koda_nivoli clutch that I got from @stylistbox. (The wallet I use daily is actually by them as well, and was gifted to me by fashion queen @gail_mcinnes. Thanks lady!) Anyway, I can't believe I made @cbclife's best dressed list, but as one of my style icons @ditavonteese taught me, glamour is art and creation. Wear whatever YOU feel the most comfortable in and whatever works best for YOU! Screw what anyone else has to say. #CDNScreenAwards (Hair/Face: @julia_crimson_makeup) by natvanlis

The Ultimate Guide to Shopping Tomorrow’s Toronto Vintage Crawl
It’s that time of year again! Toronto’s twice annual vintage crawl is back and we’re super excited for a wardrobe refresh.
Tomorrow night, vintage stores across the city will be staying open late to offer special sales and entertainment. Many pop-up shops will also be participating in the event which goes from 5-11pm.
Vintage Crawl Toronto was founded in 2012 by stylist and editor Odessa Paloma Parker, who developed the event to promote independent retailers in the city and celebrate her love of vintage shopping. The crawl also helps establish a sense of community by connecting shoppers to small business owners in their neighbourhoods, and promotes the recirculation of clothes for a greener way of spending.
From stores that specialize in designer steals (hello, new Chanel bag) to boutiques dedicated to curating the perfect collection of jeans, the evening is sure filled with treasures.
We’ve listed some of our fave spots below, but also check out our attached map for a full list of participating stores.
Grab some friends and start planning your route!
