Desna Whaanga-Schollum
Desna Whaanga-Schollum was the founding member of Nga Aho and has been the chairperson since 2016. She was previously the co-chairperson from 2011-15. She graduated with a Master of Science Communication from Otago University in 2018.
Her work is connected through the exploration and articulation of cultural identity. Projects see her collaborating with a wide variety of communities, business and design professionals, artists and academics to achieve results which effect change in people, practice and place.
Tyrone Ohia
Tyrone Ohia (Ngāti Pukenga, Ngāi te Rangi) is the Creative Director and Founder of Extended Whānau in Auckland. He was raised in Whanganui but originally from Tauranga and of Ngāti Pūkenga and Ngāi Te Rangi descent. He studied Computer Graphic Design at the Universal College of Learning (UCOL). Since graduating Tyrone has worked at various design studios in Wellington, and is now part of the team at award-winning design studio Alt Group in Auckland.

Graham Tipene
Graham Tipene’s artwork can be found across Tāmaki Makaurau, from the impressive concrete panels in the Waterview Tunnel and Albany’s stunning Tirohanga Whānui walking and cycling bridge, to the Central City Library and Te Ao Mārama (South Atrium) at Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira.
He grew up in Auckland at a time when the only place to see Māori representation in art was in the museum or the statue in downtown. He ensures Māori voices and values always underpin his work.

Johnson Witehira
Johnson Witehira is an artist, designer and academic of Tamahaki and Ngāi Tū-te-auru descent. He is the co-founder of both Indigenous Design and Innovation Aotearoa (IDIA) and Waahi Wairua. Since completing his doctorate in Māori Visual Art (2013), Johnson has been on a mission to bring Māori culture into all aspects of New Zealand life.
He has led the development of Māori design for some of New Zealand's most prominent organisations: The Auckland City Council, TVNZ, The Auckland International Airport, and Waka Kotahi (The New Zealand Transport Authority).
Other significant design projects include developing the first set of Māori alphabet blocks, co-designing the PAKU gardening tools for children and developing the first functional Māori-specific typeface.

Zoe Black
Zoe Black (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Hine, Pākehā) is the deputy director of Objectspace in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. She has been working in galleries for the past eight years. Her curatorial practice has focused on community development and advocating for critically under-represented craft and object art forms. She was Norwegian Crafts' curator in residence (2020–2022), working on projects that create a dialogue between Indigenous making practices in Aotearoa and Sápmi. Zoe Black was co-editor of the third issue of The Vessel titled Embodied Knowledge.

D.O.B: January 9th 1996, age 24.
Occupation: Professor at the University of Auckland, NZ.
Bio: Dr. Alan Joseph Techachzyck or “Tech” as he prefers to be called, a child genius turned coveted and renound Professor, currently has three doctorates: doctorates in Physics, Linguistics, and Computer Science. He is currently in the process of receiving his fourth, in Biology, while also teaching at the University of Auckland as a physics professor. Tech is somewhat aloof, a workaholic, and a worrier. He is prone to irrational freakouts of epic proportions.

D.O.B: March 5th 1996, age 24.
Occupation: Student at UOA, NZ.
Bio: Steed Thomas Beckett, son of a wealthy British politician and current longstanding boyfriend to Alan “Tech” Techachzyck, is pursuing a doctoral degree in Psychology at UOA. It should be worth noting, he is not in the good graces of either Hunter or Crosshair. Mainly because of Hunter’s stubbornness towards Tech’s independence, and Crosshair’s general bitter and unfriendly attitude. Despite this, Steed is very grounded, respectful and considerate. Though he has a knack for being a bit of an airhead. Also, a total simp for Tech.

Bio: Steed and Tech’s mixed golden retriever-german shepherd puppy. Tech had zero interest in ever having children and Steed wanted to broaden the family. So they compromised. Crosshair secretly adores him, though of course he publicly renounces the mutt. The pup takes from his parents; too clever for his own good and often mischievous, while also being an absolute spazz. Tech has become a complete helicopter parent over him.

Lucas Anthony Jones “Crosshair”
D.O.B: October 31st 1994, age 26.
Occupation: unpaid volunteer at 99’s farm, Student at UOA, NZ.
Bio: Lucas Anthony Jones or “Crosshair” as he insists everyone refer to him by, is an intelligent man with questionable motivations. Opting to join the military as soon as he came of age, he was dismissed for poor behavior. Since then, he has shifted his focus towards earning a degree in Physics at UOA, and potentially working towards a career as a hitman. In his spare time he barrel races at 99’s Farm with his horse Marauder.

Hunter Jefferson Morgan
D.O.B: September 19th 1992, age 28.
Occupation: Manager of 99’s Farm, Camp and Horse Instructor
Bio: Nature enthusiast Hunter Jefferson Morgan is known as the big brother to the Bad Batch (also self proclaimed father to Tech). He’s typically levelheaded, unbothered, and rather zen. As he prefers to spend his time out with nature. However he also takes his role as big brother quite seriously; quick to apprehend Crosshair when he misbehaves (yes even as an ADULT) while also being an even larger helicopter parent to Tech. His horse, Havoc, is a purebred buckskin horse and sister to Marauder.

Walter Theodore James “Wrecker”
D.O.B: June 26th 1993, age 27.
Occupation: Personal Trainer, Manager and Founder of Wrecker’s Gym
Bio: Walter Theodore James is the teddy bear of the bunch. Commonly known as “Wrecker,” a name he had received on the field as a sport super star back in college and prior. His physical stature may be imposing, however he is truly the sweetest of souls and an avid believer in family first. Also, a raging food fanatic.

John Garfield Techachzyck “Gears”
D.O.B: January 9th 1996, age 24.
Occupation: Unclear
Bio: John Garfield “Gears” Techachzyck is the older, long lost, twin brother to Tech (by a whopping 30 minutes). He is essentially the tanner, broader, and slightly taller version of Tech. Not much is known about him, he was at one point enrolled in a University but has since dropped out to pursue his own endeavors. What is known is his longstanding adoration and protectiveness over his twin brother. As well as his unrelenting persistence for any given subject and unfiltered stream of consciousness. He’s crazy. Absolutely feral.

Luther Matthew Morgan “Lot”
D.O.B: September 19th 1992, age 28.
Occupation: Unclear, Gears�� personal babysitter
Bio: Perhaps the most mysterious of the bunch. Luther Matthew Morgan, “Lot,” is the older twin brother to Hunter and self proclaimed big brother to Gears. Lot beats out Crosshair by a long shot for the most unpleasant man. However he does not actively seek out conflict, he is just not particularly fond of other people. He owns a black quarter horse named Cash, who he resides with on 99’s Farm.

A native of Kitchener, ON, Mike Johnson is a visiting scientist at Waterloo. He earned a master's degree in biological sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada before starting at Waterloo. As a member of the Waterloo community, Mike enjoys participating in sports, volunteering at local events and being a part of the greater Kitchener community.

Visiting Auckland, New Zealand 2019/Carlos Pueblo
Auckland is the largest city population in New Zealand located on the northeast of the North Island of New Zealand. It was the final port of my first cruise. It was a sun shining day very different from the capital city of Wellington on three days ago. I had my mind made to tour the main street of all the high rise buildings. The area closed to the pier was under construction and I had mad a detour to pass the company's building of my daughter's work. It is an international city with many kinds of young people including Asian. Even though it is very different from most of the ports we have been passing through, Auckland reminds me of the metropolitan of London, the new area of London. I ran into a graduation ceremony of the Auckland University of Science and Technology, the newly graduate were marching on the main street toward a city square with two convention centers. I had chatted with two three person groups to join their celebration.
The first group were a British professor advising two pretty sisters in a medical science field. He was either from New Castle or Leeds Universities and went to the University of Texas San Antonio Medical School for a visiting professorship some time ago. The elder sister was his student in the same field before and wore a red robe and cap to join her younger sister on the side to take pictures and throwing caps toward each other. This reminds me of my miserable graduation during my school life. I was not that joyful when I was at the undergraduate ceremony and was away from the campus when I had my master of science done. Of course I must admit that I never finish my Ph.D work due to age, lack of proficiency, and the doom future of chemistry during that time. Yet I do enjoy to attend both of my children's college graduation ceremony and both of them are still working.
The second group were a teen ager looking graduate with his parents. He is in computer science major and I admire his bright future for employment in such a big city. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kong joined us for pictures. Senior Kong mentioned to me that his ancestor was the famous Confucius of Santong, China some 2,500 years ago. His recent ancestors moved to nearby Korea and he moved again to New Zealand. He gave me his name card for the future correspondence. He is the public relation director of the Korean Society of Auckland Inc. I promised him mail back the photos for them to keep.
I walked in to an office of the Amnesty International and paid a quick visit. I have always admired their work toward the human right for all unfortunate people in the world. Before 1989 in Taiwan, Taiwan was under Chinese Nationalist's rule similar to the current day of China including Hong Kong under Chinese Communist's rule. Human right violation were and are very common. Chinese do not recognize the human right issue and the rulers advocate the nationalism to surpass human right. What the AI organization can do is to inform both China of their violation and we are appreciated. Now, Taiwan is ruled by Taiwanese and respect the human right has no political prisoners.
