Not to be undone by Chris Sale reaching the 200 strikeout plateau, Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer reached the 200 strikeout mark with his win against the Miami Marlins. In doing so, Scherzer joins Roger Clemens (1986-1992) and Hall of Famers Walter Johnson (1910-1916) and Tom Seaver in getting 7 straight 200 strikeout seasons. The record for most consecutive 200 strikeout season belongs to the aforementioned Tom Seaver who had 9 consecutive 200 strikeout seasons from 1976-1978.
