Celebrating these Jewish values that surround the campers at @islandquestdaycamp, where @ujafedny just dedicated a new Health Center for campers with differentiated needs to rest and be cared for with dignity. I've long felt that so much can be taught in an informal Jewish educational environment, especially if our goals are identity, pride, and belonging. Content-mastery, only truly achievable via long-term formal education, is of high importance, but will be pursued by a smaller, self-selecting part of the Jewish community. Jewish Camping is the way to strengthen hearts and build a truly shared sense of self and diverse community, where we learn to #ContributeUniquely, #LiveCourageously, #TreasureHeritage, #SeekSolutions, and #StayTrue.
