Yesterday - A peaceful protest by hundreds to raise their voices about the way the Tennessee Government is ignoring gun violence in TN, took place at the State Capitol in downtown Nashville. THEIR state troopers grabbed some of the protesters who were standing with the others. Three Democrats in the House took to the well of the This is power. Thank you, @stacy__beyer, for this image and for your soulful leadership. We hear the blood of our sisters and brothers, crying from the ground, from the classrooms, from the synagogues and churches and mosques and malls and grocery stores and hospitals and city squares. We will not be silent, and we will never accept politicians who accept Gun Violence as normal. They have no moral right to represent us if they do not put themselves between our children and a gun. We will End Gun Violence. Our children's eyes are upon us, too many of them watching from Heaven to see when we will finally learn. #EndGunViolence https://www.instagram.com/p/CqdVgz5rSkt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Today is the Trans Day of Visibility. I'm quoting a few of my beloved teachers, and joining them in blessing anyone, any Trans human being, to know that you are loved. As Father Kevin Veitinger wrote just an hour ago: "You are a cherished child of God (full stop)." As Rabbi Mike Moskowitz offers: "There is so much to celebrate on Trans Day of Visibility and the more we appreciate the value of each and every person who is trans, the greater the movement from oppression to freedom.” As Emerging Rabbi Ariel Ezekiel Tovlev writes: "May we build a world that rejoices in everyone as they are, and may there be no need for closets anymore." Amen, Amen, Amen! #transdayofvisibility https://www.instagram.com/p/CqdRaTcrNlu/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This one, my beloved eldest, turns 21 today. She has not been a child for some time, but I still hold her in my mind's eye in that first outfit I bought for her Simchat Bat, am still putting her on that bus for her first day of kindergarten, still studying her Bat Mitzvah parsha with her, still helping her move in to her first dorm, and, most of all, I am still amazed by her effervescent soul. Happy Birthday, my daughter. May this be a year that fills you with joy! https://www.instagram.com/p/CqdD2LHLx1q/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

ChatGPT: "generate a conversation between the lorax and albert einstein about the beauty of the world and how to live hopefully" Lorax: Oh, Albert, it's so good to see you again. The world has changed so much since we last spoke, but it's still just as beautiful as ever. Albert Einstein: Indeed, Lorax. The world is a wonder to behold, with its vast expanses and intricate systems. It's a place of constant change and discovery. Lorax: Yes, but it's also a fragile place. There are so many things that can harm it, from pollution to overuse of resources. Albert Einstein: That's true. We must be mindful of how we treat our planet and its inhabitants. But despite the challenges we face, there is still much to be hopeful about. Lorax: That's what I always say! I may speak for the trees, but really, I speak for all of nature. And I know that as long as we take care of it, the world will continue to be a beautiful place. Albert Einstein: I couldn't agree more. Hope is the key to living a fulfilling life. It's what keeps us striving for a better tomorrow, even in the face of adversity. Lorax: And it's what keeps me going, too. I may see the damage that humans can do to the world, but I also see the potential for change. I see people who care about the planet and who are working hard to make a difference. Albert Einstein: Yes, and it's important to remember that every action counts. Whether we're planting a tree, recycling, or just being mindful of our energy use, we can all do something to help. Lorax: That's right. It's up to all of us to take care of this beautiful world. And with hope in our hearts, I know we can do it. In just a few moments, the first @ujafedny / Selfhelp Model Passover Seder since COVID will begin. We’ll be welcoming over 50 Holocaust Survivors and other older members of our community, including recent immigrants from Ukraine, to share our People’s story. What a humbling privilege to be in their presences. May their lives be blessed. May we earn the privilege of their legacies through our work to repair this fragile world. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqav-KxL2sF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Can’t believe how wonderful and strange this project has been. As someone who lives deep in emotional space, I’ve found people’s responses fascinating. I wrote about Gun Violence and Civil Rights, and meaningful Torah, and people don’t always respond. But this experiment with artificial intelligence, which is changing the world faster than we realize, has generated lots of interesting reactions - good and bad. I’ll be in conversation about this brave new frontier with Rabbi Ashira Konigsburg and Russel Neiss at Ramah Darom’s Pesach Retreat in just a week, and look forward to sharing the exploration in communities I’ll be visiting. Shabbat Shalom! #ai #torah #impossibletorah https://www.instagram.com/p/CqL9WLmL_Uk/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
