This looks like peanut soup, right? Those are actually yellow split peas that have been cooking for 7 hours. This is a problem; peas should break down relatively quickly, and can be considered “done” within an hour. Dried legumes that have been sitting around for too long can fail to soften. But I was so invested in this working that I kept it going for 5 hours longer than I should have. Complete failure. The italian way to make macaron need more technique and skill than french style. But i say it seems the taste is fine to me, and it's even more chewy than french way.
