22/5/21 - 1 AVAILABLE! - As always there’s a mini tale behind these forged copper buckle belts, that I said I’d stopped making 🙄 - But the reason I stopped was because they could take me a bit to make and I’d made enough by then to be fed up. Coupled with those buckles I was making for another firm I’ve properly become fed up with copper altogether. Also the break from it has done wonders for getting on with other jobs and pieces I want to make. - Anyway, Sod’s Law, a good few folk became quite persistent in wanting one after mentioning I was done with them. I resisted for a while but eventually felt like I was being a bit of a stick in the mud, so I put the feelers out to those I could remember enquiring. Only 3 folk came back with a reply and only 2 followed through with paying 👀 (thank you to those 2 🙏) - So! This “4-21 . 3/3” is still available and will certainly be the last for some time. - Its made from 5/16ths copper stock as before and worked by hand, hammer and anvil into a 40+mm half frame style buckle. Fitted out with contrasting double brass prongs and unique small batch hand stamping to the rear and finished with a session in the tumbler then semi polished up on the wire wheel, both processes that give the usually soft copper a hardened finish. Left raw do develop its own patina. - Of course its the full belt (not just the buckle) that I’m offering here. Made specific to your size with Baker’s famous oak bark bridle leather, in black or natural, which will be finished with chamfered and burnished edges not the old rounded ones that could be done by machine.
