Lets Imagine them not as people but as animals to make it easier for those still not grasping the fact that Lala are just normal adult people, cause there is an actual equivalent in our world of a breed being short and stubby amongst others of their catagory.

Dogs.

Lalafell are Corgi. Elezen (Who I sometimes call "Elongated Lalas" or "Stretched Popotos" or just "Yams", due to both being Elven coded, just LotR vs Santa/keebler) are Borzoi and all the other races are different breeds of dog that don't have Chondrodysplasia dwarvism like Corgi, basset hounds, dachshunds, and many others do. Like Roe might be Tibetan mastiffs and Highlanders Great Danes. Auri are poodles cause they come in a large range of sizes, I don't really care what you do cause the point of this isn't to assign each race a canine fursona.

The point is an adult Corgi is still an adult dog, even though it has stubby legs and a chonky tube body and tends to be short enough to stand under other dogs comfortably, like a Lalafell is often Knee-to-butt High on many races. Meanwhile an Adult Borzoi is an adult dog that's super lanky and often compared to Horses and Dragons, with long legs, long bodies and long necks, like Elezen!

However, Borzoi and Corgi are both still dogs, and mature at about the same rate, and Elezen and Lalafell are still Spoken who mature at about the same rate. And MANY MANY LALA IN GAME are extremely adult coded... and horny...

By the twelve so many in game Lalafell are incredibly horny. And other races love and/or lust for them as well: just to name a few, in stormblood there's a Male Lala/Female Miqote pair questline you can follow where they both think the other saved their lives and became smitten with them and wanted to be reconnected, and they actually saved each other and its really romantic, and in the Firmament you have a ton of Dzemael workers absolutely SMITTEN by their Limsan Lalafell contractor. And that's not even mentioning the tangent of how many boyfriends Tataru has had. To drive this fact home in canon, in Shadowbringers they really tried to rattle this fact into place in people's brains that they are adults by making them one of the Societal groups we get reputation quests for and calling them flat out Dwarves. They drink HEAVILY and fight eagerly, and host feasts, work in mines and with heavy machinery. Why are you guys trying to insist on making them Children: Do you just want to send Children to the Mines and working with dangerous heavy machinery and explosives like a 1800's Coal baron? You gonna make a company store too? Stop treating your Corgified Elezen's like babies and recognize Lala are just Elves with Dwarvism.

PSA: For New Followers

I just had to block someone who stated that they didn’t want followers who “lewd lalas”, and I felt that I needed to get my thoughts out on the matter.

I don’t tend to write NSFW, and I’m not known to be any kind of spicy writer. I tend to blend fluffy wholesomeness with a good dose of angst, but not a lot of spice. Any spice is usually only heavily implied. (Though I do have two posts of NSFW headcanons for Yume and Yume x G’raha and one small prompt I wrote a long time ago, and that’s it). Plus, I’ll never post explicit NSFW gposes for any of my ships on any platform.

HOWEVER, Hali is my lala WoL OC and she’s in love with Aymeric, and they are in a romantic and sexual relationship post-EW. Even though I never intend to make any explicit NSFW content for them, Hali is an ADULT, and she’s not ace. I believe that lalas are people, just small in stature. No different from other fantasy races of small people from other media such as dwarves, gnomes, hobbits, etc. The lalafell seen throughout the game are absolutely NOT written as children either.

Does that mean I’m a “lala lewder” for writing Hali as an adult, who experiences sexual attraction, has sexual feelings, etc. even if it’s not explicit NSFW content?? Or the fact that I ship her with a non-lala npc?? I honestly don’t have the answer to that question.

But I do know that I felt some kind of way about seeing that statement a little while ago. I felt that even though I haven’t written anything explicit, I felt unwelcome, and I felt the need to block the person in question to be safe.

If this post somehow offends you, then feel free to unfollow me, block me, do what you need to do. Because I love Hali. I have never felt so strongly connected to any OC I’ve written before besides Yume, and I adore her ship with Aymeric that I’m currently developing. It makes me happy, and my close friends seem to love it as well. I’m not about to give that up for anyone.

So if that’s a deal breaker for you, then that’s fine with me. Let this be your warning that I write a fluffy, wholesome, yet angsty ship that comprises of two idiots in love who both think their love is unrequited.

Did a sketchbook thing, perfecting some designs from my own worldbuilding.

I thought it would be fun if the orcs were related to the smaller folks. A matter of island dwarfism, perhaps. The gnomes and haufin diverged, got real small, and then diverged again as one group went underground while the other group stayed in the mountains. They're still closely related enough to interbreed, which results in some interesting combinations. Most often, when you get a criss if the smaller folks and the orcs, the orc is the one giving birth. And if the mixed species folks have more mixed kids, it starts to kinda reverse the divergence and bring back the genetics of their common ancestor. I've called the full mix "urukin" because the scientific name I made for this whole species group is based on Tolkein's Uruk-hai orcs.

This group is the "orciformes", and they're closer related than the elves and their cousin species, which are grouped together as the "sylvanids".

Orc: specialized for hunting large prey. Longer snout, big tusks, large ears.

Gnome: specialized for climbing cliffs and trees. Shorter snout, smaller ears, no visibly large teeth, rounder forehead.

Haufin: specialized for living in underground burrows. Shorter snout, folded ears, large forward-facing tusks on top and bottom, sensory whiskers.

The hybrids:

Hauforc: teeth! Similar tusks to the haufin, but larger. Basically just a beefier version of the haufin with a longer snout. Also has sensory whiskers.

Gnorc: "corgified" orc. Small tusks, rounded forehead, basically just a petite orc.

Gnaufin: short and stocky. Smaller teeth than a haufin, with a slightly more gnomish skull shape. Very round. Also has the sensory whiskers.

Urukin: a blend of all three, which tends to bring back some recessive genes from their common ancestor. Beefy, tusks on top and bottom, but not facing forward like a haufin's tusks. Longer snout, thick neck, very hairy.
