It wasn’t often she’d run into senshi she didn’t know while on her rounds, but all the same she felt an energy that she didn’t recognize. Stopping where she was, perched lightly on a rooftop somewhere in the Azabu district, she focused her senses on the strange magic. Feeling a sort of discordant buzz on her skin. A strange senshi indeed, not necessarily a dark senshi, but certainly one that bordered on the darkness.

Sailor Mnemosyne took a deep breath, carefully straightened her dress, and darted int he direction of the feeling, until she came upon the senshi in question. Keeping herself in the shadows, but not too invisible, she observed the woman, trying to divine just what she was and why she was here.

“Hello there” She greeted, just barely loud enough to be heard. “It’s rare to see another senshi on mere coincidence, might I ask your name?”

A flash of bright hair caught her eyes, and the entire world ceased to exist. It was rare, in Tokyo - such a pale colour, so rare she reached out her hand without thinking about it. Mariel didn’t know this young girl at all; but she reminded her of loved ones she would never see again, of how amazed she used to be when she was younger by the simple sight of bright hair on a planet where it was an uncommon trait.

When she realized what she was doing, it was too late to do as if nothing happened; the young girl noticed her, and the two of them were so tall they attracted attention by just standing there in the street.

“I’m sorry, I--- mistook you for someone else.” she couldn’t manage to be rude or just ignore her like she would usually do. Memories softened her tone and she heard herself add:  “... Your hair is so lovely.”

She usually jokes on the battlefield and is seen talking to Mal'Kai from time to time. Katsuko enters the shop, careful to keep her jumperskirt, made voluminous by her numerous petticoats, from knocking anything over. A pensive expression marks her face; her brows drawn inwards and pale lips curved into a slight frown. But once she gets to the counter, her features soften and she finally allows herself a smile as she holds out a calligraphy-decorated card to Sunako. On it are two words printed in kanji and Russian. "Thank you. For the birthday present, I mean."

    The bell above the shop door failed to draw Sunako’s attention, her focus trained on the pile of Myrtle Pepper stacked on the counter. She held a small strip of paper on one hand, a jar in the other, scooping the dried berries off of the counter in carefully-counted bundles of fifty. It wasn’t until Katsuko spoke that her attention was pulled away -- face lifted in surprise at the sound of a familiar voice. 

    “Oh!! You didn’t have to travel all the way just to say thank you.” Her hands are wiped on her apron before it is tossed to the side, still dusted with the scent of Mytrle Pepper as she reached for the card. 

    “But since you’re here, how about we read this over a cup of tea?”

    The tone in the girl’s voice caused Makoto’s hands to raise, held out to show she was backing off. She hadn’t meant to overwhelm the girl -- it’s just that she wasn’t used to dealing with someone so... FRAGILE? Was that too rude of a word? Maybe INTROVERTED was a bit nicer. 

    “You’re fine, I’m not going to push you. Making friends is hard, but it doesn’t have to be SCARY. Why don’t we grab lunch and take it easy, then give it another shot when we’re fueled up, yeah?”
