Cosmogony: Dawn of a New Age Update

Hello, everyone!

First of all, let us apologize for the months of silence. As you know, we are all living through a difficult situation right now, and it has not been easy to plan anything in advance for some months now. We can only be thankful that this situation happened once all of our packages had been sent and delivered, so no one had to wait for longer than necessary for their Cosmogony book to reach them. 

However, we come here today with sad news: because of the pandemic, and the impossibility of sending out packages safely for all parties involved, we are forced to postpone left-over sales indefinitely. We have thought long and hard about this, and while we are sad to see some of our books and merch bundles still in a box instead of on their way to their forever homes, we believe this is the best decision we could have taken at this time. We hope you will understand our need to postpone left-over sales until it is safer to work again on our project. 

There is other news, though! 

Since we don’t want to hold on to the Cosmogony money indefinitely, we have gone ahead and made the donation to our charity of choice, the Global Heritage Fund. We were able to raise $2500 for this group!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, EVERYONE!!! This wouldn’t have been possible without your overwhelming support of the Cosmogony Project.

Below is a breakdown of the project. 

If you run the end amount (2118,24€) through a converter app, you’ll see these a tiny difference between the final amount in this spreadsheet and the final amount donated. That is due to currency exchanges being different from when most of the payments were done! COVID-19 has made currency exchanges fluctuate a lot during the past months, but also, most of our payments were done at the end of 2019, so please keep that in mind! 

We will do our best to find homes for the remaining stock once this situation has calmed down a bit, so feel free to continue following the Cosmogony accounts (twitter and tumblr) for any updates that we might have for anyone interested.

Another weekly ISEB Twitter Roundup!

All the hype surrounding Episode: Ardyn and the prologue anime made me hop aboard the bandwagon long enough to doodle a quick portrait of Hobo Trash Jesus ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I got to Chapter 10 in my PS4 save and had to take a break to draw sad Ignis (╥﹏╥)

I got into my first zine!! ٩( ᐛ )و Thanks to the mods of @cosmogonyzine for accepting my concept, I can’t wait to get started on it. I’m going to reblog the master post in a minute but you can check out the details of it right here!

I finally beat FFXV on my PS4 save last night! I was racing to get through it before EP:A dropped because I was afraid they would pull the FFXIV collaboration with the EP:A update and I needed access to Adamantite in Chapter 15 in order to upgrade all of the exclusive weapons. Completely unbeknownst to me until I posted the two Certificates of Completion side by side was the fact that it was two years TO THE DAY that I beat FFXV for the very first time (cue X-Files music):

That’s all for now! I’ll likely be busy with Cosmogony stuff so I probably won’t have many drawings to post in the month of March, but I’ll try not to leave this blog too barren! (Also shoutout to @hypaalicious it’s always good to see you in my notifs friend <3 <3 <3)

Cosmogony Zine Update: Pre-Orders In August

Hello hello! 

Thanks everyone for your patience while we work on finalizing some things on our side. 

We are excited to announce that we will be opening pre-orders next month! We have decided to use bigcartel in order to hit all our needs for this project.

We thank you again for waiting patiently while we worked through this shift in our plans. As for the zine itself, all pieces are finished and everything is being put together! It looks amazing, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Cosmogony Zine update: pre-orders

Hello everyone, we wanted to give an update on pre-orders today. 

With our original schedule, we had planned on opening pre-orders through Kickstarter starting June. We’ve been working all through May to be able to reach this goal but, despite that, we’re sad to announce that we won’t be able to work with Kickstarter as an option for this zine. 

The reason behind this is, while setting up our campaign on Kickstarter, we were warned that certain laws apply depending on which country a project is started from. Since our project is based in Spain, the moment those laws applied, we might not have enough funds to give our contributors a free copy of the zine with free shipping. Since this has never been an option for us, we’re currently looking for other ways to make Cosmogony pre-orders possible. We wanted to have our new option for when we made this announcement, but even that has been proven difficult. We didn’t want to leave you all in the dark for long though, so we decided to go right ahead with this post to provide an update. 

As of right now, we have a few options we are looking into, but even so, we are sure we won’t be able to open pre-orders according to the calendar. We don’t want to rush into things or make any mistakes, so right now we’re aiming to open pre-orders in July. We will give more specific dates as we get things more ironed out. 

We understand this is disappointing, but believe us, we’re even more disappointed. 

We ask for your understanding in us being slow and careful while looking for new ways to fund this project. Kickstarter gave us the benefit of not touching any money until we were sure the zine was funded, so we want to make sure Option 2 is good and safe to handle what we want before we give the go on pre-orders.

Cosmogony Zine Update: PRE-ORDERS START IN A WEEK

Hey there everyone!

Thanks for your patience and support while we got everything ready! We are excited to announce that pre-orders for Cosmogony: Dawn of a New Age will kick off next week, on August 26!

There will be five tiers for the zine:

Titan Tier: PDF copy of the zine

Ramuh Tier: Physical copy of the zine + 1 random postcard

Leviathan Tier: Physical copy of the zine + 1 random postcard + 1 random bookmark

Shiva Tier: Physical copy of the zine + 2 random postcards + 1 random bookmark + 1 random charm

Bahamut Tier: Physical copy of the zine + all 3 postcards +  both bookmarks + both charms

We will reveal the tiers themselves once the sale starts - we can’t wait for you to see all the hard work of our participants!

Zines, Dawn of the Future Blitz, & Future ISEB Updates

One day I’ll have an update for my followers that’ll involve, you know, actual content. But in the famous words of Aragorn, “It is not this day.” ಥ‿ಥ I do, however, have a few tidbits of info I’ve accumulated over the past couple months that I’m overdue to share, so here are the deets:

~Zines~

Having grown frustrated with myself for learning about many awesome FFXV fanzines too late in the process to participate in, I vowed that 2019 would be the year I would finally apply for one. @cosmogonyzine was the first one brought to my attention, for which I promptly submitted my application; not long after, @everatyoursidezine showed up on my radar and—in an effort to increase my chances of landing any zine gig—I applied for that one too; I had barely hit the send button for my Ever At Your Side application before the mother of all Ignis zines, @sagefirezine, was announced—which, obviously, was a calling I simply could not ignore.

Hoping to get into at least one of the aforementioned zines, my applications ended up being accepting into all of them, which might sound like the world’s most thinly-veiled humblebrag except for the fact that the final due dates for each zine are all within two weeks of each other and I just spent a good chunk of my available drawing time eschewing responsibility and not working on anything while I was off on my little jaunt through Japan. But I’m back now, and despite having bit off a bit more than I can comfortably chew, I’ve been working diligently on delivering some exciting concepts for each zine. Here’s a little rundown of each one:

Cosmogony: Dawn of a New Age

Who: 12 artists & 12 writers

What: A zine focusing on the different eras of Eos, beginning with the Fall of Solheim and continuing through the Dawn of a New Age

When: Preorders open in June

Why: Without spilling any details, I’d like to thank the mods for accommodating my request and letting me draw what I draw best! :3

Ever At Your Side: A FFXV Friendship Fanzine

Who: 25 artists & 10 writers

What: A zine focusing on the theme of friendship in Final Fantasy XV

When: Preorders open in June

Why: This zine really spoke to me because of its appeal to shippers and non-shippers alike. Not only will I be contributing a full-sized piece to this zine, but I’ve volunteered to create a sticker sheet for it as well!

Sagefire: An Ignis Scientia Fanzine

Who: 25 artists, 5 writers, 5 cosplayers & 5 merchandise artists

What: A tribute zine dedicated solely to everyone’s favorite strategist

When: Preorders are currently open!

Why: ಠ_ಠ

~Dawn of the Future Blitz~

As if my April calendar wasn’t already scheduled down to the minute, I was tapped by @landscape-gonna​ to create an illustration for a fan blitz she is organizing; the blitz is planned for the same day the Dawn of the Future novel is due for release in Japan (April 25th), and participants include artists, modders, and cosplayers from around the globe. I can’t say more than that at the moment, but I suspect it will coincide with the big push from fans worldwide to send messages of thanks and gratitude to FFXV’s developers—you have until April 20th to fill out this form if you want to send you own message of thanks!

~Future ISEB Updates~

This is the part of my post where I try to predict what the future of this blog holds, which admittedly sounds a little despairing but I assure is not really that ominous—mostly I just want to get a feel for what you guys would like to see from me once I’ve wrapped up the last of my zine pieces in May.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve added any new merchandise to my store, so my first thought was a new set of acrylic charms. Enamel pins have also been on my mind for a while now, and I’ve gotten permission from at least one of the zines I’m in to sell prints of my own piece at a later date. I’m certainly open to other merch ideas (I’m not sure if the internet needs yet another Ignis daki, but if enough people clamored for one, I wouldn’t rule it out); I’m also considering doing a small run of my older Ignis charms, so feel free to sound off in the comments if that’s something you’d be interested in.

Other than that, you can still count on me for future Ignis sketches/drawings/content! ٩( ᐛ )و @dizzymoogle​ actually posed an interesting question on Twitter recently that has inspired me to possibly take up writing fanfiction again. Just as soon as I finish these zine pieces ;_;

Cosmogony: Dawn of a New Age strives to be the revised version of the beloved Cosmogony book that has taught generations of Lucians about their past. Through lovingly written stories and beautiful illustrations, this Cosmogony zine will cover the important eras of Eos’ history, from the Fall of Solheim to the Rise of the True King and The New Dawn.

There will be a Discord for updates and important announcements, where participants will be able to talk to each other and share fun ideas! But we will also communicate via email, so you don’t have to get Discord just for this.

We will be asking those who are selected to give their preferred era[s] and will be working off that to make sure we have all eras covered. We will jump in if we need to work out any situation where there are eras that aren’t claimed - we want to work with everyone to make sure they get to work on an era they are excited about

We will also be looking into merch options with our participants! This will be a question for those who participate.
