Covid, Cities & Typologies On the 8th of March 2020, the Lagos State government banned religious gatherings of more than 50 people. On 30th March 2020, the federal government of Nigeria would announce a nationwide lockdown with immediate effect in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja. 28th March 2020, Cross River State banned religious gatherings of more than 5 persons. 20th May 2020, Cross River lifts the ban on religious gatherings. As of 18th May 2020, NCDC confirmed the state had only tested seven samples, the second lowest in the country at the time. At the time, the state had no confirmed cases. 6th of June, the Lagos State government announced religious spaces could reopen for gatherings from the 19th of June, however this would become suspended, due to a rising number of cases in the state.
