Had some fun with golden hour the other day, and man it felt so good to put on a full face of makeup, a nice top, and to actually smile. I didn’t realize until recently how much I haven’t smiled over the past week or so. From now on, I’m changing that. I will make it a point to find things to smile about, even if it’s just me by myself all day. I will do things that bring me joy, like art and talking to people. I will do all I can to make other people smile, because God knows we all need it right now. I will make my bad days better by making myself laugh, even if that means cat videos on YouTube. What are you going to do to bring joy to yourself and others? The balcony of my apartment doesn’t get any direct sunlight (which is sad) but it gave me the chance for some cool artsy shots. I took quite a few, so I promise you’ll see more later. #monathair #quarantinepositivity #shineyourlight #goldenhourselfie #goldenhouraesthetic #blonde #blondecurls #blondewaves #thefirstoneismyfavorite #offtheshoulder #beauty #veganhair #naturalcurls #naturalwaves #covidselfportraits (at Northridge, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-h3C04jGvq/?igshid=x3d42oaaethk

My COVID self-portraits. From photo, mirror, and video. Not in that order. Can you tell which ones are done from which source? #covidselfportraits #selfportrait #drawing #worksonpaper (at Brooklyn, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFWAJLSl6eA/?igshid=j9fti1rk8brr

My coronavirus “Shelter at home” introspective journey led me to paint a self-portrait. Food had become extremely important, and meals deserved to be celebrated as moments of beauty. 64 small breakfast plates of yogurt and fruit construct this self-portrait, evoking cornucopia, the symbol of endless abundance and nourishment. But as in 17th century vanitas, one of the plates features the coronavirus crown, a reminder of the fragility of such abundance. Detail, four 8 x 8 inches oil on canvas paintings, 2020. #selfportrait #coronavirusart #covidportraits #covidselfportraits #covidart #covidartmuseum #autoportrait #breakfast #breakfastplate #cornucopia #vanitas #abundance #oilpainting #fredericlere (at Trôo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDGnz_GKPtq/?igshid=1k73im1uukkta
